The small garden very neatly formed, at the rear of the house lies an additional small deck for those all import quiet glasses of something. The outside space has been given a new lease of sitting space recently, a couple of sturdy decks for passing the time of day on.

The stunning bespoke town of Mahone Bay speaks for itself, there are a number of acceltic houses and buildings, Sheltering Blue Sky is just one of many. The warmth of the interior, the space and colourful artwork could keep you side for hours, remember it can rain in any part of the world.
We (group of four adults) had a wonderful stay in Mahone Bay on our first trip to Nova Scotia. The house is well appointed--very eclectic and updated. We walked to shops, grocery store, and restaurants. Everyone is friendly. I have no hesitation recommending this home for a short or long stay. I'd go back for sure.
Beautiful house and perfect location. Close to everything. House exceeded our expectations. Very nice and clean. Perfect for our group of 6. Would recommend it to anyone..
We loved staying at Sheltering Blue Sky last week. Gorgeous, spacious, stylish home will all required amenities. Just around the corner (literally) from Mahone Bay's restaurants, cafes, grocer, post office, bank, outdoor community swimming pool, waterfront, bandstand...and still on a very quiet little lane. Parking for two cars in the driveway very handy for visitors too.We loved it!
The location of this lovely retreat, steps away from restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops and pharmacies, is a big plus. The quality of linens, towels, squishy leather sofas etc was wonderful.
The house has no view to speak of,but one can seek out nearby beaches and ocean drives to compensate.
My family could not have been more pleased. Sheltering Blue Sky is a little gem.
I just returned from a stay at Sheltering Blue Sky with my husband and four kids, aged 11 to 2. We had a wonderful time.
The home was as lovely as the photos suggest. The owners have done a fantastic job restoring the property. The home was spacious and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The beds were comfortable, the linens high quality, the furniture also very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, including with pantry items.
Rob, the property manager, was very nice and helpful. He even managed to arrange babysitting for us for one night.
The home is well located in Mahone Bay - a 30 second walk to Main Street and to groceries, restaurants and the like. We enjoyed Jo-Anne's Deli a lot - they had great produce and their food was fantastic. The owners left a list of places they recommend and though we did not try all of them, those that we did try were very good. We walked everywhere in Mahone Bay but a car is needed to explore the South Shore more fully.
Mahone Bay was a great spot from which to explore the South Shore. We went to Peggy's Cove (lovely, not the overdone tourist trap we feared), Lunenburg, nearby beaches, and trips on the water, including to see the puffins and fish on Risky Business (out of Mahone Bay) and a sailing trip around Lunenburg harbour. So much to do! Mahone Bay itself is a beautiful little town, and has lots of restaurants and shops.
The owners were great to deal with, patiently answered our questions and were very helpful.
I would highly recommend staying at this home.
