About borgen.wayne@gmail.com

We love the Kutzke Neighborhood and older homes - this is our second home here. My wife worked at Mayo Clinic for 38 years and living this close eliminated the need to contend with parking as she could easily walk to work. I worked for Augsburg College in Rochester and could bike to work which I much enjoyed after years of commuting.

borgen.wayne@gmail.com purchased this house in 2005

Why borgen.wayne@gmail.com chose Rochester

We lived in various outlying neighborhoods in Rochester for many years - neighborhood home, acreage and a townhome. We always enjoyed Rochester but we always drove to get downtown and to work. In 2002 we moved to a house in Kutzke and enjoyed the people we met and the older homes. In 2005 we purchased our second home in Kutzke and still enjoy our time here.

What makes this house unique

The woodwork, floors, layout and vintage windows first drew us in. We loved having the master bedroom on the main floor, which is uncommon for 1920's homes. The proximity to bike trails, Mayo facilities and downtown sealed the deal.

Cozy, Comfortable and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

Our family came to Rochester for a family reunion. Two family units stayed in this home which proved very comfortable for all with privacy provided on various levels of the home. The main living area is beautifully decorated including a fireplace, up-to-date technology and a baby grand piano. This home is centrally located and within minutes of any location within the Rochester area. The owner, Wayne, was easy to work with in planning our trip and extremely hospitable upon arrival. Highly recommend this property!

Look no further --

Minneapolis Group, in the review below, gives an excellent description of this lovely home. One of us enjoyed the privacy of the upstairs suite, and my husband and I enjoyed the very comfortable bed in the first-floor master. There is room for many more -- and plenty of space for all to spread out. The furniture is comfortable and decor very pleasing. We loved the eclectic artwork. Mid-stay, we took a two day trip to Fargo, and borrowed several music CDs from their 100+ selection for the drive. So nice to have.

Don't waste your money on a hotel. This home away from home is perfect for families, groups and Clinic visitors. Wayne, the owner, is wonderful to work with and very responsive.

Beautiful, comfortable and inviting house

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this property a number of times when working in Rochester. Wayne could not be more accommodating and helpful! The house is tastefully decorated with leather couches, beautiful art and a fireplace, while being very comfortable. The second floor is like an small apartment with a sectional couch, television, eating table, bathroom, dressing room and double bed. Access to this space is by a rather steep set of stairs so would not be recommended for those who are not comfortable with steps. However for those who are- it is a beautiful retreat that has much privacy. SImilarly the basement has it's own couch and television and eating area and double bed. There is also room for a portable mattress in this space. The laundry is on this level. On the main floor is a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and 2 lovely bedrooms. We have stayed there in different seasons but when it is cold, there are separate heating units for the 2nd floor and the basement that warm the spaces very quickly. Six of us stayed there this time and the house's layout works for everyone to have their own space as well as common space. A wonderful stay again! We highly recommend it. Thank you, Wayne for being a great host.

Perfection in every way

  • 5 of 5

My two sisters and I just completed a second trip to Rochester, and a second 5-day stay at this cozy, comfortable, astonishingly well-equipped home. If I lived in Rochester, I would live here. We love this house, and Wayne, the owner, is the perfect host. He is responsive, accessible, and kind. This home is in the neighborhood we grew up in, an old part of Rochester full of character, charm, convenience, and old-time neighborhood feeling. Stay here! You will be so glad you did!

Wayne was awesome and so is this home.

Wayne, Thank you so much for sharing your home. We were there for over a month while my mom had a stem cell transplant.

Your home was clean and comfortable and the location is perfect with the clinic within 10 minutes. We enjoyed exploring the neighborhood and walking trails.

I highly recommend this property.

You will enjoy.
