Why Nicola Pericoli chose Metropolitan City of Florence

We live in a nearby town.

What makes this house unique

We love the panoramic view of the Arno's valley, the countryside with vineyards and olive groves, dotted with cypress trees.

The villa enjoys a beautiful location, we can see the valley but also the mountain, we enjoy a panoramic view of 360 degrees

Guestbook comments from the owner

Simon:"We chose Tuscany because we wanted to experience a cultural holiday, with a sense of isolation. We found that with Casale degli Ulivi, the Tuscan villa! The house was at the end of a dirt track, surrounded by vines and olive trees, with an idyllic view of the rolling Tuscan hills. We felt like we were miles from civilisation, yet it was only a 15 minute drive to the local station for express trains to Florence and Rome. The house itself had plenty of room for the six of us, and kept us cool during a very hot first week. The gardens and pool area kept us all either busy, or asleep in the sun. The film crew visited us early in the holiday, and it is a day we will all remember for a long time. The camera guys really immersed themselves (literally for the underwater cameraman!) in our day and had us in fits of laughter as they encouraged us to make the most of the pool and the kitchen. When I entered the competition there was some trepidation from a couple of the family about a day with a film crew, now everyone would like a film day every year!" VIEW OUR VIDEO AT

Terrific Tuscan Holiday

  • 5 of 5

What a marvelous Tuscan vacation! My wife and I rented the Villa for 4+ weeks in September. We had planned to arrive early and spend a few days in Figline Valdarno so we could learn about the area, do some site-seeing, and become familiar with the nearby stores and resteraunts before our guests arrived. As it turned out, we were able to rent this wonderful Villa for a few extra days at the beginning of our stay. This was perfect.

Driving from the airport in Florence was a challange, but Claudio was there to welcome us when we finally arrived and to help us explore our new home. Getting around was easy once we were more familiar with the area.

The Villa can easily accomodate 10 or more guests. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms are good sized and the house and property are large enough that we never felt crowded. The property itself is lovely and well maintained and is surrounded by vineyards. The location is close to some lovely towns such as Regello and Pian di Sco and a number of very good resteraunts. Our favorite was Ristorante Pizzeria Andrea in Pian di Sco.

During the first part of our stay our son and family (including a 8 month old great grandson) stayed with us. The Villa was perfect for all of us. A crib and high chair were provided for the baby and the grounds include a great play area for children, complete with swings. Our family enjoyed swimming, reading on the veranda, taking walks and just relaxing.

One evening we enjoyed a cooking class, arranged by Claudio with Chef Lorenzo. We had fun, learned something about Italian culinary arts and had a wonderful meal. We highly recommend a class or catered meal with Chef Lorenzo.

One of the best things about our stay was the personal attention given to us by Nicola, the owner, and Claudio the concierge. They were generous with their time and their knowledge of the area. They took care to make sure that everything we needed for our stay was available.

During the second half of our stay we were joined by other friends and family and had another wonderful catered meal. We spent more time away from the Villa during this time, visiting the local towns as well as destinations such as wine tasting in the Chianti region, Volterra, Siena and of course, Florence. Wherever we went it was always great to get back to the Villa and enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine. The Villa is perfect for exploring the rest of Tuscany.

Our thanks to Nicola, Claudio and Angela.

A villa that gave a wonderful lived in feel to it.

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful well equipped Tuscan villa with charisma, which offers plenty of room for 11 adults. The views are out of this world and I would not hesitate to recommend this property for a family get together. We enjoyed BBQ evenings on the terrace watching the sun-setting and had fun trying to spot the wild boar. On previous holidays we have eaten out on most evenings but we enjoyed the villa so much that we chose to eat at home most nights. Lorenzo cooked for us one evening which was delightful - offering vegetarian and gluten free options with a smile. Claudio was extremely helpful when we contacted him and nothing was too much trouble even when we arrived after midnight. We did take time to travel to Florence by train which was straight forward and drove to Sienna. Both worth a visit. Thoroughly recommend a trip to Chianti for wine tasting too. The youngsters were extremely pleased to have Wi-Fi at the villa and we all agree we will be returning for another visit.

Superb villa, just perfect

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful villa, not too precious but very well presented and adequately equipped. Lovely bed linen and towels. Great bathrooms.

