Utah House Rental Photos and Description

4 bed 3 bath, large master suite. Running creek in the back and mountain views

Mirror Lake Retreat is the perfect year-round destination to enjoy both a little solitude and easy access to activities and conveniences in the surrounding area. This well-appointed retrofitted barn-style home includes all of the modern amenities - wifi, Netflix, Sling TV and xbox gaming, but if you would rather disconnect from it all there is a wood stove in the very comfortable family room with a very sleepable pull-out Crate and Barrel couch. Luxury mattresses and bedding ensure a peaceful night's sleep.

The upstairs is a private master suite with its own balcony overlooking the mountains. The master bathroom includes a spacious two-head walk-in shower and imperial footed bathtub. The bunk bed room sleeps 6 comfortably.

Summer: The property has large fire-pit in the back near by a running creek for storytelling and s'mores. When it's lights out you are presented with a deep view of the starry sky and crisp mountain air, perfect for camping on-site or for the more adventurous, at one of the many campgrounds just minutes up the road. The on-property creek contains plenty of trout, but for those who want a sure thing the Fun Family Fishing Trout Farm is walking distance. They will provide rods and even clean the fish for you while you wait. The entertainment area includes a barbeque for grilling them up for a healthy meal, and the enclosed yard allows the kids to run around without having to worry about them wandering down to the river or the road unattended. There are plenty of summer activities in the area, including dozens of hiking and biking trails, canoeing, kayaking, boating and water skiing at the nearby Jordanelle reservoir. Head the other way and you're on the scenic drive to to Mirror Lake, but don't forget to stop at the waterfall!

Winter: This is snowmobiling and snowshoeing country, but several Ski resorts, including the Canyons, Park City and Deer Valley are less than 20 minutes away. The well plowed roads all winter ensure you are never snowed in. The place is just off the highway, ensuring year-round hassle-free accessibility.

Year-round: Run across the street to the Samak Smokehouse whenever you get a hankering for the best smoked Jerky and cheeses on the planet. (We've tried quite a few). This place also carries high-quality organics. Our personal favorites are the homemade caramels and pomegranate licorice. Jen and Dave will certainly take care of you and also have canoes and snowshoes for rent.

And that's not all, just up the street is The Notch Pub, serving up fish and chips and delicious home made burgers and staging live entertainment year-round.

Quaint Kamas Main street is only 10 minutes away, where you can find melt-in-your mouth pizzas, homeskillet breakfasts, and turn-it-upside-down malts.

After all that snacking, hit up the rec-center to swim a few laps, float the lazy river, zip around the water slide, play a round of racquetball or climb the rock wall.

If exercise isn't your idea of a vacation, how about shopping? Park City main street and the Outlets are just a short drive away...

These are some of the many reasons we love our Mirror Lake Retreat. We hope you do too.

About Krista Stevens

We are an international family who has lived across the globe. We have had many people open their doors to us, and are excited to share our home with others.

Krista Stevens purchased this house in 2010

Why Krista Stevens chose Utah

We are world travelers who bought the Mirror Lake Retreat as a place we can always go home to. After a lot of time searching through Tahoe and Park City, we finally found 'the one' We loved that it was so central to so many things, convenient yet remote enough to feel like we were truly getting away from it all.

What makes this house unique

The idea of a retrofitted barn wasn't what we had in mind for a cabin, but when we actually saw it inside and out, we fell in love with its unique quality, solid craftsmanship, and the firepit and stream! Our family reunions have been pretty fun the past couple of years. We understand that every group has a different idea of what a vacation should be. Actually, sometimes every person in a group has a different idea of what a vacation should be, and this place can cater to all of them.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Just wanted to drop a note to say we had an incredible time at the cabin.

Our stay was amazing. It snowed, the kids got to play in the snow, ski,

and snow board, and we all got to snowmobile. The cabin is beautiful. We

had plenty of room and it was clean and had all the amenities we needed.

