Lovely!

Bridget was a wonderful host. She answered all of my questions prior to arriving Ireland. Upon arrival she had cookies, tea, coffee and milk for our family along with other musts to cook a meal. The cottage is off a main road so very safe for a family with children. Spacious front and backyard (both fenced with a gate and lighting for night time. The house was very clean, had a television, fast internet (wifi) and three bed rooms and three bathrooms...lots of fluffy towels which is always a must. Extra bedding, dishwasher, washer and dryer as well. There is a television in the master bedroom, two rooms have a full-sized beds and third bedroom has two single beds. Great location directly on the Ring of Kerry. Nearest village/city was Killogren, shopped for quick grocery items there at Aldi and at a shop next to nearest gas station. They were very accommodating to my needs. I traveled with my children alone and I had a problem with the front door-they came right over (10pmish) to ensure it was fixed and able to lock at night so I could sleep well safely. This cottage was the perfect location to see the Ring of Kerry, Cliffs of Moher (2hr 45 min), Cork( 1 1/2hrs), Gap of Dunlop, Killarney National Park/Killarney, great base for daily trips. My daughter was also locked in one of the bedrooms (she locked herself in accidentally) and Bridget acted quickly to retrieve the master keys, she was a delight! I would definitely stay here again, my children and I wanted to stay here forever. :) You are expected to pay for utilities, very inexpensive, we stayed for a week and it was about 30 euros. If you want space, privacy with access to a safe host, and a great location...this is your place. Thanks Bridget!

Immaculate bungalow in perfect location - bargain!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage we stayed in was not the one in these photographs but is adjacent and equally immaculate and well presented. It is luxuriously appointed and its location is perfect with glorious views from every window. I don't think we could have found better anywhere. Bridget is a very obliging and welcoming host - she loaned me a fan for my night-time 'hot flushes'. My grown-up daughter came with us and she is allergic to many household irritants - but she had absoutely no problems. And while we were there my husband broke his knee after a fall mountain-biking in Killarney National Forest. After a short hospital stay he came back to the cottage (with crutches and a full leg brace) where he managed really well as it is all on one level and so we did not have to go home early. Whether having breakfast in the rear garden on a gloriously sunny morning or watching the sunset over the mountains, it was a delightful time spent. Although the bungalows are in a row, the way they are arranged means they are never overlooked and therefore private. And the minor road to the cottage is not far from the main road and the cottages easy to spot from a distance so it was as stress free as anything could be.

Magnificent!

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from beautiful county Kerry with a stay at this cottage. It was fantastic! 3 bedrooms and baths, livingroom, dining room, kitchen. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything one could need and we even had scones, a cake, and milk at our arrival. Everything was immaculately clean and ready for our arrival. It did take us a while to find it but once you do, you'll love it. Our GPS didn't speak Irish, I guess. Every morning and evening the cows behind came to the fence to visit. The peace and quiet were great. The owner is right next door and always willing to help with whatever one may need (suggestions for restaurants, sights to see, shopping, etc.) She even gave me 3 recipes for Irish brown bread and there are two loaves in the oven as I type. Killorglin is only a short distace away and has great grocery shopping, restaurants, church, etc. Killarney is 20-30 minutes and is a wonderful town to visit. The cottage is right on the ring of Kerry but we chose to take a bus tour of it and the Dingle Peninsula. We were very glad we did as the roads are very, VERY narrow in spots and not being used to driving on the left would probably have insured an accident. The weather was fairly mild so we did not use a lot of gas or electric. In fact, we wound up shutting off the radiators. We did have a problem connecting to the internet but I suspect this was our US equipment because my phone with a foreign sim card had no problems. If you are trying to decide on a place to rent, I would highly recommend this cottage. You couldn't ask for a better house in a more placid place with a better owner than here. We loved it!
