About Nicola Pericoli

Roberta & Nicola (sister and brother) with Ena and Roberto (mother and father) are the only shareholders of the company Immatex S.a.s. The Owner of this beautiful property.

Nicola Pericoli purchased this house in 1998

Why Nicola Pericoli chose Metropolitan City of Florence

We live in a nearby town.

What makes this house unique

We love the panoramic view of the Arno's valley, the countryside with vineyards and olive groves, dotted with cypress trees.

The villa enjoys a beautiful location, we can see the valley but also the mountain, we enjoy a panoramic view of 360 degrees

Guestbook comments from the owner

Simon:"We chose Tuscany because we wanted to experience a cultural holiday, with a sense of isolation. We found that with Casale degli Ulivi, the Tuscan villa! The house was at the end of a dirt track, surrounded by vines and olive trees, with an idyllic view of the rolling Tuscan hills. We felt like we were miles from civilisation, yet it was only a 15 minute drive to the local station for express trains to Florence and Rome. The house itself had plenty of room for the six of us, and kept us cool during a very hot first week. The gardens and pool area kept us all either busy, or asleep in the sun. The film crew visited us early in the holiday, and it is a day we will all remember for a long time. The camera guys really immersed themselves (literally for the underwater cameraman!) in our day and had us in fits of laughter as they encouraged us to make the most of the pool and the kitchen. When I entered the competition there was some trepidation from a couple of the family about a day with a film crew, now everyone would like a film day every year!" VIEW OUR VIDEO AT

An absolutely fantastic holiday in Tuscany.

  • 5 of 5

The villa was everything that we wanted in a holiday in Tuscany. The location was great, nestled in the hills with great views of the vineyards and olive groves. Even better we were able to see the harvest take place. The house itself was fantastic, it was spacious, well maintained and had everything we needed.

The location was close to some beautiful small towns (Regello and Pian di Sco) and great food. We were simply able to ask Nicola (owner) for information and he was always there, very responsive and great with advice on where to go and what to eat in the area.

The pool and out door dining was a definite highlight of the place. I would highly recommend having dinner outside (cook yourself or get in touch with Lorenzo through Nicola for a cooking lesson). We had a blast drinking some great local wine, and eating some great local food.

Thank you very much for the help during the trip and giving us the the opportunity to stay in this wonderful part of the world.

A great holiday in a stunning villa.

  • 5 of 5

Casale degli Ulivi is a stunning villa with truly magnificent views of typical Tuscan hills, and the pictures on the website give a very good feel of the villa. The rooms are generous with comfortable beds. The bathrooms (with showers) are also more than adequate, and the whole place is well maintained.

Despite we were 11 persons we never felt crowded, and even though there is a small charge, the air-conditioned bedrooms were a welcome relief.

The manager, Andrea, was very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay.

All in all we really loved this villa and we had a great time. However some points to make your stay more enjoyable:

1. Be prepared for mosquitos!

2. The nearest shop is a very small mini mart in Pian Di Sco, but there is a very good Lidl 15 minutes drive away at Via Cavicchi Martiri, Figline Valdarno.

3. Do not drive to Florence but get a train from Figline Valdarno. Only 30 minutes to the centre of Florence!

4. Some of the best gelato in Tuscany can be had at Regello.

5. The Benedictine Abbey of Vallombrosa in the national forest and hills north of Regello is well worth a visit. John Milton wrote a passage about this Abbey in his famous poem “Paradise Lost” in 1667.

Our family vacation for a week in Villa 442656

  • 5 of 5

Our week in Nicolai's villa was fabulous. He and Andrea rescued us after having a flat tire getting there, and remained helpful the entire week. The villa was perfect for our three grandchildren (11,11,and 8) with a beautiful swimming pool, ping pong table, and bocci and bad mitten sets. They were thoroughly entertained. The bedrooms were air conditioned which we needed. The best were the patio dinners overlooking the sunsets and cooked by Lorenzo Migliorini. He also gave us a cooking lesson. The villa is spacious with 5 bedrooms and 41/2 baths, TV, and nice sitting area. The grounds are well kept with many fruit tees. Thank you, Nicolai and Andrea for a wonderful week in your villa! Absolute Tuscan Perfection

  • 5 of 5

This Villa is unbelievably beautiful and was perfect for our large group of 11. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large and plentiful, the grounds are huge and it's very kid friendly with the large pool, ping-pong table, swing set, soccer net and badminton set! The two young boys were never bored. Additionally, the kitchen was big enough for several of us to cook without being cramped. It was clean and well stocked for a large group of people looking to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Nicola and Andrea were helpful and responsive leading up to and during the stay. In fact, we had troubles on arriving (nothing to do with them) and Andrea ended up picking some of us from the train station nearby. He saved us!

The property is in a great location in that it is remote, but it is also not far from amenities such as grocery stores, cafes, etc. It is only about a 12 min drive to the Figline train station which has trains that will take you to Florence, Rome, etc. The surrounding villages are very charming and I feel like there is still a lot we could have explored. I really wish we could have stayed longer.

One of the most amazing thing about this villa is the VIEWS. Pictures absolutely do not justify the breathtaking views from every window and outside of the villa. I have travelled quite a bit and this is one of the most beautiful places I've been. The property is surrounded by vineyards and olive trees and dotted with rose bushes and other lovely flora.

A couple of other things that may be helpful:

For Americans and others new to Tuscany - yes, it is hard to find and you will probably need to contact Andrea to help you when you get to the last few km. Yes, it is off a bit of a rough dirt road, but after driving it a few times it will feel completely normal (and it is normal for this area). It really isn't a big deal. We had three cars for our 11 people and no one had a problem after driving the way a couple of times.

We enlisted Lorenzo, as recommended by Nicola, to guide us on a wine tour and to give us a cooking class at the villa one night. We had an absolutely fabulous time at both....enlist his services and book in advance, as he is a busy man!

We will be returning, for sure. Many of us had been to Italy, but this was our first time with a large group in the countryside. It was the perfect choice….I already miss it!

THE VILLA IS LOCATED IN THE HEART OF TUSCANY AND IT IS THE PERFECT STARTING POINT FOR TOURS TO FLORENCE, SIENA, AREZZO. MOREOVER, THERE IS A WHOLE RANGE OF INTERESTING PLACES WORTH SEEING NEARBY. We are situated in the area of Reggello, where hospitality has a long tradition. According to Chronicles of all times, travellers who stayed there praised the place: from Charlemagne to Lorenzo the Magnificent, celebrity guests seeking rest from their military campaigns or political worries. This area is very rich in natural and artistic treasures: you can visit Romanesque churches with works of Renaissance artists like Masaccio, Raffaellino del Garbo, Gerini, Ghirlandaio, Della Robbia. You can visit the Protected Natural Areas of Forest of Saint Anthony and the Crags, along with the historical Vallombrosa. This territory is also well-known for its beautiful landscape and its very special olive oil .
