With the Adriatic sea just 20 minutes away and situated just 600m from the edge of Alberobello (UNESCO World Heritage Site) this trullo is perfectly located for exploring Puglia.
Renovated in 2011 and the finish of this trullo is lovely.
The 2 pretty bedrooms have a romantic feel with pretty mosquito nets, candles and lovely soft furnishings.
The twin room has doors leading out onto the patio area.
There is a new kitchen with dishwasher and espresso coffee machine.
The new stone built bathroom is in keeping with the original trullo.
There is a very spacious living/dining area with bed sofa where a further 2 guests can sleep comfortably.
2 log burning open fires, one in the kitchen and one in the living area, create a lovely atmosphere in the cooler months.
The original features have been preserved throughout Trullo Papavero and every detail has been considered to ensure your stay is very comfortable.
Enjoy the hand carved furniture which was made by the owners father.
In the 4 acres of private land you will find fruit trees and a selection of vegetables and you are free to enjoy these throughout your stay.
In a separate area at the back of the property there are hens for fresh eggs.
The infinity pool, trullo and grounds are private only for your use.
We spent a wonderful week in this absolutely beautiful and very well kept Trullo. The house and its surroundings are perfect to spend a quiet and very relaxing holiday. The short distances to all the beautiful historic towns makes this property even more attractive. We enjoyed spending time in the pool, which was always kept very clean, the kids had so much fun getting the fresh eggs every morning and harvesting the fresh fruits and the vegetables from the garden. The owners and rhe trustee of the trullo are very lovely people. We could ask them everything and could count on helpful tips to discover the area. We recommend the Trullo papavero to everyone, we had a perfect holiday.
We arrived for our two week vacation on 3 June and were welcomed by both Susan, our agent, and Rosanna, the property owner. Rosanna left us a well stocked supply of "goodies" which kept us going for quite some time. Very generous indeed! These two ladies and Teo, Rosanna's husband were just oh so helpful during our stay. Nothing was any bother to them and all of our requests and inquiries got an immediate response. We fell in love with the Trullo. It was just enchanting, superbly maintained and decorated with all the little finishing touches that make you feel at home. Great outdoor areas for picnics, patio and outdoor dining and a lovely pool, cleaned daily. We had full access to their vegetable garden but unfortunately it was a bit early in the season as there was a lot of stuff not yet ready but we did have a daily supply of fresh eggs!
The Trullo was a great location for travel to all the surrounding towns. We were only a 7 minute walk from two excellent restaurants and in Alberobello itself we would highly recommend Trullo D'Oro and La Cantina.
We would definitely recommend this property and our agent, Susan Gardner and would hope to be back here again some day. If you choose this Trullo we believe you will find it just as good as we did! Enjoy!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Trullo Papovero. The pictures are accurate but actually it is much more beautiful than photos convey. Susan and the owners have really thought of everything one could need in the house to make it welcoming and special. We were told the vegetable garden was ours for the picking, and so every night we had a big, fresh salad, and even some early strawberries. Heaven! Also fresh eggs from the hen in the morning. Even though it was rainy when we were there, it was still a very pleasant stay and the area is gorgeous. Rosanna, the owner, came by within minutes with a basket of firewood, apologizing for the weather!! The pool was lovely during the few sunny hours and the grounds, filled with olive trees and hay bales, were stunning and perfect for my morning run. The house is close to the road which is a two-lane, country road but also quite heavily traveled. However, I think that most of the houses in this area are similarly located and it didn't bother us much. We would go back and highly recommend this beautiful trullo!
Where do we start?!? We, (parents with a 2 year old) had a fabulous week at the Trullo Papavero, our only regret was we couldn't stay longer!
The trullo is maintained at a very high standard and the pictures can't do it justice, you need to see in real life. Susan was a great help before and during our stay. Teo and Rosanna (owners) have renovated their family trullo to a very high standard and the garden, swimming pool and chickens make the trullo a wonderful experience for a young family (and parents alike). They make a point of welcoming all their guests and were lovely hosts.
The trullo is located close to Alberobello, a beautiful little town with good restaurants (can't really go wrong), it is still a drive into town, the roads are too dark and Italian driving is less than safe!
We look forward to our next trip to Puglia and can not recommend Trullo Papavero highly enough to couples and families alike.
What a find! Having watched a t.v. show about trulli, we decided on the spur of the moment to try one for two weeks. We contacted Susan Gardner and she recommended Trullo Papavero. We could not have been happier! The location on the edge of Alberobello was perfect, with a couple of good restaurants within walking distance and only a few minutes drive into town for several more. The trullo was quite charming and very well equipped – especially the kitchen and of course the infinity pool! Susan and the owners, Theo and Rosanna, were very attentive and helpful. All in all, a very positive experience for our first “trullo vacation” – we’ll be back!
We are a family with three young children and have just spent a wonderful week in Trullo papavero.
The trullo is in a great location, just on the edge of the town so you can walk into town if you like, but since our kids are a bit little for that we drove in and parking is fine. Upon arriving we were met by Susan and the owners who are all really lovely and extremely accommodating.
The trullo was spotless and without exaggeration, we loved every aspect of it. From the welcome basket of goodies from local producers (olive oil from down the road) to the pretty decor, the chooks in the garden (fenced off), the tomatoes growing in the garden, the fruit trees, the hammock in the shade.... I could go on and on. The pool is beautiful and again, spotless. We spent a lot of time at the trullo because, as a family it was so relaxing to be there and the kids could explore and play safely.
We will be recommending the trullo to our friends/family and hope to return some time soon.
