About Lynette Adams
As an Idaho native, I grew up in Idaho as well as completed my BA here. I returned to Idaho after receiving my graduate degrees and started teaching at Boise State University in the Business School. I 'retired' last January and am currently enjoying living full time on our ranch.
Why Lynette Adams chose Cascade
We fell in love with this property after first seeing it on cross country skis in February with 2-3 feet of snow. The beauty of the water, mountains and snow covered scenery enchanted us. We skied all along Big Creek, but couldn't get to the Island to see it--we were so enamored with the rest of it, we bought it without seeing the Island or much of the Payette River. This included selling our house in Boise and moving to Cascade full time.
What makes this Apartment unique
We are in a beautiful mountain valley at about 5000'. I drove through this area on my way to the University of Idaho from southern Idaho. I always thought this valley would be the a fantastic place to live given the environment and the recreational opportunities that abound here. It only took about 18 years, but here we are!! Wandering the trails on the Island or watching our elk herd migrate to the Island each morning is the type of enchantment we would like to share with you.

Island Ranch Retreat is an absolutely lovely getaway, true to the description and other reviews. We will definitely be back! Very clean, light and airy and spacious, perfect for a family of five with 3 kids. We loved the wood stove but even if you didn't use it, the place would still be warm and cozy. Everything you need is provided, including loads of firewood! Thank you! If you like getting away from it all and the crowds, this is the place to go. Lynette and Harry are neat people; Harry was very gracious in showing us around and even gave us a tour of the property. Lynette is very flexible and accommodating, thank you so much. We really appreciated being able to explore the property, we went on walks every day and oohed and aahed over the beauty and solitude. The view from the picture window is unbelievable. Such a neat place.
Thank you Harry and Lynette for all of the extras and for your time. Much appreciated!
Your review made us feel fantastic as this is exactly the experience we are excited about providing!! We thoroughly enjoy our area and totally enjoy sharing it. Thank you for the kind words, and we certainly hope that you do come and stay with us again!!
Great property, amazing view and awesome hosts
The property was amazing, the view was breath taking and the pictures don't show all the beauty. The apartment was huge and had everything we needed for our stay. I've never slept so comfortable not staying in my own bed. The host were very accommodating and super nice.
We went to Brundage and ski/snowboard one day and the next, we went to the local hot springs. I recommend the hot springs, especially after snowboarding the day before!
Can't wait to return for another breath of fresh air!
The slow life: fresh air, mountain views, the sounds of wildlife, s'mores over the fire pit and starry nights. Truly a getaway and reset without traveling too far from Boise. We took our three kids with us so they could experience quiet, catch frogs, play in the sand and moo back and forth with the cows. The ranch is a rustic gem. In addition, the apartment is very spacious, charming, clean and stocked very well. We could see that a lot of thought has gone into making the place a comfortable and easy stay. As if that wasn't enough, our hosts Harry & Lynette were just the kind of people you'd want to chat with and enjoy a glass of wine with under the stars - oh wait, we did do that :) They let us explore on our own, but were happy to jump in and help. What a truly special place. Thank you!
Great property and a great time -
We had a great time - we actually had the property to ourselves as the owners were out of town. They made sure we were taken care of and the cabin was great. The ranch was a wonderful wonder land. Our family had a fun and would like to rent the cabin again.
We loved our stay at the beautiful Three Island Ranch. The views from the large picture windows in the great room looking out across the property were nothing short of stunning, and a handy pair of binoculars afforded close-up views of hawks and other wildlife. It felt very private, without another building in sight. Harry Adams was a great host and he and his wife seem to have lived a rich, fascinating life; very good people. The apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable. This place reminded me of the solar houses my dad and grandparents built back in the 80's, so I may be especially partial. There were plenty of pans, dishes, and various cooking contraptions, and even a delicious bag of complimentary whole bean coffee and a yummy bottle of red wine. While there we swam in lake Cascade and visited Gold Fork Hot Springs, one of the nicest springs I've ever visited. The pools were clean and surrounded by the smells of wild sage, honeysuckle, and pine... paradise. We definitely plan to go back; hopefully some time in the winter to try cross country skiing and take advantage of the beautiful wood burning stove in the apartment... and for a whole week at least! Don't miss this one!
