Waterfront 2 House Complex With A Total Of 8 Bedrooms And 5 Bathrooms
About Susanne Wilkerson
My family has been visiting the Hill Country our whole lives even while living and raising our children in the Houston area. After the kids graduated from high school we wanted to retire in a small town setting that still offered some big city activities close by. Most importantly water and outdoor excursions.
Susanne Wilkerson purchased this House in 2004
Why Susanne Wilkerson chose New Braunfels
We were always drawn to New Braunfels. The people here are honest and friendly. There is always something to do and the climate of the area allows for year around outdoor activities. When the opportunity arose for us to own land in such a beautiful setting we were thrilled. We have put a lot of work and sweat into building our dream ranch.
What makes this House unique
Lake McQueeney is a hidden gem. You can drive into town and float the Guadalupe River in many locations but our section of the river is peaceful and serene. The tree swing is quintessential hill country and being able to put the Kayaks in the water for a leisure ride upstream is by far my most favorite happy place.

Best Stay Ever!
The pictures of this property do not do it justice! It's beautiful and updated and there are directions for everything. Our company retreat was perfect in this location. 10/10 FOR SURE!
Thank you Patti for being an excellent group and I'm glad we exceeded your expectations. The property is spread out nicely for large groups and we try to add new activities regularly!!!
Great place for large groups of all ages!!
Susanne was fabulous to work with!! The homes were comfortable, clean, and well stocked with kitchen supplies, toiletries, linens and beach towels. The outdoor kitchen is absolutely wonderful and has a large tv with an area for eating and relaxing together. The kids had a great time making homemade pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven. There were numerous games for all ages such as ping pong, bocce and bean bag toss. The pool and hot tub are beautiful and several floats were available for our use. The kayaks & river swing were a huge hit for our family. Equipment has been well maintained and included various sizes of life jackets. Strolling out to visit the cows and miniature donkey was an added pleasure for our group. We would highly recommend High Bank Ranch for your next large group gathering!!!
Your family gathering was an awesome group to have at the ranch and thank you for the beautiful review. We try to have the extras to keep our guests stays as much like home as possible. The cows/donkeys have missed you sense you left. They are at the fence every evening in the summertime looking for Watermelon treats!!
clean and well kept. One thing shower floor in main bedroom shower very slick. One night no hot water.
The shower in the Master Suite has its own hot water heater that is "tankless" because of the large jacuzzi hot tub. It needs lots of water pressure so the shower nozzle has to be fully turned on and than backed up a few notches to adjust the heat. I will add a written note with these instructions to the bathroom area. I have also added shower mats. Thank you for the "heads up". I wouldn't have known about these episodes without notices from my renters.
Fantastic time. Very relaxing. Enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and river. Something for everyone. Our family loves to cook so the outdoor kitchen has everything we needed to prepare all types of meals. No question that we will rebook for our 3rd year. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
We are so excited to see your reservation every summer. I’m glad you enjoy the outdoor kitchen!
This was our third year in a row to vacation here and will definitely come back.
Thank you again for being such wonderful guests!! We appreciate you every time.
Wonderful Reunion at HBR
HBR was far beyond our expectations in every way. Susanne’s personal pride in the property is evident in all aspects. The property is clean, well equipped, well maintained and beautiful! Susanne even adds notes throughout the facility to further explain needed details and is quick to respond to any questions. We look forward to staying at HBR in the future!
Thank you Mary for the glorious review!!! My favorite part of your review was our sense of pride in the upkeep of the property. You were awesome quests and I'm honored that you picked our ranch for your family festivities!
In the heart of Texas Hill Country, New Braunfels is conveniently located and has an abundance of life activities. Water adventures on the Guadalupe and the Comal continue to drive tourism and the proximity to Canyon Lake provides a haven of water activities from tubing and rafting to fishing and kayaking. If its a water park you are looking for there is world famous Schlitterbahn. Music is plentiful from Gruene Hall to the American Music Jam. We are home to Texas' oldest baker, oldest dance hall, and Wurstfest (an annual 10-day salute to sausage and our German heritage). If you are in the mood for shopping, there is the outlets in San Marcos or antiques and boutiques in downtown New Braunfels. The scenery is picturesque and bring your camera for Landa Park. If a little adventure is needed check out Natural Bridge Caverns and drive-thru safari which is only 18 miles away.
