About Robert Fitzpatrick

We are a retired American/French couple, deeply involved in the arts, multilingual and multicultural. We divide our time between France and the United States. Cities are a passion for us and a constant source of discovery.

Robert Fitzpatrick purchased this apartment in 2012

Why Robert Fitzpatrick chose 2nd Arrondissement Bourse

Over the years we have lived in five different neighborhoods in Paris, and this is our favorite. We did a total renovation in 2012. We bought this property because it is on the top floor of the building, with lots of light, gorgeous views, private and totally quiet. We also liked the fact that there are 5 different neighborhoods within easy walking distance, and a fantastic array of restaurants, cafes (even Starbucks), concert halls, museums and theaters nearby. As movie buffs we also liked that the Rex Cinema is a complete multiplex including the largest cinema (2800 places) in Europe.

What makes this apartment unique

a romantic get away, a wonderful place to celebrate an important birthday or anniversary, a place to write, relax, listen to music. A quiet oasis in a very vibrant neighborhood. An art filled space to please the eye. A home, not a hotel, where you can be a Parisian--even if only for a week or a month--and enjoy one of the great cities of the world.

average rating of 4.888889 based on 18 reviews

The apartment was spacious, quite well appointed with comfortable beds. Great reception on arrival.

  • 4 of 5

We loved the views of the Eiffel tower from almost every room. Living in the area of Montegueril was lovely as it was not full of tourists but we found it difficult to find the correct metro and bus stops. Could suggest providing a mapof the areawith metro and bus stops. It was great having Bertino show us how everything worked as French machines etc were strange for Canadians. The bedding was very clean and fresh. The elevator and doors worked well. It was a great apartment for our stay. Sally and Dorothy

Excellent apartment in a great location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I love escaping to Paris. This apartment is located in a very central location. Additionally, it is well furnished with a comfortable bed. The building was very quiet with an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower. The owner, Bob, is easy to work with. We would not hesitate to stay there again the next time we got o Paris.

Stunning View of the Eiffel Tower and Fabulous Neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

My husband, teenage daughter, and I enjoyed our stay in this spacious and comfortable apartment. In addition to its stunning view of the Eiffel Tower, the apartment is located in a lovely, non-touristy neighborhood, yet walking distance to many major attractions, such as the Louvre and the Le Marais historical district. It is also steps or a few blocks to several Metro stops and a taxi stand. We enjoyed the diverse eateries, restaurants, bakeries, cheese shops, fruit stands, grocery and convenience stores, and wine bars within steps or a short walking distance. These places were frequented by friendly locals as well as some tourists. We would love to visit Paris and rent this apartment again!

Fabulous location and flat! Central Paris 4EZ access to best destinations!

  • 4 of 5

This is a great apartment on the top floor of a secure apartment building just off the main drag...a walker's paradise! Restuarants, shopping, zero commission money exchange, ATMs, metro station, convenience store, and grocery stores within a block or two. Museums, historic landmarks, hop on and off boat tours of the city, are all within a mile of the flat...hence the Art Lover's Zen Paradise moniker! We fell in love with the Nespresso machine, the location, the wonderful sites, the people, and the food, not necessarily in that order. Bertino was very helpful in giving advice about our site seeing goals (he was totally spot on about the gardens in the palace at Verseilles...much too large to see in a single day especially if you want to see the palace too!). Bertino was very responsive to our call for help when the toilet clogged up...note to USA travelers...hold the flush button down until the toilet actually flushes...don't just push the button and run on this The plumbing in the water closet (the toilet room) is a bit funky, as the pipes are visable above the floor, but more importantly, the place was not as clean as it was pictured here (the reason for a lost star on my rating). The bedding and furniture was clean and comfortable, but the floors were not clean (especially along the baseboards where a great deal of dust had accumulated). That may be a result of leaving the windows open while occupying the unit, as there was only a single portable air conditioning unit with the water collecting tank and hot air vent unit snaking through a cracked french door leading to a windowsill ledge (think tiny terrace). We didn't really need the air conditioner much in July (we live in NM). The shower stall had some black mold in the grouting (bleach kills this and a bit of scrubbing removes it), and there was also considerable dust in this room. The sinks in the bathroom and kitchen did not look clean, and there was a fresh brown stain in the toilet upon arrival. We had a difficult crossing of the pond with many trials and tribulations making us 4 days late on our arrival in Paris, so our first impression was not great. However, as time went on we are warmed very quickly to this apartment, the neighborhood, the location, and the people we met there. It was a truly wonderful experience to stay here, and we plan to go back again next time we are in Paris.

This is a Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

This 8th-floor apartment is spacious, filled with art, comfortable furniture and a small kitchen, and is suitable for 2-4 people who will share one bath with a WC next to it. The location in the 2nd Arr. is close to Rue Montorgueil, a fabulous shopping/people-watching pedestrian street, and the getting-famous Rue du Nil, home to Frenchie Restaurant and its off-shoots like Frenchie-to-Go (you should). You will be right in the heart of the action, close to the Metro, moderately close walking distance to the Seine, the Marais, etc. This does mean you may hear construction noise during the day. The owners are very attentive and helpful. The views of the Eiffel Tower never get old, either! Plus, AC in the living area is a huge amenity for summer visits.