Our Family had an awesome experience. Better than expected.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very peaceful. It was very well stocked. My son and family are moving to Kentucky and I wanted a fun family experience before they left. I feel like we had a great time together and it accommodated all ages from 1 year to 83 years. There was something for all. The property was clean and well maintained. Emails were responded to promptly. The only thing that didn't match the description is that I didn't see a printer. But that wasn't necessary and we would not have used it. I would recommend this to others. It was great that the yard is fenced and the fire pit is in a different area. This allowed for a fire without having to worry about little children by the fire unless they were by us. We started our day with fishing at the Trout farm nearby. We painted rocks and took up to The Fairy Forest. We also went to Deer creek and rented a wake board, wave runner and played with Kayaks. There was also plenty to do at the cabin. Thank you

Awesome Cabin!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time celebrating my husbands 50th birthday. The place was clean and very properly maintained. The cabin was beautiful it was decorated so nice the owner has fabulous taste . The kitchen was stocked with all the needed supplies for cooking meals together. The beds were all very comfortable. We took the kids up the road to the family fishing pond and the absolutely loved it! The Samak smoke house that was across the street had tasty treats of smoked cheese, Chai tea and jerky. We enjoyed the time around the fire pit in the back cooking some Dutch oven meals, cobblers and making s'mores with the beautiful mountain side and the sounds of the creek. I would definitely recommend staying there and would stay there again in the future.

Even better then it looks

  • 5 of 5

Top notch house. Fully remodeled, fully stocked. Great furnishings, wood stove, entertainment center, etc... Has everything you need ready to go except soap and shampoo. This is really a nice place to stay and i would recommend it to anyone. I've stayed at a bunch of VRBO's over the years and this house is one of the best.

The only thing that would make this better would be a hot tub for us snowmobilers after a long day of riding. .

Great rental in a lovely location

  • 5 of 5

This place was lovely. The fall color was gorgeous, the hiking just what we wanted, and the layout was great for our two families. We played board games, card games, had a fire and s'mores one night, and slept well every night.

After reading one of the reviews that said they didn't get their entry code on time, I was stressed when our's was late. I sent a few emails (they never gave me any #s), and we got it just before we got there (they had promised it the morning of). So, our stay was fabulous, but you should be sure you get that entry code!

Also, as part of the rental, they required me to either pay a $3000 security deposit or buy that much rental insurance, which I've never had to do before. They said they were small children friendly (and the house was set up well for them), but I ended up being stressed about the furniture, etc, even though we are normally the type to leave a place better than we found it. I'm sure they have good reasons for doing that (not all renters are conscientious), but it did add a small measure of stress for me.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the positive review K.K. Regarding the code we apologize it was not provided the morning of though we did respond to your request immediately upon receiving it, along with a phone number which is typically provided in the initial response, ahead of your arrival. Based on your feedback we will begin sending the code a day in advance to avoid any unnecessary stress. In terms of the insurance coverage, we pride ourselves in providing quality furnishings and several antiques and while most of our guest have left things in excellent condition we have had multiple instances of extensive damage over the years. As a result, we have begun to require the $79 insurance and lowered our rate accordingly so it would not affect the overall price for the stay. Thank you once again and we look forward to seeing you next time.

Red Barn stay

  • 5 of 5

Place was clean and large enough for two families to spread out. The kitchen had all the equipment that four cooks would need. It was nicely decorated and the X-box was a hit with the boys. The adults even had fun one night with karaoke. Would recommend to friends. Just wished it was on the other side of Park City so that our drive to Alta and Solitude would be a little shorter.

Great family gathering spot

  • 4 of 5

Our extended family enjoyed our stay at this home. Everything was clean and as noted in the listing. There were games to play and puzzles to do. We caught lots of trout in the stream and had a great time hiking around the area. The only reason I took off a star was the location on a busy road. The backyard was fenced but there were so many cars traveling right in front of the house, it made me nervous with so many little kids around. Other than that, it was fantastic.

The renowned Samak Smokehouse is just across the street, providing easy access to excellent mountain treats. The Notch Pub is half a mile away, with delicious food, fun and live entertainment.
