100 Feet From Lake Shore, Sleeps Up To 13, True Log, Screen Porch
We love the remodeling project in this beautiful cabin and believe that the photos doesn't do it justice! We just had the exterior logs sandblasted and stained. We also did more landscaping around the cabin. There is always something new every year.
We have a new kitchen with beautiful hickory cabinets and a dark counter top. Our cabin has new stainless steel appliances and a new wood floor.
The bathrooms were remodeled and our Log Cabin has a bath and a half. The new hickory vanities are beautiful. There is a large shower in the main bathroom.
We replaced all the mattresses as well as the bedding and comforters! The Master bedroom has one Queen bed and one XL Twin bed. The second bedroom on the main level has two XL Twin beds. The large loft has two Double/Full beds and two XL Twin beds. The linens are professionally laundered.
Whether you are looking for a summer vacation, fishing vacation, fall vacation or family vacation, The Log Cabin has it all.
The Log Cabin at Cedar Point Resort has it all. The cabin has:

About Karen Senger
We have owned and operated Cedar Point Resort for 17 years. We love it in the 'great north woods.' It is a perfect blend between being both remote and close to services.
Karen Senger purchased this House in 2012
Why Karen Senger chose Marcell
We purchased this property in November 2012. It is a beautiful log cabin with private lake shore on 3 1/2 acres of forest and The Log Cabin is only 100 feet from shore. It adjacent to Cedar Point Resort and is a perfect fit for us (and you)!
What makes this House unique
We have always loved this hand scribed log home that was built around 1986. The logs are so gorgeous and they were harvested locally from a nearby forest. When it came up for sale, we couldn't say no. This cabin is private home, yet is just the next property from the resort and has full use of resort amenities: Pool, swim beach, swim raft, lodge, game room, family and kid activities.....

Excellent Cabin - The Best of Both Worlds
My family (4 adults, 2 teenagers, and 2 kids) stayed at this cabin for a week in June and it was amazing. We also rented a pontoon from the resort for the week as well. The cabin was very clean, very well stocked, and had very nice furniture. To me this is the best of both worlds, you have the privacy and seclusion of a private cabin, fire pit, and dock, but a short walk lets you take advantage of all of the great amenities at the resort (boats, pool, swimming beach & toys, game room, fishing bait, food (including homemade caramel rolls & made to order pizza for those times you don't want to cook), etc.). The lake was the perfect size to me with several different parts to the lake and a long shoreline, but not too big in any one spot nor was it so small that it was boring. The lake shape allowed for excellent boating and fishing no matter what the weather was - if it was rough (from weather) or busy (from skiers) on the main part of the lake you can easily go to another section of the lake and have calm waters and privacy. Even with the fishing being off due to weather during our stay, we were still able to catch a number of fish (sunfish, several species of bass, and a muskie), including a bunch right off the dock. The kids really enjoyed the momma duck and her baby that visited us often as well as the turtles laying eggs in the front yard. My family had plenty to do between the lake, fire pit, resort amenities, hiking on the trails, and shopping in near by towns. The owners were great to work with and clearly take pride in their property and creating a positive experience for the vacationers. This is well worth the drive if you don't want to put up with the hustle and bustle of the Nisswa area like us - you won't be sorry!
Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We have been in this business for 15 years and I am happy to say that we still enjoy it. Seeing our guests loving their experience as well does make us happy!!
You are certainly invited back at any time. We are always making updates and adding amenities! The Stand Up Paddle Boards were a hit this year.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Great "up north" cabin experience
Our family and two others (6 adults, 6 kids) stayed at this log cabin over a long weekend in May. It was wonderful. The cabin is clean, well stocked, and nicely decorated. The cabin property feels quite private, with its own dock, yard, fire pit, etc. But then the resort lodge is close by if you want to take advantage of the game room, ice cream, boat rentals, etc. The kids had a blast playing with the kayaks, water bikes, and canoes; and we rented the pontoon boat for an evening. We hiked in the forest one afternoon. There is a lot to do in the area--we need to come back for a whole week! Owners are good--cheerful and attentive. Great "up north" cabin experience!
Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We do love our cabins and appreciate when our guests enjoy it too! You are welcome to come back anytime!! Thanks again.
Cedar Point Resort is in the Chippewa National Forest on beautiful North Star Lake. You will find 15 miles of shoreline on just North Star Lake. There is plenty to do here. Or, if you prefer, you can just sit and relax and listen to the waves on the lake and the animals and birds. There are 100 lakes within 10 miles of North Star Lake.
