Riverside Retreat was built in 2005 and was our residence until 2012. We are making it available for others to enjoy. It sits on a bluff directly on the Mountain Fork River which is a very quiet river with beautiful rock formations on the property. We now live back in Mena to be closer to family.

It is such a peaceful, relaxing place to be. You'll feel it as soon as you turn off the highway and begin the path down the tree-lined county road. At the top of our driveway, there is a view of Rich Mountain. On a clear night, you can see the lights of the lodge. At the bottom of the driveway awaits your peaceful getaway - surrounded by trees and overlooking a gorgeous section of the Mountain Fork River. On the back deck, you are among the treetops that rise from the bluff. The cabin was built to provide amenities for a romantic couples getaway or honeymoon but will sleep a family of four.
Imaculate & clean cabin new to the rental market in 2012, located on a bluff directly overlooking the Mountain Fork River. Beautiful view from 12’ x 32’ deck on back of cabin plus a lower deck by river with built-in bench. All wood interior trimmed in cedar w/tile & laminate flooring - no carpet. Access to river for canoeing or fishing. We have a canoe, paddles, & life jackets available for use at no additional charge.
Two-person jacuzzi tub.
Two-sided fireplace (opens to living area and bedroom).
We cannot thank you enough for allowing us to enjoy your cabin. We leave here relaxed and well rested. :)
I rented this cabin for my parents for my dad's 60th birthday, and it did not disappoint!! They loved it and couldn't stop talking about how nice it was (and my mother is super picking about cleanliness!!). The owners couldn't have been friendlier, and now my husband and I are looking to see when we can get away here!! Thank you so much for such a great experience for my dad's birthday!!!
The cabin was immaculate and stocked with everything a person could need on an outdoor trip. The owners are quick to respond with any question (or issues!) I had no issues with the cabin stay, just a little incident happened in the river -- my advice would be not to go SW on the river bend, for there may be extreme rapids after a day's worth of rain! Going upstream was perfect, however! My boyfriend and I want to return and experience this cabin in every season. Waking up to the sounds of ducks & geese on the river, watching the sun sparkle on the water, sitting up at night with the fire pit and grilling hot dogs for dinner made this place unique and grand. Every inch of the cabin is clean, there is new bedding (extra blankets for the cold nights, too.) I had no idea what to expect when driving up the dirt trail to get here, but when you come over the final hill and are greeted by the cabin you already know you're going to love the stay. Be advised -- if you love fishing you will most likely catch some catfish! We caught one about 15 pounds... released it but it was fun and quite a rush! Thank you for allowing us to stay; it truly is a treat for anyone wanting to come.
Our 3rd stay at this lovely place. Absolutely perfect!
This is our second visit to the Riverside Retreat and we are amazed once again. We had a cold front come through while we were there so we got to really enjoy to comforts of the cabin. You can tell spring in coming by the active wildlife. We had fun seeing the different species of birds at the different times of the day. We got to watch geese land and take off from the river below, what an awesome sight to see. We had a great time and can't wait to come back.

We just spent three relaxing nights in the Riverside Retreat. The cabin had everything that we could have needed and was VERY clean. The screened in porch was wonderful. Thanks for a great stay!
The setting was wonderful. We sat by the fire pit 24/7 and hung hammocks in the trees and read! Had morning prayers on the screened in porch, ate our fill of s'mores and fished off the bank and in the canoe! We hiked and canoed the river end to end and left cell phones back in Louisiana! It was just what our family (of 4) needed! (Our 2 teens loved it!!)
