Having lived & worked in London for many years, we moved to Skye in 2010 and have lived in Driftwood cottage for the last 6 years. Due to an expanding family we have outgrown our much loved home and reluctantly moved to a larger house just a mile away. Whilst we now have more space we unfortunatley don't have the same spectacular view that Driftwood cottage has. After many friends and family telling us it would make a fantastic holiday cottage we are now expecting our first guests in March 2017
Owner purchased this Cottage in 2010
Why Owner chose Isle of Skye
We knew we might outgrow this house before we bought it, but we really couldnt resist the view it had. We have made many improvements to the house over the last 6 years both inside & outside and are really proud of it.
What makes this Cottage unique
The kitchen-dining room is a real treat. We have a large solid oak table next to a large floor to Ceiling window & patio door - which of course looks onto staffin bay. The sun shines directly into the kitchen most mornings from about March thru to september and in the winter the stanley rayburn makes it really cozy & warm. Another bonus is you can walk to the beach in about 10 minutes directly out of the back garden gate without having to get in a car.

A fabulous cottage with amazing views
We loved our stay here. Such a great location for exploring the island, but if you don't want to stray far, the desserted beach is delightful. House is very well equipped with high quality bedding, crockery etc.
Stunningly beautiful getaway
If we didn't have full time jobs, we may have never left. This place was by far and away our favorite stop on our Scottish adventure. Impeccably clean, stunning views, peaceful, etc etc. etc. I can't say enough good things about the house and property. We cooked every night in the kitchen because we enjoyed being at the house so much and it was so well equipped with everything you could need. The location is superb. The mountains behind the house look like something out of Game of Thrones - spectacular. I will go back to Scotland just to stay at the Driftwood Cottage but next time for a much longer stay. Thank you for having us!
Perfect Skye cottage
We had an amazing time on Skye at this home. It's perfect for a family with children, with all the basics plus some toys, games, and movies. We enjoyed many evenings around the kitchen table eating dinner and playing games while taking in the amazing views from right outside the door. The beds are also super comfy and the bedrooms have gorgeous views as well. We'd come back every summe if we didn't live thousands of miles away!
Super location with unbeatable views. A well maintained and equipped cottage run by attentive and helpful owners. A memorable stay for our family of four.
Heaven on earth
There are not enough stars for this cottage. It was even better then the pictures,. The location was out of this world, and I didn't want to leave.
The cottage is beautiful inside and out and so comfortable. They have thought of everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Communication with the owners was great and I was so impressed with their attention to detail. The only problem I could think of was having to leave!!!! I could have stayed forever. I would recommend this rental 100%, and I certainly plan on staying there again.
