Casual cottage/beach bungalow style with Hawaiian and oceanic decorative touches throughout. Sitting well above the rest, this home offers panoramic views from nearly every room. Relax on the expansive 700 sq ft deck as the tradewinds roll off of the ocean to keep you cool outside.

World famous Lanikai Beach is about a 300 meter/5 minute walk, just over a city block away with easy public access.

Come hideaway in a quiet & cozy neighborhood that boasts jogging, biking, hiking and fun in the sun....private feeling, conveniently close to the beach, but just a bit set back to give quiet and privacy on days when it is busier on the beachfront.

Caretaker lives nearby for responsive service. Neighborhood is quiet and residential, so a premium is placed on mellow, respectful and neighborly guests. House is a main floor and upper level -- separate downstairs 2 BR/2 BA apartment unit is empty, but may be available to add to this reservation for additional cost. Would sleep 4 additional. Inquire.

Property not appropriate for parties, reunions, large family gatherings, receptions, wedding gatherings, etc. due to limited parking (2 spots) and noise concerns. Property has strict 8 person guest limit, generally 6 adults is the comfortable maximum with youngsters on the fold out sofabed.

Wonderful home

We had a fabulous time staying in the property. We came with our four adult children. House was very clean and welcoming. The view from the lanai is spectacular and we spent many mornings and evenings taking it all in. Beach access is very close. We highly recommend this home for any family like ours.

Really enjoyable stay!

Our family of four had a great time staying here. The house has a nice beach cottage feel with incredible views and a killer deck. We loved hiking Pill Box trail, walking to the beach (thanks for the beach chairs!), surfing and stand up paddle boarding at Kailua (there’s a place to rent bikes and boards not far from the house). Fave restaurants in town were Kono’s, Uahi, Buzz’s, and Hibachi - epic poke. Heads up that the living area is on the top floor, so if the lanai is wet from rain the kitchen and dining rooms become the common area. Thanks for a great stay!

What a wonderful and relaxing property!

My family and I completely enjoyed this property. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Also, you cannot beat the oceanview from the deck! I wanted to sleep in on vacation, but I woke myself up to watch the sunrise from that deck - just because it's that beautiful. Also, we enjoyed using the gas grill and having bbqs on the deck. We all loved the fact that we could walk 5 minutes down the hill to Lanikai beach. It seemed like a hassle to find street parking near that beautiful beach. The house itself had every amenity that we needed for one week. If you leave the windows open, the breeze feels so nice throughout the house. Also, it was so nice to have beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, rafts, and boogie boards at the house. It was also convienent to have an outdoor shower head to rinse sand off before coming inside the house. Terri, the house manager, was so nice and accommodating. She really made sure that we were all comfortable during the week. I will definitely stay at this property again! Worth every penny!

Absolutely amazing!

I has lived in Kailua for many years so it was a dream to be able to come back and spend 10 days on a perch overlooking the Mokes and the turquoise blue waters of Lanikai.

Mermaid Hideaway is a perfect spot, less than a 5 minute walk to the beach but a world away from the hussle and bustle of the loop.

Our hosts Harry and Barbara were extremely accommodating and caretaker Terri was phenomenal, bending over backwards to make our stay as amazing as the view!

The place has everything you need to feel at home. We absolutely loved everything about our stay. This is a MUST!
