|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
Mirror Lake Retreat is the perfect year-round destination to enjoy both a little solitude and easy access to activities and conveniences in the surrounding area. This well-appointed retrofitted barn-style home includes all of the modern amenities - wifi, Netflix, Sling TV and xbox gaming, but if you would rather disconnect from it all there is a wood stove in the very comfortable family room with a very sleepable pull-out Crate and Barrel couch. Luxury mattresses and bedding ensure a peaceful night's sleep.
The upstairs is a private master suite with its own balcony overlooking the mountains. The master bathroom includes a spacious two-head walk-in shower and imperial footed bathtub. The bunk bed room sleeps 6 comfortably.
Summer: The property has large fire-pit in the back near by a running creek for storytelling and s'mores. When it's lights out you are presented with a deep view of the starry sky and crisp mountain air, perfect for camping on-site or for the more adventurous, at one of the many campgrounds just minutes up the road. The on-property creek contains plenty of trout, but for those who want a sure thing the Fun Family Fishing Trout Farm is walking distance. They will provide rods and even clean the fish for you while you wait. The entertainment area includes a barbeque for grilling them up for a healthy meal, and the enclosed yard allows the kids to run around without having to worry about them wandering down to the river or the road unattended. There are plenty of summer activities in the area, including dozens of hiking and biking trails, canoeing, kayaking, boating and water skiing at the nearby Jordanelle reservoir. Head the other way and you're on the scenic drive to to Mirror Lake, but don't forget to stop at the waterfall!
Winter: This is snowmobiling and snowshoeing country, but several Ski resorts, including the Canyons, Park City and Deer Valley are less than 20 minutes away. The well plowed roads all winter ensure you are never snowed in. The place is just off the highway, ensuring year-round hassle-free accessibility.
Year-round: Run across the street to the Samak Smokehouse whenever you get a hankering for the best smoked Jerky and cheeses on the planet. (We've tried quite a few). This place also carries high-quality organics. Our personal favorites are the homemade caramels and pomegranate licorice. Jen and Dave will certainly take care of you and also have canoes and snowshoes for rent.
And that's not all, just up the street is The Notch Pub, serving up fish and chips and delicious home made burgers and staging live entertainment year-round.
Quaint Kamas Main street is only 10 minutes away, where you can find melt-in-your mouth pizzas, homeskillet breakfasts, and turn-it-upside-down malts.
After all that snacking, hit up the rec-center to swim a few laps, float the lazy river, zip around the water slide, play a round of racquetball or climb the rock wall.
If exercise isn't your idea of a vacation, how about shopping? Park City main street and the Outlets are just a short drive away...
These are some of the many reasons we love our Mirror Lake Retreat. We hope you do too.
We are an international family who has lived across the globe. We have had many people open their doors to us, and are excited to share our home with others.
Krista Stevens purchased this house in 2010
We are world travelers who bought the Mirror Lake Retreat as a place we can always go home to. After a lot of time searching through Tahoe and Park City, we finally found 'the one' We loved that it was so central to so many things, convenient yet remote enough to feel like we were truly getting away from it all.
The idea of a retrofitted barn wasn't what we had in mind for a cabin, but when we actually saw it inside and out, we fell in love with its unique quality, solid craftsmanship, and the firepit and stream! Our family reunions have been pretty fun the past couple of years. We understand that every group has a different idea of what a vacation should be. Actually, sometimes every person in a group has a different idea of what a vacation should be, and this place can cater to all of them.
Just wanted to drop a note to say we had an incredible time at the cabin.
Our stay was amazing. It snowed, the kids got to play in the snow, ski,
and snow board, and we all got to snowmobile. The cabin is beautiful. We
had plenty of room and it was clean and had all the amenities we needed.
My wife and I have already talked about returning next year
Our family had a lovely time in this beautiful home. Plenty of room for the whole family. All the basics were supplied plus a darling little Christmas tree. We were without hot water for almost 16 hours which forced us to cancel our breakfast plans because we could not shower in the morning. The owners were very responsive and remedied it right away but this is a reoccurring problem and it needs to be corrected so that future guests are not affected.
