We have been happily married for 16 years and have two wonderful boys ages 12 and 14. We love to spend time at our beach place every opportunity we have.
Property Owners purchased this house in 2012
We were looking for a private home in Hutchinson Island and fell in love with the beach community of single-family homes. Although we are still a few years away from retirement, we decided to make Hutchinson Island our future retirement home. We have always wanted a home on the beach with easy access to tennis, golf and restaurants.
Super nice home well laid out for families with separate den areas. House includes a lot of extras normally not present at a house or condo for rent. Nice area with a very private beach close by and easy to access. Owners good about staying in touch and making sure everything is all right with your stay. Located in residential area but close enough to city for shopping and dining. I would highly recommend this property.
I don't even know where to start. The owners thought of everything! The house was spotless upon arrival, with a basket of fresh fruit, a bottle of wine and the stereo playing softly. It was liking walking into paradise! The home is equipped with everything you would need: bicycles, beach chairs, coolers, beach caddie, games, etc. They did not leave anything out! Throughout our stay, I had several questions and texted Donna. She was very prompt in getting back to me and very helpful. The neighborhood is very quiet and lovely. I especially enjoyed the very short walk to the beach every morning. I would highly recommend renting this beach home if you are looking for luxury, quaintness and perfection all rolled into one. And at a reasonable rate! I would give it 10 stars if I could!
Our family of five teachers was looking for a comfortable, sunny, warm place to spend spring break. Our house rental in Hutchison Island turned out to be the perfect getaway spot. We had everything we needed and then some. We had close access to a quiet beach, pool, bikes, dining and other activities in the nearby park. The homeowners were so very accommodating. It was as if we were staying in our own home, very comfortable with everything we needed. We look forward to being able to return and enjoy ourselves again.
We (two senior couples) rented for two weeks in February and echo all the compliments from other reviewers. Excellent house and beach, and the owners are very attentive and responsive without being intrusive. Coming into Ft. Pierce from I-95, we were initially doubtful while driving through some areas that have seen better days, but once you cross the causeway onto Hutchinson Island, it's a different world and quite delightful. Lots of parks and beaches and just really nice. I do think the house is set up better for a family with kids than it is for two adult couples. The master bedroom (queen bed) and bath are spacious and excellent for one couple, but our other couple found the "second" main bedroom (full bed) and bath on the other side of the house to be a bit cramped for two adults. Even with that we were all well satisfied with our stay and highly recommend this house. The owners have gone above and beyond in providing most of what you will need for a delightful stay. Final note, the very helpful information notebook provided by the owners lists many good restaurants, but we would add 12A Buoy, which was our favorite.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your lovely home. The beach was so close and we found great restaurants nearby. We were surprised by how beautifully the home was decorated and furnished and you truly thought of everything. Thank you again for such a great experience. We will be returning in the future!!
My wife and I and our two kids, 5 and 1, stayed at this house last week and had a great time. It is a great house, very clean and spacious. The pool in the back yard was perfect and is screened in so bugs were not an issue. Also, the walk to the beach was a piece of cake. Just down the street, past two houses and across an empty lot and you're there, maybe two minute walk, even with the little man. No problem with the kids and beach stuff. Also, the owners had beach chairs, umbrella and even some toys in the garage to use which was very convenient.
As I said the house is in great shape. Very clean and looked like it had been recently painted. All one level with master bedroom on one side and two others on the other side of the house with the open kitchen/family room in the middle. There is also a formal living/dining room but we avoided it so as to keep the little man from breaking the breakables. (We did the kid proofing sweep before we let his little feet hit the ground.)
Also the owners are very friendly and accommodating. Always a phone call or text away. They even agreed to refund our money for the last night of our stay so we could get back to our daughter's first soccer game. They had a binder at the house with island info and menus from local restaurants.
There's a Publix grocery store about 15 minutes away in Fort Pierce with a small grocery store on the island about 5 minutes away. You can also get pizza delivered from Goodfella's which is located right on the island. Archies is a good spot for burgers and is kid friendly, at least during the day, right up the road. Other restaurants on the island as well. We only hit Mangrove Matties (sp?) and would not hit it again. Nice atmosphere, but very average food, especially for the money.
The house is located on a quiet street even though it is right off of A1A. Traffic noise was not an issue and the neighbors that we saw were very nice. We have stayed at other houses at the Outer Banks, NC and in Cozumel, MX and this one is right at the top of the list and I would highly recommend it.
Beach community with private beach access. Nearby attractions include a waterfront park three blocks away with basketball, tennis, picnic facilities, a giant playground, and public boat ramps. The island is quiet and perfect for a leisure stroll or bike ride. It has seaside restaurants, a super market, and two marine aquariums. A beautiful golf course and downtown Fort Pierce is a 10-minute drive with fun places to eat and always an activity going on. Beautiful views and friendly people. Great Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Fun for the whole family! Jaycee Park: About three blocks away with basketball, tennis, picnic facilities, a giant playground, and public boat ramps. Navy Seal Museum: Great history of the Seals and their beginnings in Fort Pierce. Very educational and has a scavenger hunt for the little ones. Lots of Navy Seals equipment, information, and facts. Also has a gift shop. Fort Pierce Inlet: Beautiful place to see the sunrise or watch the fisherman bring in their proud catch. Always something interesting going on.
Downtown Fort Pierce / Marina: Fun places to eat. Backus Museum and Gallery. Always an activity going on. Beautiful views and friendly people. Great Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Fun for the whole family.
Indian Hills Golf Course: A cornerstone of Fort Pierce since 1938. The Par 72 course, designed by Herbert Strong, challenges and welcomes golfers of all levels of play.
