About Vincenzo

Hi! First of all, thank you for spending some of your time to take a look at this very unusual “Villa” … a place where man's tenacity has rendered possible that which seemed impossible.

My name is Vincenzo and I own and manage this very unique “Villa”, a result of a work of life, the culmination of 30 years of my parents’ great efforts, imagination and, above all, love!

I enjoy sharing my passion and deep knowledge about local Foods and Wines with my Guests. So, I began to offer very exclusive 'Culinary Experiences' to my Villa's Guests ... And now I own and manage a 'Food & Wine Concierge' Company to allow people to discover the Amalfi Coast through Food & Wine Excellence.

My goal is sharing the uniqueness of this “Cliff Villa” with people who are able to understand the “Essence” of a place which maybe (I hope) will change something in their life (as my repeat Guests tell me every year).

Can’t wait to meet you!

Why Vincenzo chose Sorrento Peninsula

Everything started with a bizarre present given by my grandfather to my father to congratulate him on becoming a doctor of medicine in 1969: a long, narrow path cut out from the rocks falling sheer down to the sea. A path where peasants used to take advantage of the constant exposure to the sun, and the natural protection from the wind and rain provided by the mountains to dry out figs on wooden pallets.

Well, my father had a vision the first time he saw this stretch of cliff: building a Villa embedded into the rock, in perfect harmony with its surroundings, thanks to his innate passion for Architecture. The idea was to create a dream, to make something magnificent rise up from nothing.

Building work soon started and my father joined forces with a team of just 3 workers who don’t shy away from even the riskiest of tasks to follow the guidelines of such a bold venture. They devoted half of their life to follow my father to his crazy adventure!

No resource was spared in the completion of this creation, the final version of which produced a genuine “architectural gem” set in the rocks.

It has become a quite unique, a private place far from prying eyes, a favored refuge for many leading figures from the world of culture and art, on the look out for an exclusive place of total tranquility, offering top class comfort, while at the same time, surrounded by uncontaminated, wild nature.

What makes this villa unique

You will have the chance to vacation inside a seaside cliff, between heaven and earth…

The privacy of a secluded property, Italian charm, and the incredible sea views from its terraces represent the main elements of this earthly paradise.

When you are into the Villa you’ll forget anything and you’ll have the sensation to be in a dream world. But, at the same time, you are in the heart of the Amalfi Coast (few minutes away from all the major tourist attractions).

Thanks to our personalized full service Concierge and our “Culinary Experiences” you have the chance to experience both the Villa and the Amalfi Coast in the best way, thru local Food & Wine Excellence.

Guestbook comments from the owner

When we booked the villa, we knew it was going to be something different- we wanted something different to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. You drive down this private very curvy unpaved street until you see Vincenzo, the villa's host and manager waving you down on the street.

From there you enter the villa and the view is breathtaking!! We spent July 4th week here and all we can say is WOW. Fantastic views from everywhere. Total romance.....This villa has it all!! Really meant for more than two people, we had the time of our lives.

The host, Vincenzo, is an expert not only of the area, but of the Gourmet culture of the region. He was kind enough to take us to an incredible gourmet store, for tastings of the best of the best food in the region...a place we could never find on our own. He recommended LOCAL restaurants with incredible food...for a fraction of the price of the tourist places. You had a desire, all you had to do was ask Vincenzo and it was done....This Villa was heaven on earth!!

On our last night Vincenzo recommended us to go to and incredible one star Michelin restaurant. Not only was it gorgeous, but the chef came out to greet us and made sure we had a memorable time. Turns out, he's a great friend of Vincenzo!!

If you are looking for a place to relax, get away from it all if you want, (you can easily hop in your car and get to Positano or Sorrento in 15 minutes), this villa is a place to definetly consider. If you are into the gourmet scene, whether eating out, or cooking your own pizza in the villa's pizza forno, then this villa is very much for you.

Most of the time the place you stay on vacation is just the place you lay your head after a long day of sightseeing. The sightseeing IS the attraction. However this villa is an exception to the rule. It is by far one of the most beautiful and unique accommodation that we have ever experienced. For us, the villa became the focal point of our entire vacation. The views are breathtaking and the personal service made us feel at home immediately. The wonders of the Amalfi coast do not disappoint of course and we took advantage of some fascinating tours and sightseeing opportunities…but we had a personal paradise to return to at the end of each day. Amazing!

In my family I am known as the “vacation control freak”. I like to organize almost every moment in order to get the most from our time away from the real world. But right from the beginning Vincenzo (concierge & son of the owner) removed that stress and offered cheerful advice and opportunities for tours and dinners that I would never have been able to organize on my own. Our family of six spent a week in this extraordinary villa in late August. Anything we needed, Vincenzo coordinated it for us. We were particularly grateful when he was able to ensure that the restaurants that we went to were able to accommodate my daughter and her severe peanut allergy. We thoroughly enjoyed the tours Vincenzo arranged - the greek ruin at Paestum and a buffalo mozzarella factory tour, Sorrento and a pasta factory tour, walks around the cities of Amalfi, Positano and Ravello and our favourite - a boat trip around and to the island of Capri. Stunningly beautiful sights! We felt lucky every moment that we were there! Even the weather was perfect - I bet Vincenzo arranged that for us as well!

