This house is really nice. The owners have supplied so much of what you need like snorkeling gear, sand toys, coolers, boogie boards. Very comfortable and clean. Great views and a lovely porch to enjoy them from. Highly recommended. As others have mentioned, you may have a bit of road noise, but if that weren't the case, this house would likely be $400 a night rather than the affordable price that it is. It really never bothered us. So close to great beaches too.
This home is in a great location. We wanted to be located on the sunny side of the island and be close to activities as well. North Kahola was our special place, we really loved our trip North to Hawi, we could have easily stayed another afternoon there. The house had everything we needed, we usually cook but we set aside days to explore the local eateries as well. We enjoyed having the room(s) air conditioning, we did not expect that we would need it but we enjoyed it in the late pm. My husband used the outdoor shower every evening! We appreciated our host being available and the care he has given this home, thank you for making our visit so special! Kathy & Bob
We loved this rental. We've been to the Kohala coast for the last five years, and this year we brought our daughter and her husband. The house is in a great location, overlooking my favorite beaches. There is some noise from the road below, but it never interfered with our sleep, as the bedrooms don't face on it. It was perfect for a family (I don't think the space would work as well for two couples who weren't family). The kitchen was very well stocked and had good pots and pans. Most of all, we enjoyed the homey feel of the place in a friendly little neighborhood.
My family really loved the place, the house was fully stocked with everything from kitchen needs to bathroom needs, even had everything you will need for the beach, from beach chairs, snorkeling gear and even a cooler, the cottage is beautiful and so is the yard, love the outside showers, my family can't wait till next year's trip, hopefully the place will be available because we would love to stay there again.
We stayed her with our son during Thanksgiving week. We were pleasantly surprised by this vacation rental though I'm not sure why. I suppose it was because everything you see in the pictures is as advertised. There was a great dining area off the back with a napping bed, wonderful views, gorgeous outside shower and more! If you need an ice chest, boogie board or snorkel gear it's all their for your free use. It's decorated classy and the duplex is clean. You're also close to all the beaches and close to Waimea.
Only drawback: there is a neighbor next door that does have a dog that barks. Other than that, it was perfect.
For our second trip to the Big Island, we wanted to stay on the Kohala Coast but not at one of the resorts. We thought our options would be limited and that we would have to sacrifice quality of accommodations. We were wrong. This cottage was ideal for our family. There was yard space overlooking the coast with a bbq grill. There was an outdoor shower to wash away the sand. There was laundry, ample bedroom space, cozy lanai, easy parking space, and close proximity to wonderful beaches. There were also beach toys, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, towels, and wifi! In short, we had everything we needed and more. Also, when we arrived the property was in immaculate shape. I do not have enough good things to say.
Minutes from some of the big islands best beaches, surf spots, snorkeling, fishing grounds, Resorts, golf courses, and one of the most significant historical sites in Hawaii (Pu'ukohola Heiau National Historic Site). Overlooking the route of the world famous Ironman Triathlon.
