Villa Azure is an impressive modern villa with a large 52m2 infinity pool set on a hillside terrace in what we believe to be the most attractive and private location in the Chania area. As the name suggests, Villa Azure has outstanding views over the sparkling blue seas of Souda Bay to the north, and rich green valleys of olive trees and vineyards to the spectacular White Mountains in the south. Tucked away at the end of an unmade road, and hidden by olive, cypress and pine trees, Villa Azure is ideal for those seeking a luxurious hideaway that is nevertheless only a short distance from the sandy beaches, waterfront tavernas, and many amenities that the pretty seaside resorts of Almyrida and Kalives have to offer.

Villa Azure has quality furnishings and the comfortable feel of a well-equipped and very spacious home. In order to ensure total peace and privacy for each guest, none of the bedrooms share adjoining walls but every bedroom has its own en-suite shower room and A/C unit.

The majority of the villa is set on one level with only the games room / 5th sleeping area on the lower level, Villa Azure is incredibly versatile and absolutely ideal for everyone, from the elderly and handicapped, to romantic couples, and large families or groups of varying ages. Parents can enjoy some quiet time whilst children and teenagers amuse themselves in the games room and separate lounge area which has couches, Free WIFI internet access, a 42 inch flat screen TV, a satellite box, a DVD player, surround sound system, a CD player, a play station, a table football, a ping pong table, and a selection of DVD’s, play station games, card games and books. Two single beds are also located on the lower level for additional guests. Originally planned as a full-time home for the owners, the villa’s many modern comforts include a very well equipped kitchen, a utility room, internet access, a hair-dryer, ceiling fans, mosquito screens, white aluminium doors, window frames, and shutters.

Despite the light and airy interiors, Villa Azure’s guests will spend the majority of their holiday relaxing on the outdoor terraces, all of which enjoy gorgeous, uninterrupted views. Special emphasis has been has been paid to the pool terrace and dining terrace where you can chill out on a sun-lounger or dine al-fresco in total privacy, or shade.with a choice of sun The 12m x 5m pool has an infinity edge that looks down the valley of olive groves and vineyards to the White Mountains and Souda Bay. The pool also features an unusual swim-up marble counter top bar with in-pool stools and a sunken bar serving area with a sink – perfect for a long, cool drink at any time! For those food lovers amongst you, close to the pool is the stone barbecue, and forno (traditional oven), and the pergola covered dining area. A roof terrace has sun at all hours of the day providing for sheltered sunbathing. It is also the perfect vantage point for looking at the fantastic sunsets.

Set in private gardens which are romantically lit at night and bordered by grass, natural stone walls and olive trees, the landscaping at Villa Azure is due to be completed in the Winter of 2009 and is therefore not yet reflected in the current photographs (as is the indoor games room). Flowerbeds around the property will be planted with oleander, Washington palms, bougainvillea, gardenia, birds of paradise and citrus trees. A gated driveway connects to green, hilly countryside with a network of small tracks that are idyllic for walkers.

All in all, this enchanting villa is an impressive escape for those seeking privacy and seclusion, breathtaking views, and easy access to a wide choice of sites and amenities.

Villa Azure is exclusively booked by Frankie Miles. Frankie runs Villas Crete Holidays which is a registered Tourist Office, based in Hampshire, England and Almyrida, Crete. Whilst most travel companies cover many different countries and/or areas of Greece and Crete, we at Villas Crete Holidays only work in the North West of Crete and we specialise in the Apokoranas region, just east of the historic Venetian town of Chania. The Apokoronas (including the villages of Almyrida, Kalives, Kokkino Horio, Plaka and Gavalohori) has long been a popular destination for holiday makers seeking a typically Greek seaside resort area that has many amenities, but is far removed from brash tourism. The area is renowned for its sandy beaches, crystal clear turquoise water, stunning views of Souda Bay and The White Mountains, excellent tavernas, and archaeological sites.

