About Gary and Kristina
We have lived in Colorado for over 40 years and we absolutely love it. We have traveled to all the Colorado ski resorts and Breckenridge is definitely our favorite!
Gary and Kristina purchased this Condo in 2007
Why Gary and Kristina chose Breckenridge
Our family chose The Village at Breckenridge because of it's location. It is so close to town and yet still a ski-in/ski-out resort. The view is definitely what sold us on this specific unit, as it is just breathtaking to wake up to every morning. It truly has the best of everything!
What makes this Condo unique

Handy to everything in the village
Wonderful cozy condo
It was great stay. Awesome location & amazing Mountain View’s! The only downfall is that the condo is not equipped with a/c & it gets toasty late in the afternoons during the month of July. Had to get a portable a/c from the front desk. It really didn’t make a difference & it was noisy.
Adult Wedding Weekend
Great location, we were a couple who used it more like a hotel room. We enjoyed having a lobby and service. We used the suitcase storage both at the beginning and end of the trip. We could walk to all of downtown Breck!
I Will Not Rent This Unit Again in the Summer.
I rented this property in June for a conference that was just around the corner. The location is great, and I would rent it in the winter if I was skiing but for a summer rental I would choose another property. There are two reasons that I had such a bad experience.
First, there is no air conditioning in this unit, you only have heat. So if the room is hot you must open the windows. That normally is not a major problem. However, if you want to cover the windows to go to sleep or not wake up at dawn you need to "pull up the blinds" rather than "pulling them down". In other words, their blinds come up from a box, and cover the windows completely which you want. But since it the blinds come up they cover the open window, so no air circulates in the room and you do not cool down. This finding was incredibly frustrating to the point I did not sleep well either night and checked out a day early.
The second issue I have is the $30 parking fee to park in this development's garage. The description of this property does not notify you of this fee at all, anywhere. I was not told about this fee until after I booked the unit and then paid my first deposit. The owner of the unit told me of the fee only when I paid my first deposit. which I find incredibly deceiving and dishonest.
If you have never been to Breck you will learn parking anywhere in town is brutal, to the point where there is no public, affordable overnight parking except at the airport. Again in winter, I would have been fine with this fee, but for the summer I though that was ridiculous to pay an additional $30 each night on top of the other fees. I am sure you could find a similar unit in the same location without paying this parking fee. That is my review of this property.
Thank you for pointing out the great location of the condo, we completely agree! We would like to address the reasons you would not return and wish you would have reached out to us during your stay, as we are always available.
The blinds actually go up from the bottom, as you described, but also come down from the top. This is described in detail on the laminated card on the wall next to the window. There is a cord on the right side of the window blinds and another one on the left side to perform the top-down/bottom-up functions. We did this so that one can enjoy the beautiful ski slope view without sacrificing privacy (top-down), but also be able to open the window to allow for the cool mountain air (bottom-up). You are correct, we do not have air conditioning as stated on our VRBO listing but between the ceiling fan, portable box fan and cool mountain nights, the condo cools off nicely. During the summer months, pulling the blinds up from the bottom (as opposed to from the top as you did), opening the window and putting the box fan on the window sill to pull in the cool mountain air, usually cools off the room fast. As for the parking charges, it clearly states the cost for parking on our VRBO listing. Parking charges are also addressed in the rental agreement every guest must agree to before booking our property. The email we send out prior to a guests arrival simply provides arrival instruction, no new information about parking charges is included in this email. It is unfortunate you did not read about the parking charges on our VRBO listing or in the rental agreement you agreed to prior to booking our property, but stating that we are “incredibly deceiving and dishonest” is not true. We are completely transparent with the information we provide to our guests.
Best studio condo in Breck!
Loved everything about this studio condo! The Mountain View’s were stunning. The location perfect.
This was the perfect location and size for my granddaughter and me. Being able to check in with a front desk is great. Would stay again
