Experience was great. Stockton Springs is a charming little town and centrally located to Acadia, Belfast and Bangor. We would stay here again and highly recommend.
Wonderful guests. Left the cottage in great shape. We hope they return again to Saltwind cottage. We were very pleased that they came to our concert.

Mid coast Maine/ Penobscot Bay. Our cottage sits on lovely Cape Jellison. It has the remote feel of an island with none of the ferry hassle. Fort Point State Park has a historic lighthouse, nice trails, great water views and picnic areas as well as ruins from the fort. Stockton Harbor, one mile away, offers swimming, sailboat and lobster boat watching. Cape Jellison road is a 5 mile loop which is great for bike riding. Close by is Sandy Point beach which has nice hiking trails and a wide expanse of beach for swimming and beach combing. The nearby town of Belfast has quaint shops, great restaurants, a natural food co-op, and lots of festivals and music. Belfast has an old fashioned downtown movie theater. The waterfront has lots of boat activity . Acadia National park is less than 50 miles away and makes for a great day trip. Bar Harbor, Cadillac mountain, Sand beach and ocean drive have so much to offer. Breath taking views everywhere, great hiking, swimming, and horseback riding. Whale watching, shopping and fine dining are available in Bar Harbor. Searsport, 7 miles away, offers a look into this area's rich maritime heritage at the Penobscot Maritime Museum. Also in Searsport is Sears Island with miles of hiking trails and shoreline great for birding, picnics and motor free recreation. Also nearby is the scenic Penobscot Narrows Bridge, with an observatory that affords breath taking views of the Penobscot river and bay. Next to the bridge is Fort Knox State Park, an example of mid 19th century granite coastal fortification. Camden, with its popular boutiques, schooner cruises, and picturesque waterfront, is less than 30 miles away.