Frankie is very hands-on at Villas Crete Holiday. She has worked with rental villas on Crete for more than 18 years and has written the best selling guide book "Crete on the Road". The book includes detailed directions and information to all the major tourist attractions, as well as many hidden sites. Also in the book is the only existing map of the National Highway showing all of the entrances/exits and distances. Before Crete, Frankie lived all over the world. She initially came to Crete for 1 season after 12 hectic years in New York working various jobs including: office manager for the band Simply Red; production assistant to the singer Paul Simon; and booking bands such as Guns N’ Roses for The Limelight nightclub. All of this was no match, however, to the fantastic weather and food, the warmth of the Cretan people, and the exquisite natural beauty of Crete. When (very occasionally) not working, Frankie spends time helping the stray animals of Crete.

Despite the total privacy and rural setting, Villa Azure is only a few minutes drive from the beaches, shops, and tavernas in Almyrida and Kalives, and is only 30 minutes from Chania airport.

Every amenity that you could possibly ask for is at Villa Azure including free WIFI and a fantastic games room.

It is very rare to find a villa on Crete that has any form of pool heating but Villa Azure does have solar panels to help boost the water temperature. Whilst this form of heating does entirely depend upon the amount of sun each day, and the air temperature at night, it is better than a pool without any form of heating because they are decidedly chilly.

The beach at Kera 1.85km on the main dirt road from the villa, but much less as the crow flies. It is a quiet cove like beach as there are no sun-beds or cafes here therefore it is ideal for picnics. The water is shallow and there is a choice of pebbles or sand. The lovely village of Almyrida is 2.8km from Villa Azure, and is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, which is good news if you have children or are not a strong swimmer. Lining the beach are 11 excellent tavernas, 6 cafés, 2 bars, 2 bakeries, a wonderful jewellery shop, 4 mini-markets, 6 gift shops, a pharmacy, an organic fruit and vegetable shop with a deli counter, an off-license, a butcher, a nail spa, a body and wellness spa, a hairdresser, and Villas Crete Holidays for tourist information, private boat hire, boat trips, big game fishing, horse riding, private sightseeing flights, and organised walking and coach tours. Also in Almyrida there is a scuba diving office, a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans, and an area with pool tables and a number of games machines.

The village of Kalives is 3km away and has long been a popular destination for holiday makers seeking a typically Greek seaside resort that has many amenities but is far removed from brash tourism. Kalives stretches along 4 kilometres of sandy beaches, and the narrow main street is lined with old white washed houses. Two rivers run join the sea at Kalives, and there is a traditional fishing boat harbour at the eastern end of the village. There is an abundance of excellent tavernas and cafes lining the seafront, and there are shops of every description.

A few minutes by car there are a variety of archaeological sites, quaint villages, and an interesting selection of small craft centres and museums, including glass blowing in Kokkino Horio, lace makers in Gavalohori, and silk makers in Kalamitsi.

For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 45 minutes away by car. With its stunning Venetian harbour, quayside bars and restaurants, what better place to relax and watch the world go by. In the narrow streets behind the harbour you will find tavernas, bars, the famous covered market, and many local shops selling handicrafts, textiles, jewellery and ceramics.

Guests receive a free welcome pack, a villa information book,and detailed directions from the guide book 'Crete on the Road' by Frankie Miles that is provided with every booking. A local representative is available during office hours for local information and bookings for private boat trips and boat hire, horse riding, big game fishing, guided walking and coach excursions, private sightseeing flights, and 24/7 assistance is available for medical emergencies.

We ask for a deposit of 20% on villas with a total rental price of 1000.00 Euros or more, and 200.00 Euros for villas with a total rental price of less than 1000.00 Euros, with the final balance paid 10 weeks before your arrival date. If you book 10 weeks or less before the booking we require full payment at the time of booking. We accept payments via bank transfer or personal Visa or Mastercard.

A stone archway leads into the kitchen and 2nd dining area where there is a marble top dining table and 8 chairs. The modern kitchen is equipped with cream cabinets, a black wood effect work surface, a dishwasher, built in oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, and a central island with a gas hob and chrome cylinder lighting unit, which also doubles up as a breakfast bar with 4 black Perspex and chrome bar stools.