The very best of all was the villa itself. We loved languishing in the pool in the afternoons, the calm of the sunrises, the spectacular vistas and the dinners together. The pizza night was fantastic - we watched and we learned - but Vincenzo has mastered his craft and I highly doubt that any of us could reproduce the delicious results. So yummy! Our week ended and we were sad to go - but thrilled that we had the opportunity to be there at all.

I can sum it up with this story: on the final night of any trip that we have been on as a family, we always go around the table and recount our favourite places and our most cherished moments. This time (in a trip that included 4 nights in Rome) each one of us cited

My family of 7 just returned from one week at this villa. It was fantastic and it exceeded our expectations- which were very high from the start.

We have five children, ages 15-28. This was our first trip to the AC and we looked extensively for a villa. Although the website fairly describes the villa, the place is so unique that I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Now having been there, I understand why it is hard to describe on a website. It is literally carved into a gorgeous cliff high above the Mediterranean. It is so beautiful, even more so than the photos show. Each of my family members had a different favorite location on the roughly 900' of cliff frontage.

It is strategically located directly on the coast, about 4 miles from both Sorrento and Positano. You won't find it on a map or even from a boat directly in front of it, without binoculars and a trained eye. Yet, from the villa you feel like you can see everything. I spent hours looking down at boats going by.

On top of the physical attributes of this villa, you get the amazing Vincenzo (the owners' son and concierge) and, trust me, this was a game changer. Vincenzo offers many excursions of different types that he arranges plus help with all types of recommendations, such as dinner reservations. We found all of his recommendations and excursions to be very good. We had a full day boat trip to Capri (my kids' favorite), a half day hike followed by lunch in Montepertuso (my favorite- ask for Nino as your guide- and definitely take a guide!), a full day AC coast tour, and a tour of Pompei (Giancarlo was the best guide we've had anywhere). Now, I wish we did even more excursions that Vincenzo recommended. His recommendations were spot on every time and he even made dinner reservations for us in Rome twice- one at the best restaurant we experienced in 10 days and all with very few tourists. Vincenzo and his offerings made a huge difference and really made this a special vacation.

I also should mention the two phenomenal meals that Vincenzo arranged for us at the villa were really great, especially the Pizza Extravaganza that Vincenzo hosted. Awesome.

This place is magical and I am certain that my kids will never forget it- they absolutely loved it. I highly recommend it. I will return.

What an experience!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8, three generations, enjoyed a perfect week on the Amalfi Coast and the Villa was a large part of that. Beauty all around, so peaceful, a picture to be taken every foot of the property. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast every morning overlooking the sea and several multi-course meals that were delicious, including a fabulous pizza night. Vincenzo is a wonderful host and he made sure that everything went smoothly for us during the week. He arranged all of our excursions and activities as well as our transportation (a very important aspect) and it allowed us to enjoy a hassle-free week, while getting to experience Herculaneum, Pompeii, a pasta making factory, a mozzarella making factory, Capri, Positano, Sorrento, Amalfi, Ravella, and a winery in the Tramonte area. Perfect balance of seeing the beauty of the area (by boat and by van) and relaxation. We loved this vacation and can't stop talking about it. It will be a memory for a lifetime for all of us! We highly recommend this experience!

Heaven on Earth

  • 5 of 5

This place is magical, from the moment we stepped we felt the calmness, we saw the beauty, and the serenity of this vacation home. The view from almost every space you stood was amazing and the sunsets were just breathtaking. There was so much space and so many outdoor seating areas that every night we tried to sit at a different area, but I know we missed some. Our host prepared most of our tours and it was the best thing we did,

everything was perfect, we felt and were treated like vip, his knowledge and his connections made everything run

with style.

Spectacular one of a kind villa

  • 5 of 5

I seldom write reviews about vacation rentals, but I just had to share our wonderful experience staying at this one of a kind villa on the Amalfi Coast. The villa is unique in that it is built right into the cliff. There was so much space and there were so many outdoor seating options, that we often times couldn't find where some of our party of 7 was hiding.

The view from the villa was spectacular and it was so peaceful since it is quite a distance away from the main road.

The owner was incredibly responsive right from our first inquiry. He replied quickly to all emails and provided us with so much information about the area. He was able to arrange some wonderful tours for us as well. We loved the Pasta Factory tour and our private boat trip to Capri. To end off the week, he came and made us pizzas completely from scratch. What an amazing experience all round.

Our son's first reaction when he saw the villa was that he had never seen a vacation rental that looked better in real life than in the photos. You really have to see it to believe it.

I would highly recommend this villa. We definitely plan to be back. We need to experience all of the other wonderful excursions we couldn't fit in and save more time to enjoy the villa.

Paradise on Earth

It is truly impossible to describe the beauty and serenity of this villa. Carved into a mountain looking down upon the Gulf of Salerno, there is a view of several small islands . . the Siren Islands. From the beautiful entrance, the numerous garden paths, the lemon trees, the wine cellar, pool area and so many special spaces to enjoy, it is breathtaking. Our family of six spent four days there and our only regret is that we did not spend more of our time just enjoying the villa. Our host arranged for various excursions and experiences which were almost as phenomenal as the villa itself. He arranged a driver, a visit and meal at an artisan pasta factory, and various other tours and spectacular meals that we requested. The highlight of the meals for us was the handmade pizza prepared by him and his wife at the villa--and allowing us to help with the preparation. Truly I have never experienced a vacation quite like this and feel sure that, unless I am fortunate enough to be able to return again one day, I never will again.
