About Wine Country Properties

She had the Wine Country Farmhouse…he had the Walter Link House, and this is how Anita Borgaes and Larry Stevens met. Well, actually it was at the UFO Festival, but that’s another story. The result was another Vacation Rental, and now another one along the way. Both are natives who grew up with the wine industry; Anita picked grapes during harvest on one of the first vineyards in Dundee, Larry was raised on a farm in what is now the McMinnville AVA. Like Salmon, they returned after exploring the world to pursue their passion in their hometown: preserving historic properties and sharing Oregon Wine Country with the world. By joining forces—with Anita’s background in real estate and Larry’s background in construction—they have created a solid team in the growing family of Wine Country Properties.

Wine Country Properties purchased this farmhouse in 2012

Why Wine Country Properties chose Willamette Valley Oregon

Wine Country Farmhouse located at 930 NE 2nd St. is Anita’s first VRBO. It was chosen for its excellent location (one block off 3rd St.) and turn of the century charm. We believe that if you are going to wine, dine and enjoy the downtown festivals, you should never have to drive. Those are the two things all of our locations have in common, character and walkability. We know you will love this house as much as we do.

We very much enjoyed staying at your rental, and the owners were very helpful to us in setting up this rental from outside the United States. It was so nice to arrive to beds that were already made up, to such a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and to a property that was immaculately clean. We were lucky enough to have very good weather, so we were able, in addition, to enjoy the garden and the garden furniture. Being downtown in McMinnville was a bonus. We liked being able to walk to the many restaurants, and shops.

We would certainly return to the property were the occasion ever to arise, and we would certainly recommend it to friends.

We really enjoyed our stay for the New Year weekend. The house was perfect for our needs and had everything you could ask for. Such a charming place. Definitely would stay there again. We walked everwhere we went. So close to downtown McMinville.

Great location to explore downtown McMinnville on foot; clean and well kept up

  • 5 of 5

This house is a few blocks from the main downtown area. We easily walked to shops, restaurants, and wine tasting rooms. The house was built in 1910 and has the layout and charm of that period. The kitchen appliances worked well, the beds were comfortable. It was clean and the kitchen was well appointed with pans, dishes, etc. We were a group of four women on a weekend outing. Ideal for us. The owner was attentive and responsive when we called with questions.

Large remodeled older home very near downtown

  • 5 of 5

We found everything to be as listed. The house was clean and well appointed. It is 4 blocks from the main downtown area, and in spite of lots of snow and very cold temps., we were able to walk to places for nice dinners each night we wanted to. It is on a main street with lots of trucks and ambulances, etc so it not a quite location. They have a large bathtub, which was nice especially with the uncharacteristic super cold weather! The bed was comfortable and kitchen had the basics. The internet worked, but we had to reset often. Our cell phones (At And T) worked well.

Home Away from Home

  • 5 of 5

We spent the week of Christmas at the Wine Country Farmhouse and it was perfect for our needs. We invited our extended family in for dinner one evening, finding plenty of room for eight at the large round table. The kitchen, although cozy and warm, is beautifully outfitted, containing everything I needed for cooking and baking. Three bedrooms allowed us to have the grandchildren spend the night. We had a slight problem with the DVD player, and Anita responded immediately, coming over on Christmas Eve day, fixing it for us while we shopped. We return to McMinnville often and will stay in this comfortable home as often as it is available.

Lovely clean & comfy room home in central location! :)

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Anita's home. The house is clean and comfortable with large kitchen and living areas and three bedrooms: main bedroom with ensuite and second bedroom upstairs; third bedroom and main bathroom downstairs. It had everything we needed for our three night stay, including unexpected large spice rack and quality natural bathroom toiletries. Anita gave us great recommendations for dining and wine tasting. La Rambla restaurant on nearby (10 mins walk) 3rd street was so good we ate there twice! Anita was quick to respond to all our requests: e.g. for a local taxi to take us for a delicious wild mushroom meal at Joel Palmer House in Dayton. We'd definitely stay here again. I highly recommend this lovely home. Just one thing to note: this home is central so, if you sleep with your windows open as we do, you can hear noisy vehicles go by early in the mornings. We didn't mind as we were up early to explore nature and taste delicious wines ;)

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at our Wine Country Farmhouse. It is truly an excellent location for walking distance to all the great restaurants and local tasting rooms. I'm glad that you tried out our local taxi service. Although we are in a small town, our cab service is very responsive and can usually be at your front door within 10 to 15 minutes. I hope to see you again. Cheers!

The McMinnville Granary District is located on the east end of downtown (8th & Alpine). Home to 10 wineries, breweries, tasting rooms, restaurants, day spa & salon, coffee roaster, shopping & more. This is a casual place where you can bring your dog, eat indoors/outdoors and be entertained by music and events throughout the year.

If you are into exploring McMinnville, this is a MUST DO to put on your list. The old timber barn with open beams and rustic wood work has been converted into a micro brew pub. The menu features wood fire pizzas, tasty burgers and fresh salads that pair well with their craft beers and local wine selection.

If you are into a little music, check out their Brews & Bluegrass open jam session Tues. nights 6pm.

If you are a UFO attendee, the UFO parade on Sat. May 14, 2016 ends at the Granery District. The place is hopping with people all dressed up in their UFO garb.

If you are an Oregon Brews & BBQ supporter (local fundraiser for St. Joseph), the Granery District hosts the event every year - Sept. 9th-11th, 2016. Over 35 regional brewers, music and lots of BBQ.
