|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Completely remodeled with beautiful wood floors. All the comforts of home including a Full Kitchen with Microwave, 50' Plasma TV with Directv, Washer/Dryer, High Speed Internet, and a Landline telephone (just in case your cell phone isn't working...). The back deck opens onto a view of towering pine trees. Very private and peaceful. Just a short walk to the lake, National Forest land for hiking, and town. The cabin does have a couch which converts to a sofa bed, so if you have children, it may accommodate them. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay!
I love the mountains, the lake, and this cabin, I hope you do too.
John Shepherd purchased this cabin in 2012
Step in the front door and you just feel comfortable!
This Cabin has easy access, but it feels private...
My husband and I stayed here for a 3 day weekend with our dog. Had a great peaceful time enjoying the wonderful view of nature in the backyard. Had a great time visiting Big Bear Village. It was an adventure driving in the snow, Sunday, back to the cabin, but made it safely. My hudband had a great time ziplining at Big Bear and we gazed at the winter wondeland backyard when we got back that evening! So peaceful and beautiful. John was a wonderful host and was quick to reply to us. We would definitely come back and recommend this place. Thank you for the opportunity! YAY!!
The cabin was clean and cozy. Looks small from the outside, but open and spacious inside. Plenty of extra towels and blankets. Enjoyed bbqing while looking out at the view of the snow from the deck. Kitchen stocked with pots, pans, utensils and even soap and sponge--only need to bring your food! Bathroom is clean, appreciated the hand soap and shampoo, especially the handy wall heater! John is really easy to work with. Looking forward to our next stay there.
Our family of 5 had a great stay at this cabin. It is very roomy, clean and homey. Excellent communication with owner. We especially loved that there are vacant lots on either side of the cabin which gives it a private feel. The views are beautiful and the neighborhood was great. We highly recommend this place.
Our family of 6 stayed over the new years weekend and the kids loved it just as much as my husband and I did. It was perfect, it snowed that evening so the kids had fresh fluffy snow to play in new years day. When John described that everything you could need was provided, he wasn't exaggerating, the kitchen really is fully stocked, dishes, pots and pans, cups, mugs, wine glasses, even some condiments in the fridge and pantry, coffee, coffee maker, seriously stocked! But not just the kitchen, bedroom has everything you need, bathroom, blankets, I mean all you need to bring is clothes and food. My kids have asked to go make that trip a tradition. Thanks John for a lovely home away from home, we'll see you again soon.
This was our second visit to "The Getaway", ideally located in beautiful Green Valley Lake. Clean, cozy and private. John makes it so easy to arrange a relaxing, stress-free vacation. We'll be back!
Some of the worlds finest 4x4 trails, world class trout fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, small boating, sledding, skiing/snowboarding all just minutes away.
