Honeysuckle House is a 4 bedroom, 2 shower room town house, sleeping 8 people.
Our home is well presented, convenient & comfortable - a 3 storey town house located close to shops, restaurants & pubs and is a 5 minute walk to the beach. Within walking distance are the downs, Steephill Cove, the botanic gardens and a lovely park.
We offer free wi-fi during your stay (and guest access to a Mac) and our 42" tv is connected to Sky TV.
The house is double-glazed and centrally heated and is nice and toasty in the winter but lovely and cool in the summer.
One of our shower rooms has a mini-bath, ideal for bathing small children but not big enough for adults to bath in (it's essentially a giant shower tray).
We have a lovely 'sun trap' courtyard at the rear of the property with seating for eight.
Nearby Ventnor Botanic Gardens "Basks in the microclimate of The Undercliff", one of the great gardens of Britain and one of our favourite places.
We're sandwiched between the downs and the English Chanel and the views in this area are stunning.
The Telegraph featured Steephill Cove among 'The 20 best hidden beaches in the UK' and it's walking distance from our home!
There's a bus stop within 50 yards from our house and a taxi rank a couple of hundred yards from our house (it's a small town though so there aren't always taxis there!).
Please note that we have no off-street parking. Nearby street parking is non-restricted during the winter (but not always easy to get a space) and restricted to one hour during the summer months. We tend to pull-up to the house to load/unload then move to one of the free 24 hour car parks within either a 3 minute or a 6 minute walk. Tourist parking permits can be purchased through the local council (we would be happy to arrange this for you).

Hi, I'm Clairey! I grew up on the Isle of Wight and my husband and I have lived in Ventnor for over ten years. We love our home town and adore exploring the local area with our family and friends. We've welcomed visitors through a home exchange site and other rental sites and have been lucky enough to receive some great reviews. It gives us great pleasure to welcome guests to our holiday home, allowing others to enjoy the house and area as much as we do. Travel has always been a big passion for myself and my husband, between us we've visited Ireland, France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Turkey, Hungary, Italy, Greece, Oman, The United Arab Emirates, Russia, The Canaries, Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt, Thailand, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada, Mexico, Grenada, Antigua and the Dominican Republic. Among our favourite destinations are the Alps and the Mediterranean and memorable visits include Istanbul, Yosemite, Mount Fuji, the Serengeti and the Lake District in the UK. We love meeting people from all over the world, it gives us great inspiration for future travel!
Clairey purchased this House in 2011
Why Clairey chose Ventnor
We were thrilled to bits when we had the opportunity to buy Honeysuckle House, one of the first things we did was time the 'journey' to the beach; 4 minutes from front door to sand underfoot, not bad! A wee bit slower with toddlers in tow and a wee bit faster with excited, hurrying older kids in tow but an average of four minutes. The house has a lovely feel to it, it's cool in the summer and cosy in the winter and it's very conveniently located, 2 minutes from town and walking distance to the downs and coastal paths - pretty much perfect!

Lovely, clean and modern, big TV!Seated 5 no problem. Lots to see in the area, welcoming touches appreciated. Parking was a bit of a problem, should have got island permit and used App better. Overall though lovely. Thanks to Clairey for contacting to check all OK.
Thanks for your review Mike, we really appreciate it. We're so pleased that you chose Honeysuckle House and that you and your family enjoyed your holiday and were comfortable. Thanks very much for leaving the house so clean and tidy for us!
Modern, spacious, very well equipped town house. Within easy walking distance of the sea front.
My family and I enjoyed our two week holiday in this comfortable property in Ventnor. The house had been very recently decorated and refurbished to a high standard, we were treated to a brand new kitchen and a comfortable, modern living room (which to our delight included a HUGE TV!).
The house was big enough to accommodate my family of 9 comfortably. My in laws slept in the master bedroom on the 2nd floor, and my husband and I slept in the smaller (but still comfortable) bedroom on the 2nd floor. My parents slept in the double bedroom on the 1st floor and my three children slept in the other bedroom on the 1st floor (using a bunk bed and travel cot).
Our hosts had very thoughtfully equipped the house with everything we could have possibly wanted to make our stay enjoyable and stress free. There were plenty of toys available to keep the children entertained and lots of things to make life with young children easier ie high chair, changing mat, nappy bin and steps in the bathrooms.
The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we could have possibly needed and we had access to vacuum cleaners, and clothes airers.
The location of the property is good, the seafront is a few minutes walk from the house and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs nearby.
Thanks for your kind words Nicola, we're so pleased you enjoyed your stay. It was a real pleasure to host you and your family. It was extremely considerate of you to leave the house in such a great condition and we greatly appreciated it. Should you ever decide to re-visit we'd be delighted to welcome you back! 😀
