About the property

3 Bedrooms /2.5 Bath home. Sleeps 7-10 comfortably. Great year round location

COME ENJOY OUR QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD IN THE WOODS!! Our comfortable home is in a lovely, forested neighborhood about 2 miles from the Lake and in the town of Kings Beach/Tahoe Vista. Our street offers incredible snowshoeing & snowmobiling trails all right outside your door. The neighborhood is so peaceful, you could just sit out on our large deck and listen to the wind blow through the tall pine trees and watch the chipmunks chase each other!

Our two-story mountain home is exceptionally well maintained . The 2 story layout of the house offers plenty of room to entertain big families, but comfy and cozy enough for just 2.

With a large open floor plan, large loft, Pool Table, big hot tub, gas fireplace, four TVs, Dish Network with DVR, WIFI, Roku, DVD players even a VHS player! A thoroughly stocked kitchen also awaits you.

As you walk in the front door, you enter the Great Room and are greeted by high ceilings that open to the loft. You will see a large warm gas stone-faced fireplace. There are 2 sets of sliding glass doors that open to the deck with BBQ, Patio seating and the over-sized hot tub.

On the main floor, off the living room is one of the renovated full bathrooms. Continue on down the hall to the washer and dryer and then to ALL 3 bedrooms.

The master “Lake” room has a beautiful four-poster pine queen bed with a comfy pillow-top mattress, a flat screen TV, a private bath and lovely tree-covered mountain views.

Next to this is the guest “Woods” room. This has a comfy queen sized bed with a 3' memory foam mattress topper and equally beautiful views!

The next room is the “Bunk room” with new bunk beds, twin over full, with storage drawers underneath. (sleeps 3) Great for the kids and adults!

For the social cook, you will love the modern that kitchen opens to the living and dining areas, as well as the fireplace and the 55' plasma TV!

The dining area has a large table that can seat 10 and sliding glass doors leading out to the deck

We have tried our best to stock the newly updated kitchen with everything you might need for a vacation stay, such as chefs knives, coffee maker, crock pot, blender, mixer, pots and pans, plate service for 16, serving trays and so much more. Enjoy the granite counter tops and new stainless steel appliances, including a gas cook top/oven. There are 2 breakfast counters and bar stools to sit and enjoy.

Upstairs is a loft with futons for extra sleeping for 2. There is a half bath and a separate room with NEW POOL TABLE and another flat screen TV. Game closet with TONS of games and puzzles for the whole family. There is also a cozy area of the loft just for watching movies and bookshelves full of reading for the whole family!

Northstar Ski Resort is only 12 minutes away and it is a lovely village with a year round Ice Rink and lots to do, eat and drink.

The lake is only a 5 minute drive away! Sledding and skiing options are anywhere from 12 to 45 minutes away. In the summer there is golf, paddle-boarding, para-sailing, Jet skiing, relaxing!!! Oh did I mention....Casinos are also a short 12 minute drive!

We know you will have an amazing stay in our home. We always do.

About Kimberly Schott

We are the proud parents of a beautiful 11 year old daughter, a pug, a red Labrador Retriever and a few other assorted pets. We honeymooned 12 years ago in Kings Beach and dreamed from that moment of buying our own home. We were able to fulfill that dream the summer of 2012! We live full time in Sonoma County, but come and stay at the house as frequently as we can, so you can be assured of a WELL maintained, well loved home!! We hope you enjoy our mountain home as much as we do!

Kimberly Schott purchased this house in 2012

Why Kimberly Schott chose Lake Tahoe North Shore

Location, Location, Location. NO crazy loud beach goers on our street. Our house is in a quiet neighborhood of mostly private homes, 2 miles up from the lake at Kings Beach (off hwy 267). A beautiful forested area that is great for walking or bike riding anytime of the year. There are great maintained trails from here. Our level driveway makes it EASY parking in the winter!

We spend a lot of time here ourselves, so we continually update and try our best to make our home warm, comfortable and super family friendly!!

All the homes in our neighborhood are nestled amongst tall pine trees and the road dead ends at some fantastic hiking trails. No traffic to fight with (except for the squirrels and chipmunks!)

In the winter you can cross country ski or snowmobile right from the front deck along the miles and miles of beautiful trails.

You will find plenty of things to keep you busy here... You can shoot a game of pool upstairs, have a soak in the hot tub, watch TV or relax by the fire with a book or board game. There are also separate comfy spaces in the loft for watching movies and another space for the kiddies playing some games or puzzles.

The lake at Kings Beach is only 5 minutes away by car and It's a great bike ride, but remember... it is UP HILL going home.

What makes this house unique

We truly LOVE our home. We come up and stay often ourselves, so we do our absolute best to keep it up to date and fun for everyone! We are constantly looking for ways to improve! This is not a long distance rental for us!

