2ND Time to visit!

  • 4 of 5

My family stayed here 4 summers ago and even though the river was down, had a great time. We decided to come back again this summer. The river had plenty of water in it, and we were due a break from the metroplex. With 8 adults, and 4 children, we had plenty of room and privacy. The cabana is still the place to be down by the river!. Lots of shade , and plenty of activities to do, or just kick back and enjoy the outdoors. We cooked out each night, and discovered the gas grill at the cabana has seen better days, so we used charcoal, no big deal. We all enjoyed our mini-vacation, and will be planning another visit next year!

River Vacation

  • 3 of 5

the trailer was a little worse for wear ......and I believe the septic tank is full and needed to be empty due to the fact we could smell sewer gas in both bathrooms and has to keep doors shut.....we enjoyed the outdoor cabana and spent most of our time down at the river fishing and swimming...could be cleaned up a little (cobwebs, dirt dobbers nest in micro wave and corner of hot tub)...washer went out while we were there( which ruined some of our clothes) caregivers were very helpful and replaced both the washer and dryer very quickly ...... we still enjoyed our time there very much.....Thank You the Glass Family

Great place!

  • 4 of 5

With the exception of a sewer backup and a tree branch falling, we had a great time. The serviceman was there as soon as we called the sewer problem in and fixed it quickly. The smell lingered though. The water and cabana is a long way from the house though.

Nice location

  • 3 of 5

The location right off the river was very nice. They had a few kayaks that everyone really had fun with. The beach by the water was pretty good, but the river bottom was mostly clay. We found a really good, sandy spot just a short kayak trip down the river.

The house wasn't anything special, but it fit our needs. We did have trouble with a sewage smell that we were told was due to the septic system. We got past it though, and spent most of our time at the cabana closer to the river anyway.

The cabana by the river was good. We were able to cook a few meals and eat by the fire pit. The grill didn't work too well. It didn't look old, but it looked very over used and not kept up. However, it was usable and we were able to cook what we needed. We did have to buy our own propane. We didn't expect to do so, but were ready to refill it if needed (as stated in the stay instructions).
