About Ariela

After living nine (9) years in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, I have decided to return back to Curaçao, my mother's birth country. The main reason that I came back is that I never came back home after finishing my studies that I have accomplished in The Netherlands, UK and Spain. I also missed the nice unique beaches, the Happy-Hours at the Wet 'n Wild Beach and Mambo Beach.

I wanted to do something back for the island in this case in the tourism industry, but unfortunately I did not got a chance to work in the Tourism Bureau. So I became a Brand Manager of several international brands that allowed me to do something back for the island. I have managed to make the entire "Handelskade" PINK during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A lot of people that visited my island had taken pictures of something I have accomplished.

Now that I have two little boys I try to give them as much as I can of the island like for instance enjoy the water of the beaches and enjoy the good life that this island can offer you.

They say if you drink the water of this island you will never go away.

Ariela purchased this house in 2013

Why Ariela chose Willemstad

My place is a new holiday house in a small gated community next to Club Seru Coraal. What makes this place so special are: The nice clean air and breeze of the area, the natural park of Sint Joris and Koraal Tabak, Away from the traffic of the Willemstad Area, enjoying the ocean view at the shores of north part of the island Koraal Tabak, hiking or mountain biking in Sint Joris Area, it is near by a lot of supermarkets and small mini-markets, 15 min away from Willemstad and everything.

This lovely holiday house is located in the quiet area where you do not have the island traffic jam and where you can breath fresh pure air (away from the pollution of the oil refinery) . The Historic City Center and the first few beaches are only 10 km away.

The place is ideally for mountain bikers that want to discover the area of St Joris, kayaking, ATV tours, cycling and kite surfing.

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and with everything you need for a pleasant stay on the island.

The house has the nice European and Caribbean touch that makes you feel like home. I am trying to make the house as cozy as possible so that you can enjoy your stay here on the island.

What makes this house unique

The breeze of the north part of the island passes away while staying at my place. Pure air away from the pollution of the oil refinery ! Country side! Far away of all traffic jams and too many people. Your holiday house is near several attractions that might be very interesting for your stay.

1. Outdoor activities such as water sports like for instance wake boarding, paddle boarding, surfing, and kite boarding at the St. Joris recreation natural park.

2. The island's Ostrich Farm and Aloe Farm are just 5 min. from the house's address.

3. Local artists workshops are just 5 min away (Serena's Chichi Workshop and Jean Kiridongo)

The best way to get around the island is to rent a car. There is a bus stop for Public Transport like 5 min by walk, but there is no guarantee that the bus arrives according the schedule.

My place is near the natural recreation park of Sint Joris. Nice place to go by mountain bike or do kite surfing and kayaking in the Sint Joris Bay. Check the pictures for further reference.

I highly recommend to go to Klein Curacao (Small Curacao) if you have the time to do so. The beach is there super nice and you might have the chance to swim with the turtles.

Mountain Biking at St. Joris Baai / Koraal Tabak Area

This route takes you from the thick green mangroves along the shore of St. Joris Bay towards Koraal Tabak. Kueba Koraal Tabak (the cave) is well worth visiting. A refreshing wind blasts through here, and you can sit back and enjoy the fantastic view. Once you reach the rugged north coast, you are again confronted with a greatly varied landscape. The waves crash against the cliffs with momentous force and you'll be biking over coral rock here. You can choose between riding a short circle with some challenging hills at the end, or bike further along the windmills in the direction of Ronde Klip.

My place is near the natural recreation park of Sint Joris. Nice place to go by mountain bike or do kite surfing and kayaking in the Sint Joris Bay. Ch

Curaçao's longest and whitest beach is on Klein Curaçao, an uninhabited island eight miles off the southeast coast and two hours by boat. Dive operators and charter boats take passengers out to the oversized volcanic rock for beach parties, cookouts, and fantastic diving. The shore is covered in soft white sand and the water is crystal clear, but there is little shade. The northeastern side routinely has calm water with gentle waves. If you want to go over here, check with dive operators or sailboat charters offering trips featuring snorkeling, refreshments, and usually a picnic or barbecue lunch.

THE CAVE OF “KORAAL TABAK”

This Earthcache will bring you to one of the less known caves in Curacao.

The Cave of Koraal Tabak can be found just below the top of the Seroe Kibrá Picá on 40 metres height. It is a dry and windy cave in a small and highly cavernous and fissured remnant of the Higher Terrace with an altitude of about 40 m.

The length of the cave, parallel to the cliff is about 50 m.

The cave is located near the ruins of the manor house ‘Koraal Tabak’. The caves were once inhabited by Arawak Amerindians, the original inhabitants of Curacao. The current residents are colonies bats. In case of danger or any threats in the cave, the bats will fly away. But no worries the bats on Curacao are not infected with rabies. Needless to say that you should deal respectfully with the habitat of the bats. There are 8 species of bats on Curacao.
