About Rizzoli Vittoria

My mother bought this property as her pied a terre here in Paris where I live.

I am and architect here in Paris and I help her to rent the apartment when she is not here.

Rizzoli Vittoria purchased this apartment in 2010

Why Rizzoli Vittoria chose 6th Arrondissement St Germain des Pres

We choose to buy this property because, we are Italian and for us Paris is Saint Germain.

My mother made part of her study here in Saint Germain and when I first arrived in Paris I lived not far from here.

The dream to have an apartment is the middle of the heart of Paris became true.

What makes this apartment unique

When you are in the apartment, you really have the impression to get in the real Paris.

The decoration goes very well with the style of the building and I could stay inside next of fireplace reading a book and looking out at the Parisian roofs.

Very cozy and warm.

We hope that You will love it as we do!

Lovely studio on St Germain

  • 5 of 5

From the constant contact from Vittoria before we arrived, we knew we had chosen a well-cared for apartment. The location is lovely - just steps away from the Seine and a stunning view of Notre Dame on one side, to cafes, bakeries, and shopping on the other. The apartment is small - it's a studio - but it is ample for two people. The table and chairs on the balcony are perfect for an early evening glass of wine before hitting the many restaurants in the area, or for coffee and breakfast before going out for the day. The RER and Line 4 are all within a short walking distance from the apartment. It is quiet, with very friendly neighbors. The apartment was clean, with extra towels, blankets, and pillows. Although the bed is a pull out couch, is what surprising comfortable. We are sure to stay there again on our next visit to Paris.

convenient Paris style living within st Germaine.

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time at Vittoria's apartment. She welcomed us without hesitation even though we arrived 3 hours late due to flight delays. The apartment was within walking to Notre Dame , the Louvre, Musee D'orsee and a 45 min walk to the Eiffel Tower. We took the RER train closely located

To the apartment to the airport. Very easily. The apartment has a nice terrace with flowers and well equipped kitchen to eat in. Cozy for just 2.

Not too fancy just quaint and cozy.

Location location

  • 4 of 5

The location was perfect to explore the Latin Quarter restaurants and specialty shops. The apartment was great for a short stay of3 or 4 nights, but found for a longer stay there was no place for luggage. The bed was very comfortable and very easy to set up and down. Tess was great and very acommodating as we stayed at the apartment twice on this visit. The bathroom was great and what a pleasure to have warm towels after your shower I would really recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to explore the Latin Quarter.

THE Place to stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were so lucky to be able to stay in this amazing apartment during our honeymoon in Paris this fall. From the first time I saw pictures of Vittoria's apartment to the moment I walked through the front door, I knew this was the perfect place to call "home" during our vacation. The apartment has been renovated so beautifully...many original details remain including the rough-hewn ceiling beams and gorgeous French doors and they are juxtaposed to modern spaces like the efficient kitchen and modern bathroom. The apartment is just the right size for two...its spaces are perfectly efficient and the shower is the best you will find in Europe!

The location could not have been better suited either. We were able to easily sight see around the city, walking to Notre Dame, the Louvre, Luxembourg Gardens and many other places and we were able to catch the Metro and RER trains just a couple blocks away at Place St Michel to see the Paris Flea Market, Versailles and return to the airport.

Vittoria's hospitality was spot on, even greeting us with flowers and champagne...a gift from our friends in the US. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and I can guarantee you the next time I'm in Paris, I'll be staying here!

A Favorite Memory from our Paris Trip

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were recalling favorite memories from our 8 night stay in Paris. Staying in this apartment was our favorite. So cozy, bed comfortable and easy to operate, loved the balcony even on a rainy day because we had a view of the pretty courtyard and plants outside the window. We cooked dinner for our daughter and son-in-law and enjoyed having them visit us in this lovely apartment. The area is perfect and we would rent this place next time we visit Paris. Vittoria was easy to reach and work with. We love walkable cities and this area is it for us!

Wonderful quarter, you Artistic Legacy Meets Modern Chic:

Put on your Sunday best and head over to St-Germain-des-Prés, one of the more swanky, upscale neighborhoods in Paris. Here, you’ll find locals outfitted in Louis Vuitton and Dior whether on their way to a business meeting or out for a stroll. Situated along the Seine River, the area is also an artistic hub, with some of the city’s most prestigious museums, art dealers and small galleries. Once a spot for existentialist thinkers like Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, this is the place to see and be seen, window shop for Swarovski crystal and take home a piece of modern art for your mantel.

getting Oriented:

The St-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood lines the Left Bank of the Seine and extends southwards towards the sprawling Jardin du Luxembourg. It is hugged by the lively Latin Quarter to the east and the Eiffel Tower district to the west.

Main Streets: Boulevard St-Germain, Rue de Seine, Rue de Rennes, Rue Bonaparte

Getting There and Getting Around:

To check out the area's many art galleries, get off at Metro St-Germain-des-Prés (line 4) and walk north towards the Seine. For power shopping or a bite to eat, cross the Boulevard St-Germain and head south, or walk east from Metro Sèvres-Babylone (line 10). If you get off at Luxembourg (RER B), go northwest through the garden to get to the heart of the neighborhood.

Neighborhood History:

The Benedictine Abbey of St-Germain-des-Prés dates to the 6th century. Only the church remains, but it is considered the oldest in Paris. In one of the side chapels, you can find the tomb of philosopher René Descartes.

Around the 19th century, the area was frequented by painters like Manet and writers Balzac and Georges Sand.

After World War II, St-Germain exploded into a hotspot for existentialist thinking, avant-garde theater, painting and jazz. Picasso, Sartre, De Beauvoir, Beckett and Charles Gainsbourg are some of the famous names associated with the area.

Places of Interest:

Jardin du Luxembourg: The expansive gardens and overlooking Senate belong to the Luxembourg Palace, and are a respite from busy Paris. Stroll along the perfectly manicured lawns and flowers or sail a toy boat across the pond. If you’re lucky, you might catch a weekend jazz concert under the pavilion. Also make sure to check out the Musee du Luxembourg, Paris' oldest public museum and a historical hotbed of the arts in the city.

Musée d’Orsay: This famous museum houses mostly French art from the mid-1800s to early 1900s, including an extensive collection of impressionist works by artists such as Monet, Renoir and Cézanne.
