About Virginia Cole
Bud and Jan Cole, a brother/sister team, hail from six generations of UP natives and lovers. Both share a passion for the history, pristine natural beauty and people of the Keweenaw Peninsula. Together, they work to restore historic properties to their full potential, incorporating old world charm with contemporary sensibility. Their appreciation of the area translates into a willingness to guide you to splendid trails and back country, historic venues full of fact and legend, and a easy place to enjoy a meal with friends and family at the end of the day.

This cabin was outstanding in every way! From the fresh flowers in the bedroom & on the dining table to the basket of local goodies to the sparkling clean cabin to the view of the lake! We really loved the books about the area & the restaurant recommendation was wonderful. The kitchen is stocked with anything you might need including paper plates! I honestly can’t think of any way to improve this property! Thank you for a fantastic stay!
What a marvelous gem of a cottage in Eagle River, MI! This little log cabin is all, new and beautiful inside. Perfect place for a couple to relax. Loved the chairs and fire pot on the crest of the hill with a great view of Lake Superior. The cabin is well stocked - far better than any condo rental we have had in Florida and elsewhere. Loved our stay!
P.S. And thank you to our hosts for the goodies - we enjoyed the Keweenaw coffee so much we stopped in Calumet to buy some to take home. And the cinnamon bread was delicious!
Neat cottage far away from “civilization “

Thanks so much -
Super Nice cabin - awesome location
Loved our stay there, the property was immaculate, everything worked, just a delightful place. The beach is close by. It is the UP of Michigan, so 50's @ night is quite common, but the bed linen was very warm. Good breeze in the cabin, bathroom was awesome. Overall a A+ experience. Only thing I could say that was not perfect, but wife & I both thought the bed was very soft - overly so. Kept rolling together in the middle, not so bad from my point of view - but she has minor back issues. Got through it fine though. I would "HIGHLY" recommend this place to anyone looking to explore the Keweenaw Pennisula from Copper Harbor to Hougton. Check out Bete Gris beach, JamPot bakery, Wooden Spoon in Mohawk. You can get anything you need in Calumet about 20 mins away. Visit the Copper World gift shop in Calumet - it's awesome! Beware not any real shopping in Eagle River out side of ice-cream at the local general store. Bring what you want in the way of food stuffs. The fire utensial "Solo Fire Pit" was excellent too.
Thanks so much for the kind review and the heads up on the mattress. The manufacturer replaced it for us since it was new. Appreciate the feedback!
Right when you walk into the door of this rental property, you feel like you are at home. It has a warm, cozy vibe with all of the essentials you need and then some for a comfortable stay while enjoying the beauty of the Keweenaw. Perfect location for our mini-moon!
Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula is surrounded by the clear waters of Lake Superior. Sandy beaches, rocky shorelines, technicolor sunsets, vivid night skies, piney woods, adventure, solitude, history, wonder... you'll find it here.
