About sue hawken
I am Sue Hawken and I own Glebe Cottage, which I run as a holiday property. I also live in St Ewe so I am on hand to sort out any problems that may arise during your stay.
sue hawken purchased this Cottage in 2009
Why sue hawken chose Saint Ewe
Glebe Cottage was built in 2009 as a holiday cottage. We wanted to build a property that used traditional materials but made the most of twentieth technology and we hope that we achieved something that fits well into this ancient village. We hope that we have thought of everything you might need to make your holiday as comfortable as possible.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage enjoys a fabulous view over farmland. Although it is in the middle of the village, it is quiet and private and a very calming place to spend time away from home.

5 star accommodation in excellent location.
Fabulous property in an excellent location with a very special outlook, all you could want from a holiday home and more ideal for a Family with excellent inclosed gardens making it very child friendly.
Wonderful cottage in a great location!
My partner I loved this bright and modern cottage. As first time visitors to Cornwall, I dont think we could have found a better place locationwise. Near a lot of sights, but still away from the hustle and buster. And a view from the living room to die for!
Sue replied to all emails and texts with lightning speed. And we too loved hear lemon cake!
Lots and lots of amenities for cooking etc. in the cottage. We thought the Waitrose in Truro (20 min by car) was the best grocery in the area - by far.
Any negatives? Not really. We found the main bedroom a bit bright in the morning (not possible to cover one of the windows high up, near the ceiling), but that is a matter of personal preference.
Book this. You will not regret it.
The perfect retreat!
Our second time in this little gem. As also the hosts are most welcoming with their treats. If you want the tranquility of the countryside with nearby routes to all Cornish delights then look no further. Highly Recommend.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay. Efficient communication pre-stay and lovely personal welcome from Sue on arrival. Thoughtful and appreciated welcome pack of locally sourced products. Beautiful and peaceful setting and good base to explore Cornwall. Cottage was perfect with lovely views over the fields-very spacious lounge and kitchen and all had our own space, the three bedrooms benefitting from en-suite bath/ shower. Well thought out and many personal touches. Great outdoor space with seating areas and easy parking. Should we back in Cornwall would definitely stay in St. Ewe. Many thanks Sue for a lovely stay.
Excellent location, beautiful view!
Sue was a fantastic host to my parents, sisters and I at Glebe Cottage. The location was perfect for exploring the peninsula, the kitchen is well stocked and there was plenty of space for the 5 of us. The view out the back doors of cattle and clouds was a bonus!
Another great couple of weeks at Glebe Cottage
This was our 2nd visit to Glebe Cottage, and we loved it just as much as before. Everything you need, lots of space for a family of 5 and fabulous views - we very quickly settled into our comfortable home.
We were welcomed by Sue on arrival and once again enjoyed the very delicious lemon cake. Many thanks!!! Glebe cottage is a perfect base to explore Cornwall and we loved visiting the fantastic beaches, had another go at surfing and loved returning to Fowey and St Ives. Another great two weeks with fabulous memories. Cant wait to return.
St Ewe is a totally unspoilt, inland village midway between the larger fishing village of Mevagissey and the small beach side village of Gorran Haven. Famous for its associations with The Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Ewe is the place you will find the War Memorial with the names of Heligan's lost Gardeners.
St Ewe is 3 miles from the south Cornwall coast with an excellent choice of beaches from a well serviced local beach at Gorran Haven to the more remote beaches at Hemmick or Caerhayes, Carne or Pendower. Glebe Cottage is a 15 minute drive from The Eden Project and is very close to the beautiful and unspoilt villages of the Roseland Peninsula. The traditional fishing villages of Mevagissey, Fowey and St Mawes are all within easy reach of the cottage. Here you can while way an afternoon watching the fishing boats, browsing in the shops or trying your hand at a spot of crab fishing.
Glebe Cottage is close to the South West Coastal Path and there are plenty of choices of wonderful walks along the path passing through picturesque fishing villages and hidden beaches.
The central location of St Ewe means that there is easy access to the whole of Cornwall and many guests have travelled the County visiting Lands End and Tintagel in one stay. For those determined to relax there are plenty of easy ways to spend time close to St Ewe enjoying all Cornwall has to offer. The village also has a great, local pub, so you can enjoy an evening drink or meal without having to get in your car.
