Riverside Retreat was built in 2005 and was our residence until 2012. We are making it available for others to enjoy. It sits on a bluff directly on the Mountain Fork River which is a very quiet river with beautiful rock formations on the property. We now live back in Mena to be closer to family.
Tim Rodgers purchased this cabin in 2005
It is such a peaceful, relaxing place to be. You'll feel it as soon as you turn off the highway and begin the path down the tree-lined county road. At the top of our driveway, there is a view of Rich Mountain. On a clear night, you can see the lights of the lodge. At the bottom of the driveway awaits your peaceful getaway - surrounded by trees and overlooking a gorgeous section of the Mountain Fork River. On the back deck, you are among the treetops that rise from the bluff. The cabin was built to provide amenities for a romantic couples getaway or honeymoon but will sleep a family of four.
Imaculate & clean cabin new to the rental market in 2012, located on a bluff directly overlooking the Mountain Fork River. Beautiful view from 12’ x 32’ deck on back of cabin plus a lower deck by river with built-in bench. All wood interior trimmed in cedar w/tile & laminate flooring - no carpet. Access to river for canoeing or fishing. We have a canoe, paddles, & life jackets available for use at no additional charge.
Two-person jacuzzi tub.
Two-sided fireplace (opens to living area and bedroom).
We cannot thank you enough for allowing us to enjoy your cabin. We leave here relaxed and well rested. :)
We were extremely impressed with the cabin and location. Everything that we saw in the photos and the description was spot on. There were no surprises. The cabin was very very very neat, clean, and well organized. You can tell that the owners are very thoughtful and they are extremely responsive to any questions you have. There is just enough "un-plug"ness about the cabin, but still all of the amenities to keep you very comfortable. It was easy to bring the canoe to the river (we are semi novices) and return it. The scenery is beautiful and the environment very calm, private, and quiet. We understood why 4x4 is recommended, but still it was not a concern as the roads are just back country roads and actually enjoyable when wanting to take a walk. The screened in porch set up is super nice. We were sad that we had to leave because it is such a wonderful place to stay!! S&J Connecticut Late August 2016
We needed to get away for peace and quiet. We found it here. The river was tranquil. Enjoyed a short canoe trip and had a good time fishing. The cabin is perfect for a couple. Found it very clean and orderly. It was easy to relax, watch tv or read a book in the screened in porch. We only stayed a weekend and wished we would have planned for a longer trip instead. You have a lovely place.
Great cabin, well stocked and nicely secluded from the outside. My family and I enjoyed it very much, nice fishing by the river for the kids. Next time we have to try the canoe!
I've stayed here twice, once with my friend for a getaway, then once with my two sons. I'm going back as soon as I can.
Every detail is attended to perfectly, the kitchen is stocked with great cookware and utensils, the water is hot and the shower and jacuzzi tub are both so relaxing, the grill, the screened in deck, the comfy furniture, the TV, everything. Best of all is the river! It's an oasis in the lush woods of Arkansas... I could spend all day playing in that cool clear water. And my boys caught 5 fish!
Tim, thank you for everything. I can't wait to go back.
The property is fantastic as all of the other guests have described, but Tim made it that much better letting us reschedule (at no cost) as our original trip was cancelled due to a spring monsoon. We will be back in the Fall! Thanks again Tim!
My kids and I truly enjoyed out vacation here this year. The cabin was clean and well-stocked with towels and games. We enjoyed being able to make a fire outside in the fire pit and swimming in the river. Definitely would stay here again.
