One of only 58 residences in the newly built Sapphire Beach complex, Amikka is a duplex apartment of 1630 sq ft, situated right on Dover Beach on Barbados’ South West coast. Downstairs the apartment comprises a double bedroom with king sized bed, en-suite shower room, washer drier and plentiful storage space. Sliding doors open onto your own patio and onto one of Sapphire Beach’s two private fresh water swimming pools with gated access directly onto Dover Beach. Upstairs there is a further double bedroom with king sized bed (rear facing) and en-suite bathroom, plentiful storage, fully fitted and well equipped kitchen, spacious living area leading onto a large covered balcony. Balcony has a six seat table for al fresco dining, whilst the double arch windows give you the opportunity to dine in privacy. The balcony is south facing and from here you will see fantastic sunsets over the Caribbean Sea. The apartment comes with TV, iPod dock, air-con in both bedrooms & lounge. Sapphire Beach has a private gym.
The local beach: our family has been lucky enough to be holidaying in Barbados for a good number of years. So we knew that one of the critical factors for us when we decided to purchase a property on island was the quality of the beach and the safety of the water. We know from experience that there are many beautiful properties on island but the beaches and sea around them can be difficult for young or inexperienced or unsteady swimmers and we wanted to ensure that our whole family, every generation, could enjoy their time together all day. Dover Beach is beautiful but also gently shelving and with much calmer water than even the immediately adjacent beach which we have struggled to swim from. It is the choice of local families at weekends for good reason!
The island: At just 21 miles long and 14 miles wide, Barbados rivals destinations several times its size. Surrounded by over 70 miles of white sand beaches distinguished as some of the finest in the Caribbean, the island has long attracted visitors to its shores. With a beautiful landscape dotted by pristine golf courses, polo fields and elegant estates, world-class restaurants, vibrant night life and an exciting social calendar of cultural, music and sporting events, Barbados is truly an island paradise.
The climate: Just outside the main hurricane belt, the island enjoys year-round sunshine, cooling north-east trade winds and just enough rainfall to maintain its lush tropical gardens, gullies and rolling green fields of sugar cane, reminiscent of its history as an agricultural colony in the British Empire.
The people: Perhaps the island’s greatest asset is the warmth of its people. Barbadians are proud of their home and welcome visitors with open arms, making them feel as if they have lived next door all their life. We welcome you to experience the island’s unique culture and get a feel of what it truly means to be ‘Bajan’.
Fantastic condo; - stylish, modern, extremely well furnished, clean and very comfortable. Direct access to the two pools and a gate right on to one of the best beaches in Barbados. We certainly tried out many of the suggested restaurants in "the Gap" from fine dining to Rude Boyz Jamaican jerk kitchen which we really enjoyed. This is our second visit to your condo "Amikka" and it will definitely not be our last. Many thanks Mike and Andrea for making our vacation extremely memorable - we will be back; - guaranteed !!
Our recent stay here was absolutely fantastic. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The apartment is spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The bedrooms are large and have a lot of useful storage space. The kitchen is well equipped and very welcoming with the groceries provided.
The location is perfect with just a short walk to a number of really nice restaurants and bars. Even better, it takes a whole 15 seconds to reach the beach from the apartment! The beach is beautiful and there are a few choices for drinks/food within a minutes walk.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment, it felt like home for the week and added to our wonderful holiday.

