About the property

Our place is an eclectic 3bedroom/1.5bath townhouse in the awesome Soulard neighborhood with all of its historic charm. Conveniently located, it is just 5 minutes south of downtown and within 10-15 minutes of most major attractions in St. Louis. Although nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, it is within walking distance of some of the best night life and restaurants in St. Louis. Enjoy a loft style home with easy parking right outside of your door.

We have tried to create a space that is unique, fun, cozy and comfortable. Our place could be a romantic getaway for two or a fun place to share with friends. Everyone can have their privacy as there are three separate bedrooms. The full bath features double sinks and a combination shower/jetted tub. There is also a convenient half bath on the first floor. In the spring summer and fall, enjoy our private, brick paved courtyard.

If you choose to dine in, you will find a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your meal. There is a great neighborhood grocery store about a 3 minute walk away for anything you might need. We will provide some complimentary snacks and beverages.

We will do whatever we can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

About The Owner

Jane is a retired school counselor. Ray and his son are professional rehabbers of old historic homes and buildings. We love the city and enjoy traveling to other cities to explore their neighborhoods. We are always on the hunt for antiques, unusual items and treasures. You will see a little bit of that at our place.

We have three grown children and two grandchildren who we love spending time with.

The Owner purchased this house in 2000

Why The Owner chose Soulard

Great architecture and we love the Soulard neighborhood!

What makes this house unique

We love all the brick, our arched entryway, original staircase and moldings.

Festive Winter Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

This is an extremely beautiful and comfortable home. It is as perfect as the pictures... Immaculate and seemingly brand new. This is a very comfortable home for lounging in the courtyard or by the fireplace. Linens are high end and pristine. The decor is stylish and fun. A quick walk will take you to a wonderful market, many restaurants and bars. The owner provides all the hotel amenities you would expect and more. We stayed here for three weeks this December including Christmas. The home was adorn with Christmas decorations and a tree! The location includes great parking and easy access to everything St. Louis. I am a five star hotel aficionado and I never thought a VRBO or Homeaway could match up. This property proved me wrong! Our stay could not have been more perfect.

Beautiful home! Very clean, quiet. Close to downtown, Anheiser Busch and a couple of great restaurants. The Peacemaker, for fresh seafood and Tucker’s place for best steaks ever, within walking distance! Will diffently be back!

Absolutely perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

This is, hands down, the nicest Home Away home I've stayed at. Everything provided was high quality, not the second hand stuff I've been accustomed to with past rentals. The owners provided so many little "extras" that showed how much they appreciated our patronage. The Soulard location is just minutes from downtown without all of the traffic and noise. Bonus... you can walk to the Anheuser brewery! There's no doubt I will be returning.... every time I visit St Louis.

House was beautiful and immaculate

  • 5 of 5

The house was everything we hoped for. The owners met us there and were so nice and amenable while showing us around. We felt safe and the area surrounding the house was lively! We could walk to many different eat establishments.

The place is very well represented by the pictures. Soulard is a very safe and tranquil place and so close to downtown. Ray and Jane are great hosts. All was clean, they had a convenient food supplies available and their communication is timely and clear.

Map

Located in historic Soulard , one of the oldest neighborhoods in St. Louis, charm abounds. Take a leisurely stroll to enjoy the architecture of the old homes or to grab a bite to eat & drink at a number of quaint bars and restaurants within walking distance. Be sure to take in the Anheuser Busch Brewery tour and biergarten which is just three blocks from our home. Don't miss the Venice Cafe, just another block from the brewery. It's truly the most unique bar in St. Louis. Soulard Farmers' Market, one of the oldest in the country, is a fun place to visit on a Saturday morning. You will find a vast array of produce, poultry, meats, baked goods, etc, including many vendors selling their wares. If the weather is nice, there is no place better to dine outdoors than McGurk's beautiful patio, about a 10 minute walk from our place. Before you leave the area, be sure to check out Lafayette Square, an old neighborhood filled with beautiful Victorian homes, restaurants and shops.

Downtown is minutes away with all of its attractions: The Arch, Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village, the National Blues Museum, City Museum, Scottrade Center, Washington Avenue, the Old Courthouse, the Convention Center and more.

Forest Park with our famous St. Louis Zoo and Planetarium, Art Museum, and History Museum is about a 10 to 15 minute drive away. The beautiful Missouri Botanical Garden is a must see, also about a 10 minute drive away. There is a really nice public pool with water slide, diving board, diving platform, climbing wall, lazy river, toddler section with play structure and a concession stand. It is called The Pavilion at Lemay and is about a 15-20 minute easy drive down the highway from our place.

This is such a convenient location at the hub of all the major highways in St. Louis.