The pool was so well set out and very safe for our 4 grandchildren ages 6,5,4,&3. they loved it, spending as much time as possible swimming, diving and playing. It was all so relaxing we lost count of the days. Lorenzo came and cooked a typically Tuscan meal for us,- super. We drank great wine and watched amazing sunsets and wild storms from the terrace. Nicola was a great host, most attentive and informative. We saw the wild boar (3 adults and 3 young on several occasion foraging for pears in the orchard below the terrace- fascinating for the children.

Altogether a truly memorable family holiday. Would highly reccommend

Beautiful Tuscan villa

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful holiday at Casale degli Ulivi. It was quite difficult to find and the last bit of 'road' is little more than a dirt track but it was well worth the effort!

On arrival we were met by Claudio who welcomed us and took time to show us around the house and gardens, explaining how everything worked. He and Nicola were very helpful and were genuinely concerned to ensure we enjoyed our holiday.

The house is an ideal base for exploring Tuscany. The villa is tastefully furnished, spacious and comfortable; the kitchen is very well equipped and the fridge is huge! Everything was spotless and all the equipment was well maintained.

The gardens are beautiful with stunning views of the countryside. The pool is a decent size and the surrounding area is perfect for sunbathing.

We walked to Pian di Sco most mornings, stocked up on cornetti and bread at the little bakery and enjoyed a coffee before making the return trip. For the main grocery shop we used the Co-op in Figline.

If you are looking for a comfortable, well equipped property with beautiful outside spaces in a quiet, rural location I would have no hesitation in recommending this villa.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your great appreciation. I can not ask for more! I have a duty to point out to our future guests that the house is very easy to fnd. It is accessible by a short stretch of road directly connected to the provincial road positioned just 13 km from the highway. Nevertheless we advise our guests - n advance - to use GPS by entering the coordinates that we deliver together with our guide, before they leave . Who is less practical will be helped by us during the trip. About the dirt road We must say that it is true that - cause storm few days earlier - about 50 mt were not in good condition but very well passable. Unfortunately it can happen in the country. However for the new season in 2017 that little stretch of weaker road will be permanently restored using systems that do not allow damages in case of storm. It being understood that it is always a country road and just so you can experience the traditional beauty, privacy and peace of our country. Nicola

Great place in Tuscany

  • 5 of 5

We spend a week in June staying at the property and had a great time. We have two boys age 4 & 7 and were looking for a quiet place to meet with the rest of my family while on a trip to Italy. The home exceeded our expectations - it is large even to American standards, very kid friendly, located in a quiet area up in the hills near Regello but a short drive to Florence and Sienna. Nicola makes sure that you are 100% satisfied and have everything you need during your stay. We wish that we would visit again soon and I would highly recommend the property to others in a heartbeat.

An absolutely fantastic holiday in Tuscany.

  • 5 of 5

The villa was everything that we wanted in a holiday in Tuscany. The location was great, nestled in the hills with great views of the vineyards and olive groves. Even better we were able to see the harvest take place. The house itself was fantastic, it was spacious, well maintained and had everything we needed.

The location was close to some beautiful small towns (Regello and Pian di Sco) and great food. We were simply able to ask Nicola (owner) for information and he was always there, very responsive and great with advice on where to go and what to eat in the area.

The pool and out door dining was a definite highlight of the place. I would highly recommend having dinner outside (cook yourself or get in touch with Lorenzo through Nicola for a cooking lesson). We had a blast drinking some great local wine, and eating some great local food.

Thank you very much for the help during the trip and giving us the the opportunity to stay in this wonderful part of the world.

THE VILLA IS LOCATED IN THE HEART OF TUSCANY AND IT IS THE PERFECT STARTING POINT FOR TOURS TO FLORENCE, SIENA, AREZZO. MOREOVER, THERE IS A WHOLE RANGE OF INTERESTING PLACES WORTH SEEING NEARBY. We are situated in the area of Reggello, where hospitality has a long tradition. According to Chronicles of all times, travellers who stayed there praised the place: from Charlemagne to Lorenzo the Magnificent, celebrity guests seeking rest from their military campaigns or political worries. This area is very rich in natural and artistic treasures: you can visit Romanesque churches with works of Renaissance artists like Masaccio, Raffaellino del Garbo, Gerini, Ghirlandaio, Della Robbia. You can visit the Protected Natural Areas of Forest of Saint Anthony and the Crags, along with the historical Vallombrosa. This territory is also well-known for its beautiful landscape and its very special olive oil .
