|Minimum Stay||1 - 3 nights|
Aloha! We offer clean, comfortable, yet affordable, accommodations for up to two guests who prefer to spend more of their time (and money) enjoying the sights of Maui than on lavish resorts.
Great location. One bedroom studio in the heart of Kihei. We offer a clean two room studio. There is a coffee maker, mini refrigerator, toaster, and microwave, WiFi. The TV does not get the main channels but it has a built in DVD so you can rent DVDs and play them. There is a DVD cord so you can plug in your computer. Roku, and Netflick is included. Two beach chairs and four beach towels, fluffy white towels, hand towels and wash cloths, and hair dryer are provided for guests as well as a copy of Maui Revealed.
A magnificent ocean front sunset awaits you just across the street every evening, with well lighted ocean front pathways at Kalama Park and the Cove. Watch the surfers, stand up paddle boarders, kayaking on acres of well maintaned open spaces. Play tennis, volleyball, skateboarding, catch, (3 baseball fields) or just hang out on the lawn. There is even a skating rink where you can rent skates, pavilions and BBQ's.
A short drive to the south puts you in the heart of Wailea with upscale dining, shopping and more wonderful, world class beaches. You can also catch the Maui Bus.
Island Surf houses many great businesses. You can rent bicycles, get a manicure, spa treatment, or tattoo, book a scuba dive, rent surf boards, or eat a great plate lunch all without never leaving the building. It is within walking distance to Maui's awesome beaches, shops, restaurants, and surfing.
The Island Surf is well maintained. There is a beautiful, solar heated pool and BBQ area on the second floor. Every year the whales migrate from Alaska to the Hawaiian Islands to give birth to their young. The Lobby has two elevators. The parking is free. The building is handicapped and wheelchair accessible (may have limitations). No Smoking is allowing in unit. No surfboards allowed in unit.
I came to Maui in 1970 and knew I did not have to look any further. I fell in love with Maui and moved here. We brought our unit at the Island Surf because of the awesome location and convenience. You are right in the heart of Kihei and if you want to go diving or take surf lessons the location does not get any better.
Ligia Davila purchased this condo in 1996
You are located in the center of tourist attractions: you can walk to restaurants, grab a shaved ice, or stop and have a bite to eat, and people watch, at one of the sidewalk cafes. The Solar Heated Pool is located on the second floor with a newly remodeled BBQ area. Kalama Park is an Ocean Front Park across the street that has a walkway along the ocean, covered Picnic Areas, a skating rink, children's park, volley ball, & horse shoe.
You are located on the main street in the center of Kihei's tourist attractions. On the First Floor you can sign up for surfing lessons, and for all your scuba diving needs the Maui Dream Dive Shop. Eat local grinds at Johnson's Deli, enjoy the Juice and Smoothie Bar or Joy's: who caters to a healthy life style. There is also a postal service, real estate office, and & nail salon.

This unit was exactly as described and met our needs comfortably. Our host Ligia, was very accommodating, easy to communicate with and provided us with good information as first time Maui visitors. Parking was convenient and the location is in the heart of Kihei, yet surprisingly quiet. Not fancy but If you are looking for a comfortable, clean and convenient place to hang your hat while you explore Maui I would recommend this unit.
If all you need is a clean quiet place to sleep in a great location next to the beach, then this is an excellent choice.
This studio is small and is what is advertised. Comfortable bed with good quality sheets and towels. No view, but just across the street from Kamala park.
Lots of eating places nearby. A grocery store is a couple of blocks away. Great swimming beaches (Kam 1, 2, and 3) are a 10 minute walk from the studio.
Great backpack beach chairs that can be worn as a backpack (Tommy Bahama) with an insulated pouch for drinks. Boogie boards are provided.
The Maui Revealed book provided was dispensable as we constantly used it to guide our exploring of the island.
We were over the moon happy with our accommodation! It was everything the pictures looked like and Ligia was so kind to add a fridge, dishes and extra towels. Being right across the street from the beach and walking distance to restaurants, bars and grocery shopping, we were right at home. We will no doubt-ably be back to stay at Island Surf again one day. Thank you so much Ligia! :)
Island Surf is not fancy, if that's what you're looking for, but we felt that Ligia's hospitality more than made up for it. In addition, it was a great value in the expensive venue which is Maui. The unit is a single bedroom with attached bath; there is a dorm fridge, microwave and coffee-maker in the bedroom closet, and all the dishes, silverware, and serving implements you could want. Ligia has thought of everything a Hawaiian traveler needs. She provided us new boogie boards, Tommy Bahama beach chairs, 4 generous-sized beach towels, a chilled bottle of wine on arrival, coffee for the entire stay, as well as some things you just didn't know you needed--until the need arose--like ziplock bags! The Maui Revealed guidebook she leaves in the room is AMAZINGLY DETAILED and VERY HELPFUL! The space is small, but adequate. The bed and the room temperature (air conditioning or open windows and fan) were comfortable. The building is directly across from the beach and close to multiple restaurants, bars and shops. Parking was always available in a designated lot. The TV was not working when we were there, but Ligia had a fix for it which we declined to avail ourselves of during our stay. (Who needs TV when you're in Hawaii?!?) Ligia showed up to clean the room just as we were leaving. We got so involved in complimenting her on her thoughtful provision of everything we needed for our stay, that we left behind a TSA lock and a treasured jacket in the closet. Lee was very responsive to our texts when we realized our mistake, and mailed the items back to us without prior reimbursement (which we provided later). The accommodations were simple but complete, and provided with heart! Thank you, Ligia!
We just finished a week stay at this lovely studio apartment. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The owner had boogie boards, an umbrella, beach chairs, beach towels, fridge, toaster, coffee maker, full set of dishes, cooler bag, TV w/ DVD player (bring a few) and much more. You have access to 2 BBQ's and a lounge/pool area as well. The building residents are friendly and walking to grocery (Food land, Times)/restaurants was a breeze. We enjoyed the Kalama Beach Park across the street for morning walks and watching surfers, sea turtles, whale breaching, gorgeous sunsets and local volleyball games. It is an easy walk to open markets (Kihei Market and Azeka Plaza) and farmers stands (Yee's Farm Market). The owner was accommodating and very committed to us enjoying our stay. If you have never been to Maui - South Kihei is the most enjoyable part of the island. Restaurant recommendations nearby: Fat Daddy's Smokehouse, The Dog & Duck Pub, Kihei Cafe and Moose MacGillicuddys. Close by: Scooter and Bicycle rentals, Surf shops, Tattoo Shops, Salons, Nightlife (if that's your thing) but it's not loud if you are not! This rental is clean, cost effective and in a safe location. Close to Charlie Young Beach, Cove Park, Kamole I, II, III Beaches. We would definitely rent again from Ligia as she was a good part of the reason that our experience was so great. Thanks again for a wonderful Maui Experience! Mahalo!
My wife and I stayed at this place for 6 nights. We had a great vacation. Ligia was very helpful as she left a copy of Maui Revealed as well as some recommendations of things to do and places to eat. The place is on the small side but it has everything you need for 2 people. Lots of little perks like beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, and a bottle of wine. The place was really clean and always smelled nice.
The Island Surf Studio is located in the heart of Kihei.
