About Larry Pozil
We live in Park City, UT and are avid skiers and snowshoers. Kim is a internal medicine physician, practicing in PC and Larry is a retired dentist. We originally lived in Phx., AZ and moved to UT in 1998. For years we have had family and friends stay with us during our winter week. Unfortunately, this year we have a commitment that doesn't allow us to ski the 'Bird' this week.
Larry Pozil purchased this Condo in 2000
Why Larry Pozil chose Snowbird
We've skied a lot of Europe and the US West. Without a doubt our favorite mountain to ski is the 'Bird' as long as we can stay at the Cliff Club. Along with great skiing, Cliff Club guests have free access to the Spa and pool.
What makes this Condo unique
We were staying at the Cliff Lodge in the 80's & 90's for skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer before we became owners of a Cliff Club unit in the winter. It's close proximity to a major airport hub allowed us to come frequently with our family.

great location and nice property
The condo has two nice bedrooms separated by a kitchen / dining room between them. This center unit has a pullout couch which can be used of course, but I it's not ideal as that room is a common area.
Downstairs are ski lockers for each unit (so 3 lockers if you rent both bedrooms and the center kitchen) all with boot heaters. There are ski shops and ski rentals right next to the lockers.
From there it's straight to the small chickadee green run that takes you straight to the tram, Peruvian lifts, and snowbird center. To come back at the end of the day, there's the Chickadee lift which loads downhill from the other lifts (a good thing) and unloads right above the hotel and the ski lockers. No hiking required and it's on top of the primary lifts. I've been to other resorts with ski-on/ski-off hotels that required hiking across parking lots, up hills, across streets, or required multiple lifts to reach the interesting slopes. Not here. Cliff Club couldn't be more convenient.
The one consideration is that for green / easy blue terrain, you need to make your way to mid-gad, gadzoom, and baby thunder lifts. There's a trail from behind the snow center to these lifts, but it does require a 2-3 minute mild uphill hike. At keystone, my ski-on/ski-off hotel had a longer hike than this.
The hotel has a tex/mex restaurant downstairs, a spot for breakfast and lunch, and a lovely restaurant on the top floor.
The snowbird center which is at the bottom of the chickadee run, has a few restaurants, a pharmacy, a small grocery, and child ski school.
Ski school for my 7yo was excellent. A very personal touch. No mad crowds. Same instructor every day. A nice summary at the end of the day. Much much better than my experience at Park City and Keystone. About the same as Snowbasin. I was pleased that the green/blue areas (on the right side of the trail map) were enough to keep her very happy. From the top there are a small number of easier trails to let her make her way down as well.
The terrain at Snowbird is of course amazing. One of my favorite mountains. Amazing terrain -- especially if you explore a bit. Dive through a clump of trees or one of the many gates, and you are sure to find a untracked or lightly tracked run with nice soft moguls. If you are looking for groomed terrain and/or greens than snowbird might not be a good fit.
It would be nice of the bird had a village and more dining.
Thanks Michael for the positive review of your ski trip to Snowbird at the Cliff Lodge (Cliff Club). I know you had some great snow during the week. Hope you can return! Larry
Snowbird has the best snow in Utah. Alta is minutes away and you can buy a pass that allows skiing at both areas with connecting lifts. There is also frequent bus service between the 2 resorts. If you want more adventure there's heli-sking, night skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling tours, and interconnect tours to some of the other canyons. The Cliff Club Condos are in the Cliff Lodge which is the premier lodge in Snowbird. It has an elegant spa which is yours to use when you stay in a Cliff Club Condo
