We renovated our home for two years to make sure everything was just right. Staying at our loft is like staying at one of the finest boutique hotels in NY, but with all of the comforts of home and the surroundings of this great, chic and historic neighborhood. Two wonderful bedrooms with hotel linens, a den with queen sleep sofa and 40' flat screen TV, open modern kitchen with 6 burner range and island that looks onto a large dining living room with four 6 x 10' south facing windows, brick wall and 14' ceiling. The master has a king bed and new en suite marble spa bathroom with 6' tub and large walk in shower. The second bath is Italian tile with 2 pedestal sinks and 6' Kohler tub/shower. The 8 foot solid core doors throughout and ebony floors glow when the south sun hits them late morning. We have central air and heat, Liebherr fridge, Bosch dishwasher, Frigidaire washer dryer and other top of the line appliances. The master bedroom has a 5 x 9 foot sliding solid core door with smoke glass panel. Gorgeous high quality linens throughout.
We are a downtown couple in the arts with two school aged children. We have lived in downtown Manhattan for over 20 years.
Tricia Joyce purchased this apartment in 2009
We've lived here long enough to tell you honestly how we fit into the local landscape. This loft is new, which is unusual for this neighborhood. We built it from scratch six years ago - so you have all of the charming historical features of a downtown landmark loft; 14 ft ceilings, maple floors, 8' foot solid core doors, four, 5 x 10' windows and creaky crooked steps - but with fantastic top of the line finishes. We think bathrooms are very important when traveling and our master bath is brand new with a huge spa tub for two, and a large separate walk in glass shower with a clerestory window that draws beautiful daylight into the room. The open kitchen is a dream so you can talk to your guests when cooking and everyone can gather round the island, where everything inevitably happens. We love that the TV watching crowd can have their own room so not everyone has to watch that is in the apartment. It's a 3rd floor walk up that faces south (the back) and so is pin drop quiet, unlike most downtown lofts. The south light keeps the space beautifully lit, calm and cheerful. This loft is truly home away from home.
We are right in the center of Tribeca. Everything is within a couple of blocks of the apartment. Its a short walk to Nobu, Tiny's, Odeon and 8 subway lines to whisk you to the theatre, museums, all over the city - in less than 15 minutes. We are 2 stops from Times Square, Grand Central and Brooklyn as well. It is probably one of the most conveniently located neighborhoods in the city on top of being one of the most historical and quiet. With a Cook's kitchen, Master Bedroom with en suite spa bath and walk in closet you'll feel like you are in a high end hotel but with the conveniences of a modern home. There is a comfortable queen pullout in the den so that you can bring the whole gang. Sleeps 5-6.
The pictures do not do this place justice. Beautiful flat, great floorplan for our group of 5. The host was super nice, walking us through the house and showing us where everything was. We really felt like locals, and we enjoyed exploring Tribeca, Soho, and downtown. We had an awesome stay and would definitely stay here again!
We are family of 5 from Vancouver, BC (kids: 17/ 15/ 11) and will echo prior reviews lauding the loft/layout etc. However accurate those reviews are we wish to provide comments from each of us: kids and parents in their own words:
Maeve (11): Our special NY place. Groovy with best bunk beds ever. Modern brick and could find places to play
Clare (15): An Oasis. Fresh/Gorgeous. A modern hideaway. Loved being in a home with kids books as made us feel more like locals than tourists with backpacks.
Will (17): Far enough away from the crush of NYC but close enough to get there.
Michele (Mom): In the middle of real NYC. Steps to restaurants/bars/shops that are local use. Unbelievably quiet. LOVED the quality of air (AC or filter ??). Tricia made us feel like a friend using her flat / both with vast amount of info before our arrival; meeting us on site and giving us updates /ideas along the way.
Andrew (Dad); All the above and more. The hood rocks (morning walk to Laughing Man). The flat itself is even more than meets the eye / sparking clean; spacious and truly an EPIC NYC experience.
Likely, future possible guests/renters will read all these reviews and weigh pros/cons. There aren’t any of the later.
Big shout out to Tricia and family for sharing with us.
The Tribeca Loft is truly picturesque. It is as beautiful as the pictures and then some. The space is laid out so well and allows for plenty of coming and going.
There were five of us and it seemed to fit just perfect. The owners have tastefully updated and restored the space. Its top notch. The master bedroom / bath is a beautiful space too. Loved...... this loft..
The neighborhood is ideal ! The owners were very helpful with recommendations and getting us set up. Such a delight!!
Will definitely be back : )
We loved staying in this loft! The location is awesome and the space is beautiful! Every detail was thought of and the owner was so lovely and attentive. I felt like we were staying with family. Thank you!!
We are a family with two girls - 11, 15 years old - from Amsterdam capital of The Netherlands. We stayed in this beautiful loft in the summer of 2014 and we had a great stay. Location is good. Nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. Close to subway. Good opportunity for a morning run. Appartment is great.
We fited nicely in the appartement. The lay out of this beautiful space is very smart. That with the high ceilings makes the place very roomy. The apartment is exactly like the photo's are showing. Value for money and as returning VRBO customers we have a good idea about prices.
The lady that rented us the apartment is living here with her family of four and provided us with everything we needed. It is normally their home and it became our home for a whole week :-) She was very caring and gave us a warm welcome.
We certainly will come back!
Our comfortable, modern, sophisticated, 140 year old loft is in the heart of Tribeca. It's the perfect location to enjoy your vacation in New York City. We are within a few blocks of 8 subway lines that can whisk you away to Times Square, Grand Central, Upper East Side, Upper West side, Brooklyn and the Village in less than 15 minutes. We have all the best restaurants right outside of our door.
This is an apartment where you can really relax, from the moment you walk into our spacious warm loft. We are both in the arts so our home is full of photography and painting, and yet is simply done so you can relax and enjoy yourself.
The master bedroom is very private and has a king sized bed and ensuite spa bath with brand new 6 foot tub, Alabastro marble tile and gorgeous large glass shower with clerestory window. The second bedroom has modern custom bunk beds, two desks and large closets. The Den/office/TV room has a fold-out queen sized sleep sofa with a new foam mattress and 40' flat screen Samsung LCD TV. The kitchen is wide open to the dining, living room areas and features a Liebherr fridge, 6 burner range and Bosch dishwasher. We have a wash closet with stacked washer dryer and all supplies you could need. We have ultra fast wi fi, and we get good reception from all wireless carriers in the apartment.
If you are traveling with children, we have a plethora of games, toys and books. If not, we tuck the toys away and all you have to do is enjoy your modern urban surroundings.
The loft is pin drop quiet as we face the back, but exposure is south so the loft gets nice light throughout the day. We are 2 flights up in a walk up building (there is actually an elevator to the 5th floor if you prefer to walk down)
Tribeca also has access to eight subway lines within a couple blocks, and a taxi awaits you at every corner.
We have wonderful parks on the river after a long day of sightseeing and restaurants of every style and ethnicity you can imagine to relax and unwind at. Tribeca has a wide selection of child friendly as well as romantic high end dining to offer.
