About Dotty Sonnemaker
This cabin was built by my grandparents shortly after Greers Ferry Lake was created in the 1960's. It has always been in our family and hosted countless holidays and family gatherings. We purchased the property in 2006 and began renovations for the next generation to enjoy. Many memories of family, friends and laughter live within the walls. We hope to share our home with others so that more memories will continue.
Dotty Sonnemaker purchased this House in 2006
Why Dotty Sonnemaker chose Heber Springs
Greers Ferry is a beautiful lake and peaceful setting. There are unlimited recreational opportunities for families and fishermen. The lake is clean and scenic with boating and fishing options galore.
What makes this House unique
Only a few lucky people can sit on their back porch and watch the sun set on beautiful Greers Ferry Lake. It is a spectacular place to play and rejuvenate.

We love this home. Location, roomy, easy walk to lake, big kitchen, two refrigerators, and good beds are a bonus.
We love to hear about your visit. There’s nothing quite like that view from the porch! Please come again...try fall and spring. It’s so peaceful and lovely. Thank you!
Perfect place to relax in comfort!
My husband, kids and grandkids spent a wonderful week here. House has EVERYTHING you need! The bedrooms are soundproof! Our one year old grandson was able to nap in peace! With grocery stores within minutes we were able to relax and settle in quickly! There were 12 of us and we had plenty of room! The big kids enjoyed the attic teen hangout! The lake is crystal clear! I cannot say enough great things about Dotty and Sindi ! We will be back! Don't miss the cute little shops in the downtown area! Especially Jitterbug Coffee !
This warms my heart!! Wonderful guests as well ! Understanding even when we had an air conditioner scare! All turned out well. Please come back again. The lakehouse is cozy any season!
Loved the place.
Thank you! So glad your group enjoyed the lakehouse!
Excellent lake house
The property is perfectly situated. Right on the lake in a great swim cove and less then 5 mins from downtown and Walmart. We enjoyed swimming off the dock and chilling in the backyard.
The house is nice with updated bathrooms and kitchen. There’s even an air conditioned room in the attic for the kids to play in! All in all an excellent location for our family vacation...
Great Family Get Away!
We enjoyed being just a few steps away from the lake. It was a quiet lake for swimming & fishing. It was a great house for us and the other family we shared with it. Most importantly, the hostess was very organized & attentive to our needs. We will definitely consider coming back.
Surprising Gem - on the Lake and in Town
My family and I recently spent a week using this wonderful property. The pictures provided on the website do not fully reflect the beauty of the views looking out the picture window. As you step into the remodeled kitchen, the first view is the wide open space of the kitchen, and then the wide open space of the living area, followed by the realization that the picture window opens up to the dock, lake, and beautiful sunsets. We had 14 guests and each person was able to move around without feeling crowded. The large sofa seats 6-8 adults, with two additional recliners in the corner. While the area felt secluded, grocery shopping was less than 1/2 mile away. For a summer get away to the lake, this is a great location. Both bathrooms are located off the single hallway - so there are no issues with a master bathroom setup.
This place was an instant hit for every member of our family... except the pets we left at home.
Greers Ferry Lake and Little Red River Recreation areas. Easy drive to Ozark Mountain Folk Center and Buffalo River canoeing. Also near Fairfield Bay.
