Happily married couple with a deep love for Cape Breton. Over 42 years ago we went on a date in Margaree Harbour and have loved the community ever since. We met at Mount Allison University in the winter of 1975 and currently live in Wolfville NS. Because of work commitments we reside in Wolfville NS and visit Margaree Harbour as often as possible. In 2013 we were fortunate to find the ideal location for our dream home in our beloved Margaree Harbour! The peaceful surroundings, natural beauty, wonderful neighbors, majestic mountains and the sand at Margaree Harbour beach creates a magnetic drawing force we find impossible to resist. Kevin grew up in Cape Breton and his parents retired in the Margaree Valley. Cathy grew up in Shubenacadie NS and has been an honorary Caper in her heart for the past 40 years.

Cathy and I discovered this piece of heaven called Margaree Harbour over 42 years ago. We were a young couple dating and planning for our married life to begin. As luck would have it, we both agree Margaree Harbour is a unique community that makes us more relaxed. When we visit Margaree Harbour we are more at peace and always feel recharged after a few days in this restful community. We will be regulars at Cabot Bhreagh with our family and friends in tow. What makes this House unique

Why we fell in love with Margaree Harbour and Cabot Bhreagh? To find out, I would suggest you take a bike ride or walk on a warm sunny day down the Margaree Harbour Village road, round the turn and past Laurence's General Store/Post office and the two light houses and climb up over the dunes onto the lovely pristine sandy cove of Margaree Harbour beach. It is natural gem and very serene as the waves lap the shore. The sun makes the waves sparkle like diamonds and the water is surprisingly warm (Gulf Stream affect). You will start to feel what we feel about this quaint community. Sit and absorb this lovely cove listening to the ocean's waves crashing and to the sea birds singing. Smell the wild roses and tall grasses as they sway in the constant breeze. The feelings of overwhelming beauty, peace and grace changes the pattern of our minds. We feel, think and act differently after a short course of Margaree Harbour "Therapy". On your walk back up the road stop in to say hello to Fletcher Laurence, third generation proprietor of the general store which was started by his grandfather in the 1880s. Take the time to hear a few stories about life in Margaree Harbour. We guarantee it will be well worth the time. As you come to the United Church look left and Cabot Bhreagh is sitting in the field near the water's edge. We planned and built this home over the past 3 years with the one guiding principle in mind; make this home the ideal place for families and friends to come, gather and have at least of a few days of Margaree Harbour "Therapy". We feel in our hearts that anyone who has this opportunity will never forget this remarkable part of Cape Breton Island. Long after your trip to Cabot Bhreagh we know the effect from the beauty and peacefulness of this place will resonate in your hearts and minds as it does for us. Life is lovely at the harbour.
