Karen Vyner-Brooks and Doc Mintz purchased this studio in 2004
The cottage was recently designed and built with a garden view; a light and bright space, with artistic touches throughout.
We are minutes from downtown Sebastopol, Bodega Bay and Sonoma County beaches, as well as from Armstrong Woods and the Russian River area.
Imagine stepping into your very own cottage hideaway, where every detail for your comfort and convenience has been thoughtfully arranged in advance of your arrival. That's exactly what you'll find at Karen and Doc's place. The cozy accommodations are pristine, the setting is serene, and Karen and Doc are a joy. I appreciated the bedside reading lamps, whisper-quiet ceiling fan, whimsical art, brightly lit bathroom mirror, and countless other small touches that insured several nights of blissful sleep. I hope to be back again soon!
We truly enjoyed our week long stay at the blue cottage. The bed was very comfortable and our hosts were helpful and yet gave us great privacy.
We hope to be back soon!
If you enjoy breakfast, make sure to go to the Gypsy cafe. Their breakfast stack is out of this world. Everything is scratch made. Super yummy!
Great place within a short drive of downtown. Doc and Karen have the right balance of being available in case you need anything, but not intruding into your stay.
That's what I felt as I drove into Sebastopol from Southern California. I was so relaxed when I arrived at the cottage. I enjoyed walking around the property and discovering the creative artistic pieces placed in all the right spots. Karen and Doc also have a bountiful raised bed garden that they share with their guests. The cozy cottage with it's heavenly bed and the functional outdoor kitchen and are the perfect companions to the beautifully landscaped grounds. The cat is super cute too. This is a wonderful place to relax and recharge your spirit.
I'm grateful to Karen and Doc for their lovely hospitality and can't wait to return for another visit.
We came up from Southern California for a wedding, and loved our stay! We had the craziest drive coming up, having been in a car accident, and the owners were so understanding and showed compassion for our situation. They were so sweet, and checked up on us throughout our stay to make sure things were going well. In addition to their kindness, the cottage was so comfy, with the cutest breakfast nook table, and the best bed EVER!!!!! Also, the unattached bathroom was super nice, with a roomy shower, and stocked with fresh towels. If what you are looking for is intimate, romantic, and relaxing, this is the place for you. When I find myself to be in Sonoma County again, I will be coming here! P.S.-The cat is amazing
I am an ex-Marinite stuck in Houston, and I visit N. California friends and family at least once a year. I've stayed in several places in Marin and Sonoma, and this cottage by far had the rest of them beat as far as accommodations and location go. Sebastapol is such a lovely place, and this cottage is nestled in a great spot in the hills, only about 30 minutes from Bodega Bay. Thanks to the owners for making this property available! I hope to be back next year sometime.
