Beautifully nestled against the Santa Rosa Mountains, this home is located in a quiet neighborhood of the La Quinta Cove, long considered the 'Gem of the Desert'. You will have it all within minutes of this lovely home. This house is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac and boasts 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. A large kitchen with breakfast nook and all utensils, espresso machine, electric tea pot, blender, popcorn maker, microwave, cusinart food processor, toaster and coffeemaker provided to create that home cooked meal if you so desire. Hardwood floors, fireplace and large picture windows provide beautiful mountain vistas. This lovely home sits on 1/2 acres, completely gated with citrus trees, huge lawn area for games, a beautiful solar heated salt water pool large enough for swimming laps and a tanning shelf. Please note solar heat is temperature dependent and pool heating may not be available. All this plus a stainless steel BBQ will help you unwind in your own private resort.

Fine linens and wonderfully comfortable beds will insure a blissful night sleep. Wake up refreshed to unbelievable mountain views, birds singing, desert fauna and biking and hiking trails right outside your door. Other amenities include 55' flat screen TV in living room with DVD system, free Wi-Fi, cable, surround sound and Netflix streaming provided.

About Lisa Elhardt

While escaping from the cold, wet winter of the Pacific Northwest, we fell in love with the Coachella Valley. Buying a home here was not in the plans until we discovered La Quinta Cove. The views are breath taking and the weather is a perfect tonic. Rugged mountains, lush plantings,a wonderful combination of south west and mediterranean architecture combine with endless recreational activities. The bike path and walking trails right next to our home is unique. Just a 3 block walk to the park and Old Town restaurants, wine bar, shopping, art, farmers market and museums. McCallum Theater is just 9 miles away. We love the culture and walk ability of our native Seattle and don't think we are missing a thing in La Quinta. We love that every thing in the desert is so close. You can get anywhere in 30 minutes.No traffic. This is just a very relaxing place to be. Best decision we have ever made.

The outside is Fantastic! Inside is just ok. Very dated and cluttered. Pictures need to be updated

Good for a family vacation. Plenty of space for all. The biggest peeve was the cleanliness. There was soo much dust. All the book shelves look like it's been awhile. Second 3 of our 5 in the family had severe allergic reaction from the dust and hairs. Not sure if it's a cat or dog but they were in the master and dining room. We had to run to the store to get meds. It was even worse when the AC went off. Owners need to check that whoever is cleaning is doing a thorough job. It looked like it hadn't been vacuumed at all. The original microwave didn't work and neither did the one on the counter .Bummer. And the lady who opened the house had no clue of anything . She literally walked us to each room pointing to things saying "here is your bed" here is the tv. Duh but when I asked about the bathroom near the pool she said she didn't know? Good thing we explored and found the pool towels. Also the pictures posted online are dated. The house has much More furniture and filled with stuff. I felt like I was in someone's home not a rental oasis. Overall it was OK but I would not rent here again due to the pet hairs. I'm looking forward to going home and no more sneezing and coughing. If you use this house for pets you should disclose that. If we had our nephew with us he would have ended up in the ER for sure. Allergies to pets is no joke without the meds I was choking.

Owner's Response: We are always extremely grateful to the guests who choose to spend their vacations at Casa Elhardt Bungalow. The cleanliness of our rental property is taken very seriously, and we are sorry to hear that there were allergy issues during this guest's stay. Our renters are never allowed to bring any type of pets onto the premises, and both the indoor and outdoor spaces are thoroughly cleaned - by a professional cleaning service - prior to each new guest's arrival. We find it necessary to point out that we have never received similar complaints during the five years that we have rented out this property. To be honest, we think the claim that the pictures are "dated" is disingenuous. The only new furniture additions are a small butcher block in the kitchen and a bookshelf in the living room with a minimal footprint. We are deliberate about investing in high-quality furniture, and if anything these pieces only make the property more valuable. Our guests frequently comment on the spacious, well-decorated interior of this house. We are certain that any claims of "clutter" would be vigorously contested by the numerous wheel-chair bound visitors who we have accommodated throughout the years. Regarding the microwaves, they will be promptly checked but they were both quite functional immediately before this guest's stay. We take great pride in this beautiful property, and we constantly strive to optimize the experience of all our visitors.

Beautiful House and Property

We enjoyed a nice weekend getaway at this beautiful home. Between the gorgeous landscaping and the pool the backyard is the perfect place to relax. The house was clean, nicely updated, and very well maintained. We will definitely be booking another stay at Casa Elhardt.

Lovely Grounds and House

We stayed at this property for four nights in April 2017. The highlight of the property is the large, lovely, and well maintained yard; we especially enjoyed the fresh grapefruit juice! The house is very well furnished with kitchen equipment, cooking essentials, games and DVD's. If you need to get some work done (alas), there is a nice office nook near the entry. Making arrangements with the Owner was easy, and the property manager lives nearby and was very responsive to our questions. We would rent this property again!

A Backyard of Tranquility Amid a Crazy Weekend.

I was absolutely ecstatic when Al, the property manager, first showed us around the home. The pictures do not do it justice. While we spent our afternoons and nights at Coachella, it was the perfect place to return to each night away from the field, as well as wake up and visit on the patio each morning with coffee before beginning the day again. I could not have asked for a better stay for comfort, price, and convenience. Thank you again Lisa for opening up your desert home to us!

Very nice bungalow with a great location within walking distance of La Quinta downtown. Bungalow is comfortable and has everything we needed. Landscaping is lovely. Thanks also to Al Garcia the property manager who was very helpful! We would stay here again.

Lovely house in beautiful grounds

Stayed here two weeks in February. The house is very comfortable and well stocked with everything you will need for your stay. The outstanding feature of the property is the garden: very extensive with lots of comfortable seating, loungers, salt-water pool and barbecue. We were able to pick grapefruits, lemons and oranges and all were delicious. The neighbourhood is very good; felt safe at all times and we enjoyed walking the bear creek trail which passes the house. There are many restaurants and plenty of food markets to choose from in the area. We found La Quinta ideally placed for many excursions to places of interest, especially Coachella Valley Preserve, Big Morongo Canyon Preserve and of course Joshua Tree National Park.

The only downside we would say is that the kitchen has very limited storage; our first trip out to buy groceries we discovered there was hardly any space to store anything. Every cupboard was already packed with things and even the obvious larder-sized cupboard where you might think to store packets of cereal etc was already full of DVDs and books. We enjoy a glass of wine with our dinner, but couldn't find proper wine glasses anywhere.

The property manager, Al Garcia, was responsive and very helpful.

All in all, we would recommend this rental.

Owner's Response: We are delighted you enjoyed your stay! Me and my son, a landscape architect designed and built the garden. I agree it is a wonderful surround for the salt water pool. I think you make a valid point concerning kitchen storage. In an effort to supply every kitchen item a cook would want, we are a family of enthusiastic chefs, we may have left less storage than is ideal. I will consolidate. The popular Coachella Music festival is 5 miles away at the Polo Club. Old Town is 4-5 blocks away with wonderful shops, bars, restaurants and the wine shop.
