Hayward is only 14 minutes away and offers the birkie, camba mountain biking trails, shopping, golf and much more.
We purchased this cabin to pamper our family and friends with some well deserved 'away time' in a fabulous area. Hayward has it all and is wonderful rain or shine. The area caters to both the young and the more mature.
Mary Jo Morrison purchased this cabin in 2001
This location offers a large, clean recreational lake, a wooded area that has many pines, opportunities to walk and ski, unlimited places for Wisconsin fish fries and great people that actually wave at you, even though they don't know you.
The perfect day is one in which we have coffee on the deck while the kids are sleeping, walk the dog on the quiet road behind our cabin, serve up stacks of chocolate chip pancakes for friends, pack the cooler for a day on the lake, and anchor at Wismo point for lunch. What a great day!
What a great place to get away from people and all the stress of life. Although there was only 2 of us in a space at least large enough for 8 or more. Baths on each of 3 floors. Great scenery and a quiet neighborhood. Plenty of activities at the cabin as well as the area. Lake is down a "few" stairs, but manageable. Large but quiet lake. If you want to explore the area, Hayward is only 10-12 minutes north. Stone Lake and groceries only 5 minutes away. Plenty of kitchen utensils and assorted kitchenware to cook whatever you want. We used the grill most of the time and ate out at the table on the deck every meal, including breakfast. Enjoyed a fire every night outside to end the day. Owners are very accomodating and have extensive instructions to cover almost any question you can think of. A seamless transaction and a wonderful way to usher in my 60th year on this earth... Will be back again.
Our family of 7, ranging in age from 77 to 4, had a magnificent, fun-filled time at this beautiful lakeside lodge. The house is incredible in it's design and welcoming coziness. We felt totally "at home", and found it very hard to leave after a 6 day stay. The location on the lake is perfect for watching boating activities, listening to the occasional loon, or heading off on a canoe, or kayak, excursion. It was paradise! Hayward is close enough to make daily excursions for food shopping, gift shopping or playing miniature golf. And the house was so conveniently stocked with all the essentials that it was so easy just to settle in and relax. Warmest thanks to the owners for giving us so many wonderful adventures to remember always. We couldn't recommend the property more highly and would love to return again. (PS- I couldn't get the excellent star to highlight, but you need one more star past "Excellent", maybe "Super Excellent", and I would push that!)
Three adults and an 8 year old found this house to be so big that we could each have quiet alone time when we wanted to. The main living area was very comfortable with wide views of the outdoors. The lake water was clear and bottom was sandy which made for good water fun. The steps to the lake were awkward but okay. I wish there had been a ladder on the dock to make it easier to get out of the water. The owners were generous enough to let us use the kayak which was wonderful. This a great place!
We rented this cabin for the first time for a long, relaxing weekend. It was perfect, we will definitely be back. We were a group of ten (of all ages) and we had plenty of room. It is very spacious, well-kept and the time we spent relaxing on the deck and by the big fire pit were especially memorable. It has a very well-stocked kitchen and a large, open main floor which is ideal for groups. I would highly recommend this cabin if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing and peaceful time in the woods and on the water. The owner was very easy to work with, had everything organized and was very responsive.
