Welcome to our lake house in the mountains! This is our vacation home, so we treat it with care. We like to believe that because of that, you’ll find it nicer than the rental-only houses available.
Our house is directly on the public beach of the largest lake in our community. You literally walk out of the house, through a short path through the trees, and you’re on the beach! Besides the gorgeous lake, the beach has a playground, picnic tables, and bbqs for everyone’s use.
The 2000 square foot house is clean and modern with a nautical décor, and features brand new hardwood flooring. There are four bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and two full bathrooms (one with a shower/tub, one with a shower stall). One bedroom has a small sofabed so if you’re travelling with children, they can stay with you in your room. We have a large, sunny great room with an 8-person dining table and living room with a wood-burning fireplace and ipod dock. The kitchen is fully equipped with range, microwave, pots & pans, dishes, hand mixer, toaster oven, coffee maker, utensils and more. Sliding doors from the living room lead onto a large uncovered deck overlooking the lake. Doors from the dining room and kitchen lead onto the screened-in porch, with another 8-person dining table. Eat in the clear mountain air! There is a propane bbq on the deck as well for those summer cook-outs!
The top floor has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Downstairs, you’ll find the 4th bedroom (with the sofabed), and the 2nd bathroom. In addition, there is the large family room. Here you’ll find the 42” flat screen TV with cable, a DVD player, and Netflix. Also a wood-burning stove, an air-hockey table, a game table, and numerous books, board games, and family appropriate DVDs for your enjoyment. We also have high speed wi-fi throughout the house. Sliding doors from the family room lead to the beach, and your own private fire pit! Mmmm . . . s ‘mores . . .
We are family and dog friendly. We have provided a high chair, a pack and play (with an extra thick special mattress, not those thin cardboard ones that usually come with them!), a gate for the stairs, and baby/toddler books and toys. Feel free to bring your furry family members along too! Doggie bed and bowls available. But please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach.
The house is located in the gorgeous community of Locust Lake Village. This community includes 5 lakes, 3 with white sandy beaches and lifeguards throughout the summer. There is a snack bar, playground, and picnic area at each lake. The community has activities and classes planned throughout the year. Other recreational facilities in the community include: A baseball field, a basketball court, shuffleboard, bocci ball, and even its own skiing hill and ice skating. Also, Locust Lake was rated 'Best in the Country Trout Fishing' by Pennsylvania Game and Fish. The Village is surrounded by 21,000 acres of Brady’s State Gamelands—you’re truly in the woods!
Locust Lake is a perfect location to all activities and attractions, all year round. This property is conveniently 10 minutes away from Jack Frost/Big Boulder Ski Resort, which has tubing, downhill skiing, and snowboarding. Split Rock, a 10 minute drive, is a resort with the H2ooooooh water park, mini golf, a movie theater, and more. Camelback Ski/Water Park, horseback riding, paintball, whitewater rafting, golfing are all within 10-20 minutes away, in the Lehigh River Gorge and Hickory Run State Park. The 100-store Tannersville Outlets are also only a 20 minute drive. NASCAR Pocono Raceway and the Mount Airy Casino are also only minutes away! For a longer day out, head over to the historic and quaint town of Jim Thorpe, or even to Philadelphia, Sesame Place, or Hershey Park.
This village is adjacent to a main highway, Route 940, only 5 miles from Routes 80 and 280. It is close to a shopping center containing an excellent grocery store. There are numerous dine-in and take-out restaurants nearby. A short drive down Rt 940 takes you to a shopping center which includes a Wal-Mart and a Lowe’s.

The house is in the perfect location, close to everything and lake view amazing. Screen porch is where we ate every evening for dinner and the deck perfect place to just relax. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need. Matt answered questions promptly. Thank you Matt & Abbie for offering your house to rent.
Great rental, steps away from the lake/beach. We enjoyed the nautical decor which is not common for a Pocono rental. The enclosed porch for eating was also a really great bonus! It was helpful having the baby gates, pack n play, and baskets of toys for our 1 year old. A playground for all ages is just steps away.
We stayed over labor day weekend; there were many activities going on down at the beach (bbq, lobster bake, boat race, bonfire w/ dj). The beach was crowed and the DJ was loud until 11pm on Saturday night. If you were looking for those activities, this would be THE best house out of all of the rentals in this community. I'm sure other weekends are much more quiet. We did not use the tennis courts, but passed them when driving in and they were in excellent condition.
We would stay here again in the future.
Access to the lake is awesome!! Kitchen is stocked very nicely with anything you will need. Love the decks, the furniture is comfortable. There are many hiking trails in the area. Matt was very prompt in responding to various requests. I have already recommended this property
Our family of 8 had a great time staying at this property! The open living room/dining room/kitchen is perfect for everyone to hang out in and the screened in porch made eating outside each day fun! The beach is literally just a few steps away and the kids had a blast.....beach and water are very clean and the kids spent hours down there playing. Location is very close to both CamelBack, where we went zip lining and rode the mountain coaster, and Split Rock Resort, where we went kayaking and boating. Matt & Abbie were so easy to communicate with and booking was a breeze. To sum it up, book now, you won't regret it!
We took my parents on a trip to celebrate their 50th Anniversary and were a group of 6 adults and 2 children. We had other plans in the area but never wanted to leave the house. We were literally steps from the lake and could run back to the house anytime we needed. The kids loved the game room and we enjoyed relaxing on both of the decks. The lake was quiet and beautiful and the lifeguards even organized games for the kids. Highly recommended for a family vacation!
The location of this gorgeous house is absolutely perfect, directly off Pine Lake! The house itself is a real home away from home. We take a family vacation together every year with kids and grandkids. This is the first time ever that we actually used the items in the kitchen. Opening the cabinets here was like opening them at home...very clean! The dining table was large enough to accommodate all of us and there were also enough chairs for us to have our meals together.All the beds were very comfortable. It was a great bonus that linens were supplied...actually not just supplied...the sheets were on the beds when we arrived!! The washer and dryer appear to be brand new and large. What a bonus when traveling with kids!!
Outside the fire pit is almost right at the beach and Matt the owner was sure to have a hose available for us per Locust Lake regulations. Right outside the yard is the playground area and beach. Pine Lake has an inflatable iceberg for the kids to climb and jump into the lake. There's also a spacious front deck with the full lake view. And a large screen room on the side with two picnic tables. This came in very handy during a couple evening showers.
From start to finish working with Matt was a great experience!! We will definitely be back!!
