Located in the heart of the Ocean Point Colony this three-bedroom summer cottage offers the experience of a true Maine vacation. Open studded walls and some antique furnishings add to the charm and character of this summer cottage. Pull up a rocking chair on the front porch and relax for a while. You can see the ocean just down the street. Enjoy morning walks and evening strolls along the Shore Road where you'll experience the rocky coast of Maine with sea life, light houses, crashing waves, and sea spray in the air. The Ocean Point community center is just around the corner where kids and adults can play tennis and enjoy daily planned activities and gatherings. Ocean Point is located nearby to Boothbay harbor, which offers fine dining, and harbor cruises, schooner trips, whale watching, and clam bakes. You'll want to return year after year. No Smoking, pets negotiable.
Have spent summer vacations here for over 50 years. Great meeting place for extended family. We come from Seattle,Wa and others from Tennessee and Georgia.
Bob and Janie Murray purchased this house in 1938
This house was purchased by our grandparents in 1938 and they enjoyed it for many years then passed down to our mother and now to us 3 boys and our families.
Walking a half a block to the ocean and being able to enjoy the sunsets and waves crashing on the rocks.
This cottage is very nice and clean....good view.....good place for walks....close to Ocean Point Restaurant....
It does have steep stairs going up to the top floor which has 2 bedrooms.
Not far from Boothbay Harbor ....
Stayed here for one week, the ocean is literally about 3 houses down. You can walk there in about 90 seconds. Lovely cottage, plenty of room, the "rocks" and shoreline at the end of the street are the definition of coastal Maine. plenty of places to explore around here. Will stay again!
This cottage provided a "warm and friendly" atmosphere in a welcoming community. Our stay at the Murray's gave us comfort and relaxation that will last for quite a while. We "lived" on the sunny porch for a good part of the morning each day, and found ourselves rocking in the chairs on and off during the day. Each room provided space enough for our needs, and the decor invited our grandchildren to ask about antiques and various pictures on the walls.
We'd recommend the Murray Cottage to families who enjoy exploring and ocean views. The flat rocks were enchanting, and the beach was a great experience for our son and his children. They enjoyed bike riding and playing in the park also.
Thank you for a truly "Maine" experience. The von Wahldes
We arrived on Saturday afternoon and found the cottage in clean and welcoming condition. It appeared to have everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. There was an unavoidable issue with the element in the hot water heater so the owners promptly had it repaired and reimbursed us for the two days for which we had no hot water. The owners were very responsive and helpful, and we had a very lovely vacation in the beautiful Ocean Point.
This place was a special treat. It is quite campish on the inside. There are tons of cool old dishware. The best part was the location. It has a view of the ocean from the porch in 2 directions. Also, there is a community center about 2 houses away. It's great for kids with an indoor area containing ping pong, air hockey and more. My family loved it there.
At the last moment, we were able to book in for a 3 night rental in this lovely vintage home in Ocean Point. While it is vintage, it does have modern conveniences and wifi! The owners were very open and easy to contact. This is one of the few homes of the era still existing in the Ocean Point community. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone! Even the neighbors are friendly! Tennis and plenty of scenic walks are nearby. What a lovely spot!
The Botanical gardens are a fun place to visit. Also a sailboat ride and or a trip to Cabbage Island. Squirrel Island is also a good excursion.
