During the summer months, the spectacle of Course Landaise can be seen at many nearby locations. Not suitable for young children.

About Undine Reder

Your hosts are Undine and Bill who have travelled extensively and use their experiences to ensure your stay is one to remember.

Undine Reder purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Undine Reder chose Pyrenees-Atlantiques

The main house is a typical Bearn farmhouse built in 1822. The gite is part of the old barn and was extensively modernised in 2010.

Ambiance of calm predominates here.

You are in the only gite on the property.

What makes this cottage unique

The attractive buildings and the calm atmosphere in this rural setting looking out over the vineyards, with Pic du Midi de Bigorre in the far distance.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Warm welcome by Bill & Undine Reder. Well appointed accommodation- choice of double or twin beds. Excellent cooking and dining facilities. Immediate attention to any special requests (eg. heater at end of October). The Reders full of info about the area: sights, walks, restaurants. We shall definitely return.

We spent a week with Undine and Bill in May 2009, with our young daughter. The gite is beautiful, with lots of character and it is well equipped. The views from the property are amazing and the hosts are extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. The area is quiet and unspolit, with wonderful wineries within a few miles. If you want a truly peaceful French holiday, in an area away from the main tourist hotspots, this is the place to be!

Fantastic, first class.

  • 5 of 5

The owners Bill and Undine couldn’t have done more to make our holiday any more enjoyable. We all had a fantastic time. The gite was so beautiful and they couldn't have provided anything else that would have made it any better. Their kindness and wonderful hospitality added to the perfection. The pool was fantastic. A very good size and a lovely area to sunbathe in.

The area was an ideal base for our exploring and we found some wonderful places; The Pyrenees were breathtaking and I especially enjoyed the local markets at Lembeye and Aire Sur L'adour. We have been telling our friends and family about the lovely food we had whilst on our travels. I think our favourite was in Lembeye run by those two lovely men one of which allowed me to try out my French even though it isn't that good. The De La Tour. I have never enjoyed a meal so much. I also think it is worth mentioning The D'Artagnan in Riscle which on first glance, didn't if I'm honest appeal to me but I had a wonderful 3-course meal for only 12euros!

Malcolm's favourite was of course the rather large bowl of soup which he received as a starter at the Relais D'Aydie.

We have some wonderful photographs and very happy memories of our time spent at Lou Campet. Sitting on our patio just outside the gite for breakfast lunch and dinner was so relaxing. What more could you want from a holiday.

This is also a lovely wine region. I have to say that small independent vineyard in Sarragachies make the most beautiful sweet rose wine I have ever tasted. If I could have brought a cellar full of that home I would have been very happy.

Best ever gite!

  • 5 of 5

The listing was accurate, but what a surprise when we arrived and found the best Gite ever, equipped, furnished and all located in the beautiful countryside with a pool to die for. Undine & Bill just added to the experience with guidance to the markets, vineyards and restaurants.

We have put it on our ‘to go back to’ list and would recommend it for people who appreciate the finer things in life.

Thanks again

Exactly what it sys on the tin.

  • 5 of 5

We both needed a restful holiday in beautiful and peaceful surroundings and that is exactly what we got. Lou Campet provided the perfect accomodation, everything one needed was provided whilst still retaining a French rural feel. A major bonus was the combination of the rural location providing a feeling of being in the middle of nowhere whilst actually being within easy striking distance of the Pyrennes, the coast and, not that far away, Toulouse.

Bill and Undine were the perfect hosts, welcoming and helpful yet discreet. A lesson some gite owners could learn.

The highest praise, however, is the fact we would go again.

Escape to Madiran country

  • 5 of 5

This was the first time we had stayed with the owners "on site", we need not have worried both Undine and Bill were friendly and welcoming, they had plenty of ideas of what to do and even supplied us with fresh vegetables from the garden. The gite had all "mod cons", including a newly revamped shower with pebble floor (wonderfully tactile) the decor is themed and very relaxing with a flavour of Africa meets France, we could eat on the patio and look out over the vineyards towards Crousielles chateau which was beautifully lit in the evening. The heated pool was pure bliss. Whilst this is the ideal spot for relaxation don't miss going to the summit of the Pic du Midi, the spectacle of Lourdes and of course winetasting in the cave in Madiran, not forgetting a wonderful Sunday lunch at Au Rey in Gayon.

Harmonie in Haus und Garten

  • 5 of 5
