Like renting a friends house in Steamboat

  • 5 of 5

We have rented about 20 different places all of the world on VRBO.

This is a terrific house in the town of Steamboat. It is in a residential neighborhood, so it is literally like renting a friends house in Steamboat.

The house is very nice, clean and well stocked. Any small issue we had-like no lime squeezer for our margaritas, we would mention to Jane when she would check in and BOOM she is at the door with a lime squeezer and glasses. The care she took of her home and us was fantastic.

We were there to ski, two families, 4 kids...Lots of room to spread out.

You have to drive to the mountain-take about 7-10 min max and park. But the Steamboat parking situation is very easy to navigate and if you are at the mountain before 9am parking is free. There is a small local sledding hill close by and when we were there the snow was epic! The kids loved going in the hot tub and brining snow balls with them

Girls weekend retreat

  • 5 of 5

A bunch of girlfriends (10) coming together for one weekend needed the perfect place to reunite, relax, cook, enjoy each other's company, and (oh yeah ;) sleep. We found all of that (and more) in this beautiful Steamboat home. It was plenty big for all of us - everyone had a comfortable bed to sleep in. It was well equip with all of the kitchen and bathroom supplies that we needed. It was perfectly located between downtown and the Strawberry Park hot springs. Also, the owner was very accommodating and always responsive. We really couldn't have asked for anything more. Thanks, Jane, for sharing your wonderful home with us!

Great House, Great Location...and Jane is great to work with!

  • 5 of 5

Everyone agreed that the house was even better and bigger than it was in photos. The house was stocked with everything we could need, including brochures about what to do in Steamboat. The neighbors were friendly too! Jane was very easy to work with and very accommodating. We had 7 girls and more than enough room. The bunk bed room downstairs would be wonderful for a large family and/or cousins. Great place!

I can't say enough about this weekend getaway. From the moment I inquired to the moment I left this was the most wonderful weekend. Easy to rent, house is perfect for a large family gathering (Wedding). Plenty of room, and stocked graciously with things you just may have forgotten. Close to town, but tucked away with a lovely view!

Perfect in everyway

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect, plenty of rooms and bathrooms. There were 5 of us total, all friends but in need of secluded space. We all came and went at different times, never bothering each other. I had to leave by 5am some mornings and I found it super easy to do what I needed without disrupting the others. We came to Steamboat for the National Cattledog finals and Jane was gracious enough to allow us to bring 5 dogs to her property (one of which stayed in the house). She asked that they stay quiet due to the neighbors, I told her for the most part they stay in their boxes but we needed room for them to stretch some. The back yard was perfect! The neighbors, when they found out what we were there for they were all so very friendly to us and to our dogs! If ever back in the area I will definately be staying here again! Thanks Jane for an awesome stay, we were worry free and it allowed us to enjoy our week home away from home.

This was perfect for our vacation with kids ages 2-18!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect location for us in Steamboat, as we always vacation there during the summer, when their isn't much going on in ski-town. We brought highschool age, middle school, elementary school, and a toddler, and all of the kids loved the house. With the pool table, foosball, bigscreen TV, and fenced yard, we were able to leave the kids at home one night, and go out for a nice adult dinner, without feeling like the kids would be "bored" - which always leads to trouble! The fact that our dog was also welcome, with a fenced backyard, was definitely an added bonus. The older kids rented bikes at one of the shops right down the hill, and were able to find their way around town and back home with no problems. The hot tub in the backyard was another added bonus - I come to town for the springs, but when I'm at home, I hate the idea of a "shared" hottub in the ski areas (even if noone else is ever using it) - the private hot tub was a great place to relax after all the kids were in bed, with a great view of the night sky beyond the deck.

The set up of the house was wonderful - we had enough bedroom space for everyone, plenty of hanging out space, and plenty of room for everyone to eat together. Finding dishes, towels, etc, was not a problem at all. The house was very well taken care of, and the pictures in the listing are very accurate - the home has a very "cozy" feel to it, while still leaving enough space for noone to feel cramped.

The owner/manager was very prompt in answering all of our questions. I would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay with kids if you are looking to stay in the downtown area. We loved hiking by the falls, the Alpine Slide, the OldTown HotSprings, rafting the downtown stretch of the Yampa, visiting the Ice Arena for Bumper cars on Ice, and then just spending some time wandering downtown. Except for our initial stop at Safeway on the way in...we were never more than 10 minutes away from the house - you can't ask for more when you're on a vacation with kids!
