Hidden in Plain Sight
The old Florida cottage sits with a couple of others on a river behind a boat storage lot on the Jupiter's beach road. It is only a hop and skip from Jupiter's most popular bar/restaurant, and shares the same water view, but you would never know it was there. Very cool. Basic but clean and roomy enough. Both ends of the cottage (the garage and Florida room) have been remodeled as separate rental units, but this was not a problem - no noise carried and our neighbors were all great. If you are looking for luxury or shuffleboard, this is not the place, but if you are up for a unique Florida experience (that I am guessing will soon disappear), this is it. Close to parks, beaches, restaurants. Loved it!
You expressed our feelings exactly, this is for the person wanting to experience the luxury of relaxation, scenery, peace, and not material.
We strive to make it neat and clean and the on-site manager, Sean, is there is to trouble shoot any unexpected snag.
It is, as you so accurately described, a slice of old Florida which is disappearing in Southeast Fla.
We really need to update the pictures as the furnishings, landscaping, and exterior have all improved over the last couple of years.
Thanks for your comments, hope to have you next year.
Great location, walking distance from the beach, restaurants and other attractions.
The house is great and Tim is quick to respond to any issues. Would definitely stay here again!
Great little rental home - Fantastic location!
The location is great! This property is ideally located in Jupiter because it is right on A1A near the inlet where there restaurants, the beach, docks, parks, hotels, etc. are all walkable. Also, the property is off the road, so it is very quiet (esp at night).
- To orient yourself, note that while this is a house, it is effectively a 3 bedroom apartment in a house that has two other units connected to it (I believe the other two units are smaller).
- This is an old-school Florida home. My wife has remarked how it reminds her of the homes she grew up in.
- There are three bedrooms, all with comfortable beds. One is a little firmer, one is a little softer, and one is in the middle (I tried all three!).
- The two bathrooms are clean and functional. One has a walk-in shower, the other is a more traditional bathtub/shower combo.
- Although it is old-school, it still has the basic modern conveniences - Internet, cable TV, dishwasher, microwave, laundry room.
- It has parking for at least 2 cars on the pad, but it's so large I imagine you could park 3 or even 4 cars if you needed to.
- The owner / manager is great - He's been helpful and accommodating.
All in all, definitely recommend if you are looking for a well-located 3 bedroom apartment.
Clean but not as private or quiet as I was hoping
Owner was good at communicating and easy to work with. House was old but clean and good size rooms. Not well stocked with bathroom essentials, glasses, plates, etc. neighbors are very close and share laundry and back yard. No gas for grill which is also shared. Felt like I was in someone else's space. Good location for walking to restaurants and sight seeing. Ok for me and some guys to crash on a fishing trip but don't know that my family would have worked as well. If you are a kayak or paddle board person this is great for entry to the intercostal. Could be 5 star with some minor inexpensive fixes. As is, a good solid average with great location and great owners with communication.
The guest reported some of the glasses and wash cloths were missing. We responded by dropping off these essentials (which are ofcourse always included) We explained our regular cleaning crew was on vacation and our substitute crew didn't check inventory as instructed. A review of previous guest reviews will reveal this to be an anomaly.
Our clients keep returning precisely due the privacy factor. The backyard is like being in the Fla Keys with a vacant 4 acre parcel south and tall privacy fence between our north neighbor. The view west is water and past that is Burt Reynolds Park, (the property backs to the Old Intracoastal with no view of housing)., To the east - A long drive several hundred feet from the road (A1A), very unusual to have this kind of the privacy so close to the beach here in Jupiter.
We have many clients who return year after year with children, even babies, explaining there is no place like it in Jupiter. And very much unlike the crowded condominium units and zero lot line units we compete with.
The gas grill is not shared, there are two grills in the backyard, one is gas and one charcoal. We did permit this guest to use the gas grill and the guest had the exclusive use of this grill.
As far as communication, yes we do everything we can to make our guests stay satisfactory including responding with delivery to anything they may need or would expect to have included. These are rare occasions but when adjustments are made to the clients satisfaction they depart as having a pleasant experience per our reviews.
Off the beating path. Once we got settled it was really cool. In for a wedding at Jupiter Inlet and it was very convenient.
Dog Friendly, simple, clean, convenient location
Owner helpful in answering my questions in advance and while we were there. The house is divided into 3 sections. We stayed in the large middle section which was the house. Has terrazzo floors, a leather couch & chair - made it dog friendly. Quiet, we never heard the long term tenant on one side. And didn't hear our friend & dogs on the other side in the 1 bedroom separate apartment.
Out back is a peaceful view of the mangroves and a channel on the back of Jupiter Island park. One side of the house is a large undeveloped piece of land where we walked our dogs, the other side was a privacy fence 2 houses, then a public park and boat marina where people could boat to Guanabanas. The only way to see the view is to go outside. Kitchen window has a bit of a view but is over the AC compressor, & 1 back bedroom has a view, but that window is over the AC unit for the 1 bedroom next door. Back bedroom also had the door to access back yard.
Had a small concrete pad to sit on outside the door, but the ac from the 1 bedroom is there so was much nicer to go out and sit under the big oak tree. Our friend had a very nice new deck, a gas grill and there was a charcoal grill. Never used since there were so many great restaurants within walking distance. It is quiet, we could not hear the bands at Guanabanas, though we could see their outdoor seating. Not sure how the other visitors launched their kayak, its a steep set of stairs down to the water. Doable but not easy. Jupiter Outdoor center within walking distance to rent kayaks. Have breakfast at Guanabanas Sat/Sun. New sidewalks on road out front make it walking/bike friendly
Never cooked, but used the new coffee pot, also had a toaster and blender. Microwave looks old. 4 wine glasses, 4 plates, bowls etc a few coffee cups, wine opener. He made sure we had coffee filters. Bring your own spices if your cooking. Had starter paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher soap, trash bags etc. Bar soap in the bathrooms. Good towels. Nice bedding. Ceiling fans which helped with our only major problem. We were there in July and the AC just could not keep it cool. Said it was 76 during the day but was much hotter & only dropped 2 degrees at night with AC running non stop. His AC guy was out, also his electrician, the 1 bedroom - the breaker kept tripping so she had to rely on the new ac in her bedroom. We so appreciate his being dog friendly.