Our check in was smooth and really simple, and the arrival grocery pack was a really nice touch!
The apartment is spacious, beautifully furnished and in a location that is second to none. The beach is just a few steps from the door, and the restaurants and bars of St Lawrence Gap are just a short stroll away.
We loved the detail that has been put into the fixtures and fittings, with absolutely everything you could need available in the apartment. The beds are HUGE and so comfortable, the kitchen is really well equipped too. We made good use of the ice maker for our rum punch - perfect for sipping while watching the sunset off the balcony!
The local area is great - we had lunch on the beach most days at Johnny Cools, and spent most evenings trying out various cocktail bars and restaurants in the Gap itself. We did not hire a car as we didn't need to, the bus service runs from the end of the gap and there are always taxis available too outside so we were able to get around easily.
I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment - it's super!
Arriving into Dover Beach, Barbados, we couldn't have been happier with our first impressions! We were greeted at our stunning apartment, given a tour of the complex and blown away by the surroundings, view and spectacular setup. The pool and beach couldn't have been any closer!
The property is incredibly well maintained with everything you could need for your stay. We particularly loved enjoying the balcony in the evening watching the sun go down, whilst playing the board games provided.
The rooms are incredibly spacious, light and airy, and the beds are dreamy - so comfortable and BIG!
The apartment is located in a lovely, unspoilt area of the island with plenty of delicious restaurants to choose from - I'd recommend Dover Beach and the Sapphire Beach apartments in a heartbeat to friends and family alike.
A stunning property, in an even more stunning setting. I would love to return one day!

This is a very very high quality apartment. The location is fabulous. The view from the balcony is amazing. The patio doors in the main bedroom open out onto a large pool. The wonderful beach and the warm waters of the Caribbean are just steps away. What's not to like?
The apartment is beautiful finished to a high standard. The furnishings are high quality. Everything has been thought of. Plenty of towels. Good quality bed linen. Very comfortable beds. The maid comes in twice a week to clean, change the towels and bed linen.
St Lawrence Gap is a pleasant 10 minute stroll away with excellent restaurants and great places for a drink. We highly recommend Primo and Harlequin. Sharkey's gives everyone a warm welcome and is an excellent place for a beer or a cocktail. They make a good breakfast as well.
Staying at this apartment has all of the advantages of being in a great hotel, but with privacy. The owners are very helpful and everything was easy. You'll be greeted on arrival by the agent. No fuss, no stress.
It was our second visit. It won't be our last!
We have just come back from the most superb week in Barbados...where do I even start! Mike & Andrea looked after our every need from our initial enquiry right through to answering our final questions in the days before we flew. The guide to Amikka has been thoughtfully put together and contains everything you might ever need to know. The property itself is even better than the pictures, it's clean, modern, well-equipped and the location couldn't be better! We've never stayed somewhere so close to such an idyllic beach and with the pool just outside the door, it was the perfect place to cool off after a day in the Caribbean sun.
We particularly enjoyed hiring a jeep for a few days and touring the island where we met the friendly locals and experienced the Bajan culture. St Lawrence Gap is a short ten minute walk away and is filled with delicious restaurants of different cuisines; we also absolutely loved a Friday night at Oistens, where we listened to live music and ate fantastic, fresh, grilled fish. A catamaran cruise around the island topped everything off, swimming with the turtles was an unforgettable experience and is a must do when in Barbados.
We felt really looked after throughout our whole stay, Keisha was always just a phone call away and Primrose ensured the place was spotless! We couldn't recommend this place more... perfect weather, accommodation and culture, thank you Mike & Andrea for a superb holiday, we hope to be back very soon!

Sapphire Beach is located in Dover, Christ Church; an area known for its beautiful white sand beaches and vibrant lifestyle. From our condo you can enjoy a cocktail by the pool, take a dip in the warm Caribbean Sea or enjoy the sunset from your private balcony. Unlike adjacent beaches, the sea here is considered safe for swimming and is frequented by local families. We are just a 7 minute walk into St Lawrence Gap, home to bars and restaurants where you can enjoy a taste of ‘Bajan’ culture. Listen to a live band, dance under the stars or enjoy a delightful cocktail at a range of lounges and clubs frequented by visitors and locals alike. Local buses take you the short distance into the capital Bridgetown, where you will find a wide range of shopping, or continue further up the West Coast to sample some of Barbados' most exclusive hotels. All beaches on the island are public. A 30 minute drive will get you to the stunning East Coast, battered by Atlantic waves and a surfer's paradise.
