Beautiful home sleeps 8, within walking distance to all things fun!
Perfect location for your vacation! This three bedroom, two bathroom home is located in the heart of beautiful, historic downtown Pagosa Springs. The home is equipped with two king-sized beds and two queen-sized beds, all with cozy linens to keep you toasty and comfortable. It sleeps a total of 8 people. There are two bathrooms (one upstairs, one downstairs), providing just the right amount of privacy. The spacious living area has a large sectional leather sofa and flat-screened television, as does each bedroom, so no one has to miss that important football game or their favorite show. The large, rustic dining table is perfect for your family to enjoy meals together. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need to cook and bake to your heart's content. There is a roomy hot tub tucked into a private space on the north side of the house, perfect for soaking weary bones after a long day of skiing or snowboarding.
My husband and I are the parents of two sweet, wonderfully spirited boys, ages five and two. We have lived here in Pagosa for the past 15 years after visiting the area once for a Christmas holiday in 1997. Chris and I are both from the east coast (Virginia Beach) originally, however, after visiting Colorado so many years ago, we instantly had a deep connection to this sweet, little town and immediately put in action a plan to make a life here together. We spent our initial years in Pagosa enjoying all the outdoor activities the area has to offer and working as little as possible. In 2005, we opened the first UPS Store here in Pagosa. After the birth of our first son in 2008, after having built that business into a great success, we decided to sell it to spend as much time as possible with our son. We were able to enjoy about a year of mostly carefree time spent being new parents. In 2010, we aquired an existing restaurant (a pizza place) here in Pagosa. We successfully owned and operated it for about two years and in the spring of 2011, we had our second son. With two young children, it became apparent that restaurant ownership was not conducive to the life we wanted to be living. We sold the restaurant in the fall of 2012 to one of our best employees. She currently owns and operates it beautifully...if you come to Pagosa, you have to visit DSP Pizzeria on the west side of town. Best pizza in Pagosa! My husband has since aquired his real estate license, revisiting a profession he once held when we met in Virginia 17 years ago. His company, Dutton Creek Realty, is located just down the street from the rental property. We currently live just minutes away from the property, so renters have the added benefit of direct contact with the owners any time, should the need arise.
The Owner purchased this house in 2006
This home could not be more conveniently located for those who want to be in the heart of it all, soaking in the downtown Pagosa experience.
Great house. Hot tub over coffee in the snow was exceptional.
A little confusing on getting the address, but the house is so distinct, it didn't matter.
Tons of parking.
Beds are a bit hard, but a bunch of our guests appreciated that.
Pagosa Springs is such quaint little town and this home is right in the heart of it. I love the proximity to the hot springs and some of our favorite restaurants - you don't even need to drive, just walk a few blocks and you are there. One evening walking home from Riff Raff Brewery we came upon an entire herd of deer grazing in a yard. It was amazing! The house is spacious, immaculate, and has everything you need to feel right at home. My parents joined us this year so having 2 king beds was a major plus. The third bedroom has 2 queen beds so it is a great place for all the kids to crash. We especially enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen, ample supply of towels, and top of the line washer and dryer. The geothermal heating kept the house at the perfect temperature day and night. If you happen to stay on Monday, I highly recommend playing bingo at the church across the street. We didn't win any money but had such a great time playing with the locals! And I can't review without mentioning the pie - the precious owners had a cherry pie waiting for us when we arrived from Pagosa Baking Co and it was delicious! Such a kind gesture and really speaks to the hospitality you will experience while staying here.
Everything we could have expected and more! Kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. There are extra towels provided for the hot tub or the springs. Beds are comfortable with extra pillows. There was plenty of room for seven adults to feel comfortable and uncrowded. The wifi connection was good as well. The location of the house can't be beat! Walking distance to just about anywhere in town and a short drive to Wolf Creek for skiing. Anna was helpful and quick to respond with any questions we had. And the cherry pie waiting for our arrival was the best!
We will definitely be recommending this home to our friends and I am sure we will be back again!
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights with 3 other couples for our annual ski trip and had a great time.
The house is beautiful and spacious even with the 8 of us. We really enjoyed the big hot tub and the heated walkway outside (one of the many little details that made the stay really enjoyable).
Parking was ideal with the huge driveway out front which made loading and unloading snowboards easy.
Anna was easy to work with and very responsive throughout all of our communications.
Overall we loved the house and would definitely consider coming back in the future.
Fantastic location! We really appreciated a lot of things about this rental. Having baby gates for stairs and laundry room, washer/dryer, great kitchen and table, and living area for the whole family. We could walk to the hot springs, restaurants, ski rentals, park. The pie was great too! Thanks so much for everything.
Lots of space to park. We parked 4 cars easily in the private parking lot for the house. The main level and balcony porches were nice for sitting. I liked watching the people walk by or drive by and the deer would be in view sometimes too! The big dining table was nice so we could all eat together. We had dinner there each night. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare spaghetti, enchiladas and tacos. The bedrooms had extra space too. One closet would have been big enough to sleep in!!!
We walked to the hot springs, the thrifts stores(we loved the animal humane sponsored thrift store), the bakery and the snowshoe rental shop. We drove 10-20 minutes to get to a a few different areas to cross country ski and snowshoe. We all made sandwiches and sat down to eat lunch along the trail. The sky was so blue and with no wind, it was perfect for snow shoes and cross country skis! The house was super clean and had some upgrades in the kitchen since last year. The hot tub was easy to uncover and recover and we enjoyed the private yard where the hot tub was located. The customer service was excellent, with phone calls returned in a timely manner. Thank you so much for having the perfect house for our vacation.
