Riverside Retreat was built in 2005 and was our residence until 2012. We are making it available for others to enjoy. It sits on a bluff directly on the Mountain Fork River which is a very quiet river with beautiful rock formations on the property. We now live back in Mena to be closer to family.
Tim Rodgers purchased this cabin in 2005
It is such a peaceful, relaxing place to be. You'll feel it as soon as you turn off the highway and begin the path down the tree-lined county road. At the top of our driveway, there is a view of Rich Mountain. On a clear night, you can see the lights of the lodge. At the bottom of the driveway awaits your peaceful getaway - surrounded by trees and overlooking a gorgeous section of the Mountain Fork River. On the back deck, you are among the treetops that rise from the bluff. The cabin was built to provide amenities for a romantic couples getaway or honeymoon but will sleep a family of four.
Imaculate & clean cabin new to the rental market in 2012, located on a bluff directly overlooking the Mountain Fork River. Beautiful view from 12’ x 32’ deck on back of cabin plus a lower deck by river with built-in bench. All wood interior trimmed in cedar w/tile & laminate flooring - no carpet. Access to river for canoeing or fishing. We have a canoe, paddles, & life jackets available for use at no additional charge.
Two-person jacuzzi tub.
Two-sided fireplace (opens to living area and bedroom).
We cannot thank you enough for allowing us to enjoy your cabin. We leave here relaxed and well rested. :)
I've stayed here twice, once with my friend for a getaway, then once with my two sons. I'm going back as soon as I can.
Every detail is attended to perfectly, the kitchen is stocked with great cookware and utensils, the water is hot and the shower and jacuzzi tub are both so relaxing, the grill, the screened in deck, the comfy furniture, the TV, everything. Best of all is the river! It's an oasis in the lush woods of Arkansas... I could spend all day playing in that cool clear water. And my boys caught 5 fish!
Tim, thank you for everything. I can't wait to go back.
The property is fantastic as all of the other guests have described, but Tim made it that much better letting us reschedule (at no cost) as our original trip was cancelled due to a spring monsoon. We will be back in the Fall! Thanks again Tim!
My kids and I truly enjoyed out vacation here this year. The cabin was clean and well-stocked with towels and games. We enjoyed being able to make a fire outside in the fire pit and swimming in the river. Definitely would stay here again.
Nice quiet cabin with easy access to the river. I enjoyed fishing from the canoe and caught several small largemouth bass. I found the drive to the cabin a little confusing but the seclusion was worth it. The owner was friendly and easy to deal with. We hope to return.
Everything yout could ask for... peace and quiet, clean with all the amenities. If your looking for secluded place to relax, this is it! A great place away from all the hustle and bustle and still have everything you need. My wife and two sons didn't want to leave. Thanks for letting us stay at your beautiful place!
By far the best part of the cabin, according to my 10 and 12 yr old boys, was the loft. There are two single beds up there and my youngest enjoyed laying on one of the beds while watching TV down in the living room. We brought a small fan with us which helped, it was just a little warm up there but my boys did not seem to mind.
The master bedroom was really nice but my wife and I enjoyed the screened porch the most. Its fairly large and has two rockers as well as a table and four chairs. We ate breakfast and dinner out there several times as well as played board games with our boys.
We really enjoyed canoeing on the river. We brought an additional 2 person kayak so all four of us were able to enjoy the river all together. The canoe that is there is fairly easy to bring down to the river using the dolly. Once we got the hang of it we brought it back and forth with no problem. One adult can easily take it down and bringing it up is a little easier with a second person.
If you enjoy piece and quite as well as spending time on a river this is the perfect place to visit. My boys have already asked to go back again.
