About Krista DeRoma
I am a girl of all kinds of trades and generally full of ideas for new and exciting ventures. Which is how we ended up here on St. John. My husband Lenny and I love traveling along with our now grown children and our two Labradors, we have wonderful friends and family. We are blessed with so many gifts from others. I love horticulture, gardening and creating new spaces. I am a graduate from both the University of Maryland and also a graduate from The New York Botanical Garden School of Professional Horticulture. I help manage a 100 acre vineyard on Long Island and I own and operate my own design and horticultural firm for private residences. I did most of my studying in Tuscany, Italy and also building rooftop gardens in Manhattan, New York. Lenny my husband is a consultant in the financial banking world. We are a great team and coming to St. John was one of the best things that we have ever decided to do. We love people of all sorts and making new friends and Tradewinds has helped introduce us to the many wonderful people that have crossed our path because of our mutual love for such a beautiful place in the world.

Why Krista DeRoma chose Estate Concordia A
After vacationing for several years in Virgin Gorda and then deciding to "go American" we came to St. John and vacationed here for about 6 years. After we lost all of the elderly loved ones in our family within a relatively short period of time, we decided that we needed to do something fun for us. One day I saw a real estate listing for Tradewinds and I said to my husband, "hey what do you think of this place?" his response, "let's make an offer!" We hadn't even visited Tradewinds. The photos that you see are what we saw. We just went with our gut and dove right in! Here we are. So excited and so happy to be able to share our home with so many wonderful people.
What makes this Cottage unique
The great thing about Tradewinds is you can relax and do nothing or you can fill your day with hiking, swimming, snorkeling or go shopping in Cruz Bay or even St. Thomas. That is what I love about this place. But for us, we are very big supporters of our National Parks and living near to the NP was key for us. It creates a place and atmosphere like no other with beauty and tranquility all around us. Our home Tradewinds lets in the beauty of the outside surrounding area. From the wide and large windows throughout the cottage you can see the mountainside of the National Park and then also three sides of the ocean and islands all around you. You can't escape the beauty anywhere even from within the house. Its natural light glowing through the windows all day gives you such warmth from within. It is just so special. The outdoor deck and sitting area. The bedrooms with their large windows. We have stayed at so many homes in the area and this house I knew was special. It just feels like home and there is no other way to say it.

Sunrises in Paradise
Everything about this stay was great. One one direction it's just a two minute drive to Salt Pond bay and the trail head to Rams Head, and in the other direction it's only 10 minutes to Skinny Legs' amazing burgers or a half hour to an amazing sunset view at Trunk Bay. Waking up every morning to an amazing sunrise right from your back porch was indescribable. We absolutely recommend the property to anyone looking to get away
We are so happy to know that Tradewinds treated you well while you were staying. Nothing is more rewarding than when all is said and done our guests have had a memorable and fabulous visit. Please do come back again anytime now that you know the way. Sunny regards, Krista
We had a great stay at Tradewinds

First visit to the Quieter Side
We had a wonderful stay at the Tradewinds! The house was clean and bright upon arrival, had all of stuff we needed for a comfortable stay and there was no better feeling then throwing all the windows and doors open and having a constant breeze flowing. Loved the water dishes out front that always kept us looking for birds, frogs etc each morning or upon returning later in the day. If you are looking for a great secluded place near Coral Bay, the perfect spot.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of Tradewinds! The house is appropriately named as those delicious cool breezes that come off the ocean are steady and welcoming in the summer heat. We are so glad you had a perfect time. Please come back as soon as you are able. We love making new friends and family at Tradewinds! Sunny regards, Krista and Lenny

Tradewinds is located in the ideal viewing position with Tortola to the north, east end of St. John and the chain of British Virgin Islands directly east, with the views of the Caribbean Sea to the south. We are a home which is completely for relaxation and enjoyment. Coral Bay can give you restaurants and entertainment in the day and evenings. Our beautiful Salt Pond Bay is one of the magnificent National Park beaches and you can walk there if you desire on one of the National Park trails. Snorkeling is fabulous at Salt Pond with many turtles swimming, white sand beach and someone what off the beaten path. Most of the tourists don't make it to Salt Pond because we are on the "quieter side" of the island. Miss Lucys restaurant is nearby and has great food and cocktails on the beach along with their very famous Sunday morning Jazz Brunch. A must do!
