It's beautiful here!
Our three story, fully updated 2BR, 1.5 BA beach home was built in 1904, and is located right on the waterfront at the very end of Hake Road. The house is built into a hillside and there are about 25 stairs from the parking area to the house.
Incredible views from anywhere you sit and beautiful sunsets. You can anchor your boat at our buoy.
Master Bedroom queen bed, full closet, widow's walk.
Small bedroom with a twin bunk bed, Half-Bath, Full Kitchen, and Living Room/Dining Room with double sleeper sofa. French Doors open out onto covered porch with a hammock and a porch swing.
Family room with large sectional couch (pulls out to a double bed), flat screen TV and queen size futon. Full bathroom, mini bar with refrigerator/microwave. French doors open onto deck with hot tub.
Off the ground floor deck there is a small lawn which leads to a dock over the water. There are also stairs from the lawn to the beach. At high tides, the water comes right up to the seawall so there is limited beach access.
Due to the size of the house, septic, and hot water tank, we have limited our home to 6 people max. If your party contains more than 6 people, you may want to look for a larger property.
We're a family of four from Seattle that loves spending time together and enjoying nature. Amanda is a Finance Manager for city of Seattle and Eric is an Oncology Nurse at UW Medical Center. Ruby and Jeremy are awesome kids and experts at having fun.
Eric Rucker purchased this house in 2012
We've been looking for the perfect Vashon beachfront home for years. Vashon is a special place with a vibrant arts community and extensive natural beauty. We wanted a place that was as sunny as possible - it had to be west facing. Our home has direct sun exposure from about 10:30 in the morning until sunset. We also wanted a place that had a very natural view with exposure to lots of wildlife. We regularly enjoy seeing eagles, deer, fish, seals, otters, various waterfowl and lots of sea creatures along the beach.
A fully updated 1904 Beach House. Three decks to hang out on! A full size hot tub! Beautiful views of Quartermaster harbor from every deck. And about an hour drive/ferry to downtown Seattle. Did we mention that it's really beautiful here?
This home is nicely situated on the bay with beautiful views and decks. The new wooden deck and landing are a great place to hang out in the sun or watch the evening activity on the water. We enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen is well-stocked and easy to access. Bedrooms are nicely furnished and comfortable, even the bottom stairs fold-up bed is clean and comfortable. There is one full nicely furnished bathroom on the bottom floor, and a half-bathroom on the main floor. The owner is very responsive to email correspondence and I found that he is accommodating and friendly. The island life during summer is kick-back, with windy country roads and a charming main town site. Lots of scenery, beach walks, lighthouse, coffee house, and a few fun restaurants. We shopped for our groceries at the local downtown store and it was fully stocked with everything a person would want. Great deli, bakery, and produce sections! The Wednesday Farmer's Market was quaint, and the Saturday market was busy. We also enjoyed wine tasting at a local winery. Very relaxing vacation!
A great clean house in a wonderful location. We're fans and recommend the house to everyone who can negotiate the sixty somethings steps leading down to the house. It's quiet, cozy and has a fantastic hot tub. Stay there!
Eric was prompt to correspond and answer any questions.
This cute updated 1940s house was a perfect place for our family to stay. The home was very immaculate and the view of sound breathtaking. The hot tub was a great amenity.
Hall of our family resides in CA and the other half in West Seattle. We all decided to come to Vashon and had the great fortune to find such a great beach house. It has such charm - so many original features, pleasantly updated. The hot tub was a major plus for the kids! We enjoyed kayaking and searching for sand dollars which are in abundance. We will definitely come again!
We stayed over the Thanksgiving weekend. It was cold and blustery and the view was absolutely gorgeous. The kids loved walking down to the beach at low tide. They marveled at the abundant sand dollars, shells, and water fowl. The hot tub was luxurious, the kitchen was well equipped, and the beds were comfortable. We appreciated the old cottage feel and the fact that the owners have worked hard to update the home while keeping it's early 1900's charm. We enjoyed learning about the history of the home and the little beach neighborhood. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our visit to the lighthouse and ate a delicious meal at the Hardware Store. A good time!