Guestbook comments from the owner

What a lovely home. We so enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and close proximity to the shore. We experienced lots of weather during our stay, from thunderstorms (good time to cozy by fire), to sunny days spent on the lake. Our daughters loved the toys and books upstairs. Thank you for the opportunity!!

Wonderful home.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here for the first time on a ski/snow play mini getaway vacation. The house is laid out wonderfully, with plenty of space for all to relax and enjoy. The house is located in a nice quiet area with beautiful surroundings. The home is very well maintained and comes with everything you need. Close proximity to skiing and restaurants. We plan on coming back again and look forward to our next stay.

Great house for big family with kids

  • 5 of 5

Our big family (6 adults and 7 little kids) really enjoyed our stay at this immaculate house! Lots of great things about this house:

- Very spacious - enough room for all 13 people. Our 4 girls loved the room with the bunk beds since they were able to have some space to themselves without being annoyed by the younger toddlers.

- Well equipped with everything you need - kitchen was filled with pots, pans, cooking utensils, silverware, etc. We were able to cook dinner for our big family with all the equipment. Washer and dryer were great - we used them everyday to dry out our snow clothing. TV was great, also equipped with Roku, which was a big plus! There were small things that the owner did that I thought it was really nice of them: welcoming us to their house with a bottle of wine, left plenty of stuffs for us to use from laundry detergent, seasoning, ketchup, to hot chocolate, games, etc. The only thing I would complain (which I already informed the owner) is the WIFI connection. It did not work very well. Cellular signal was not great at this location but if you drive around the block, it would be fine.

- Great location! Very close to Safeway, Rite-Aid, downtown Tahoe Vista, King's beach, North Star resort. We even drove down to Tahoe city for sledding at the Granlibakken resort and grabbed dinner there, about 20 mins drive.

- Our kids enjoyed the mini-slope on the side of the house and the big backyard filled with fresh snow when we arrived. They also loved to jump into the hot tub in the freezing cold weather (yes, they were crazy!)

I was a little worried after I made payments and received warning emails from VRBO about scams (for other properties that I inquired). However, Kim was super nice and helpful and she made sure we got all the information we needed before we arrived. I was so happy that I found this place. Thank you for having us and we hope to come back and visit in the near future!

Wonderful White Christmas

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five adults and two dogs had the best White Christmas ever! The weather cooperated and we arrived to a little bit of snow on the ground. The day after we arrived it snowed for about 24 hours straight which allowed for two days of snow sledding right in the front yard! There was plenty of room for us in the cozy, warm and inviting home. The beds are comfortable and the layout of the home allows for togetherness and privacy at the same time. The house is extremely clean and the decor is inviting. We cooked many meals and baked holiday cookies in the well stocked kitchen. One of our family members even enjoyed the hot tub in the snow. It was a great Christmas in a wonderful home and I hope to visit and stay in this home again. Thank you for providing such a wonderful holiday getaway location.

Your cozy winter home was perfect for our family Christmas

  • 5 of 5

My family meets in the Tahoe area every year for Christmastime, coming from Oregon, Nevada and California foothills. Our family has rented a Truckee/Tahoe home for our Christmas gathering for the past 5 years and this home is the BEST!! We all loved it's cozy feel. Those of us cooking appreciated the well stocked kitchen. The appliances are new. The whole house was spotless and everything was user friendly. The sleeping arrangements were perfect also. We enjoyed the hot tub after a nice hike with the dogs on a snowy trail to a mountain top with great views of the lake. We spent hours at the pool table and at the dining table playing cards. I sure hope we will be able to rent your place next year again for our Christmas get-together.

Exactly what we wanted.

  • 5 of 5

We spent thanksgiving in Tahoe and simply wanted a place where we could hang out for a few days. We used both the pool table and hot tub quite a bit, and the kitchen accommodated a nice meal on Thursday. The weather was bad on Sunday and she allowed us to have a late checkout.

Very Nice!

  • 4 of 5

My husband, 8 year old daughter and I really enjoyed this home. It had everything we needed from lots of fun toys and videos for my daughter when we weren't at the lake, to a nice deck with a hot tub and plenty of kitchen stuff for me to make some nice meals.

The master and guest bedrooms were quite spacious and the house was very clean.

It was strange to see the deck at the front of the house - you would not have guessed that from the property pictures. A little less privacy then we would have liked, but it all worked out. The only real bummer was that the hot tub had clearly not been cleaned when we got there and unfortunately was not cleaned during our 5 day stay even though we informed the owner on the first full day of our stay.

Overall, I would recommend this house!

Owner's Response: Margo, my apologies about the hot tub. I contacted the cleaners immediately after getting your message and they said It was defintely cleaned the day before you arrived, but it had some sand in the bottom which can apparently make it seem cloudy. (this can only be remedied by draining and scrubbing) I truly thought I responded to you about it that day. I take pride in not just our home being extremely clean for each guest, but the hot tub as well. So sorry for any miscommunication and I hope you come back and visit again.