Could not be more pleased with our stay at the Kamas cabin property. We had an adult party of 10 stay for 2 nights and 3 days. When they let us know that everything would be included, they mean EVERYTHING. We had absolutely every imaginable item we could need (paper towels, dishes, sheets, laundry soap, extra pillows and blankets). The hosts were very kind and offered every chance to make our stay perfect. We loved every small detail of this perfectly remodeled cabin. The master bedroom is an entire suite upstairs and offered a perfect retreat. LOVED this place and plan on staying here annually. Highest of recommendations.
The place was perfect for my family. We were hosting a large group for a holiday dinner, and were able to cook and serve a huge meal for the entire group. Great sleeping accommodations,, beautiful area, awesome wood burning stove! No complaints!
The property is very warm and inviting, the owners very accommodating. Perfect for the 1-16 year old that where in our group. The home is excellently equipped with sleeping accommodations, linen, towels, toiletries. The kitchen and dinning areas above expectations. The yard and riverside bank fire-pit awesome! Lots of deer to watch in the early morning and evenings, stars galore on clear nights. Would love to stay again, lovey. On another note we went 24 hours without hot water, the water heater bummed out, a near by maintenance man was called in and was very attentive, pleasant and polite. The owners offered apology but that was the extent of their concern. It was very inconvenient, we had a photographer scheduled for family pictures and had to boil water to do just about everything, very time consuming and difficult with 7 children. If not for the water heater issue and minimal consern about it from owners it would have got 5 stars
Going here Fhe a girls weekend was great. There's was plenty of room for the 9 of us. in the house we couldn't get phone service but i thought that was just fine. The only thing that the girl's didn't like was there was a couple of last bug nests on the ceiling in the bedroom upstairs. Other Then that it was so nice to just be up out of the chaos of the city
Looking at options around Kamas and the Mirror lake Highway was limited, therefore finding a place that could host our party of 14 (6 Adults 8 Children) and be close to Kamas, Oakley & Jordanelle this Cabin hit the mark. The floor plan is very open and spacious with plenty of room in the dining and living room area. Great beds in the two main level bedrooms and the bunk room with trundles for the kids worked perfect. The Master on the upper level is huge, great bed with large master bath and again very open and spacious feel. The Cabin is finished inside very well and maintains a cabin feel while still offering a very new updated and modern look. One of the biggest hits for our group with several children was the backyard and firepit area. Nice fenced Grass area with a patio and then a great outdoor setting with the fire tucked in down by the creek. If there was one downside the cabin is right on the Highway and plenty of traffic over the weekend, the backyard makes it easy to avoid but with small kids that was our only concern.
Lastly I would like to state that the owners went above and beyond making sure we enjoyed our stay and had a great trip. We would stay here again and hope to spend a few more days in the area as there is plenty to do within a 10-15 minute drive in each direction.
Mirror Lake Retreat is located in a pristine mountain setting just minutes from the Uinta National Park yet convenient to Park City (15-20 min) skiing, shopping and pampering. It is an excellent year-round location for those who want to get out or just get away.
The renowned Samak Smokehouse is just across the street, providing easy access to excellent mountain treats. The Notch Pub is half a mile away, with delicious food, fun and live entertainment. Fishing is possible in the river on-property, but for a sure thing there is a hatchery less than half a mile away, who will provide a guaranteed catch for the kids. Dozens of hiking trails and snowmobile sites around the property provide endless options for outdoor recreation. The Jordanelle lake, 10 minutes away, is a popular destination for boating and water skiing. The scenic drive up Mirror Lake highway take you past waterfalls, rivers and of course, the scenic Mirror Lake itself.
In town there is a fully equipped recreation center offering daily passes with water slides, a climbing wall, racquetball and more. Local restaurants provide the best comfort food around.
