If you've never discovered the beauty and serenity of Lake Nebagamon, this is your opportunity! It is a hidden gem of a lake, located just 35 minutes outside of Duluth and a short 2-hour drive from the Twin Cities or Brainerd. Hayward is only 40 minutes away, and has many tourist attractions to offer visitors. Pontoon and jet ski rental available right on the lake, as well as many wonderful dining options, nightlife, and a beautiful public beach. Many more amenities just too numerous to mention.
Our family has come to cherish our beautiful lake home and any time we are fortunate enough to spend there. In opening up our home to others, it is our hope that you may experience the same 'memory box moments' with your family as we have with ours. There is no doubt that once you visit, it will become a tradition you will want to continue.

Our choice to have a lake home on Nebagamon is simple... it is the most beautiful lake we have ever spent time on throughout Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin. The lake is large enough for everyone, yet private and quiet even during the busiest times of the year because of the separate bays the lake has to offer. Crystal clear water, hard sand bottom, and beautiful summertime weather attract people during the months of May-September. The winter months are absolutely beautiful as well, with snow-covered trees, peace and quiet when you want to get away from it all, and a warm, cozy environment to settle into to as the snow falls outside. These are the reasons we love being here so much!
We stayed in February for a long weekend with family snowmobiling and had a great stay. The VRBO listing is right on. There was plenty of space for 10 of us to sleep, the home was clean and comfortable. The renter and the caretaker were very responsive. Everything was as expected. Snowmobiles trails came right to the lake and there was plenty of space to park a couple trucks and trailers, which was very nice. The kids enjoyed the sauna, even though it was February! We would definitely stay again. Thank you!
My sisters and nieces gather once a year for a Girl's Weekend and this year we had the pleasure of staying at the Executive Retreat. It far exceeded our expectations. It was roomy, homey and had that great north woods appeal. The description and pictures listed on VRBO are spot on. The amenities were great. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, etc. We had an amazing time and hope to make this our go to spot for our weekend next year. I would definitely recommend this property.
We had our extended family enjoy a great weekend here. Plenty of room for 12 of us. Everything was explained well to us on our arrival. Clean and homey. We had enough to do we didn't even use the tv's. Exceeded our expectations. Wished we could have stayed longer.
Great place for our extended family to spend the week. Ages 2-95 had a wonderful time. The beach was great for the kids to wade out into and have a blast all day long, we brought our boats and appreciated having space on the dock to tie up and go explore the lake. For how developed and large the lake is we kept commenting on how little boat traffic there really was. It was quite enjoyable.
Fishing was so-so, it may have been the time of year. The DNR and lake association is activley trying to restock the lake for Walleye and Bass. The effective slot for walleye was 18"-20" but I never say one anyway. Good sized bass up in the shallower ends of the lake and some decent panfish to be found.
The home is lovely and everything is in great working order. The kitchen is a little small for 4 adults who like to cook, not complaining, just FYI. Be prepared to bring more TP if you have a larger group, some in our group were distressed by this but whatever, the store in town had plenty of household supplies.
The owners were always responsive to questions beforehand via email or phone if not always on the ball with a systematized response and followup (which some of the paperwork seemed to imply) they were happy to answer questions and assure that things were in order.
5 friends from all over the Midwest try to get together every year to catch up on each others lives, do a little bird hunting and generally relax. Selecting Erica's Lake Home was a the center piece of a incredibly wonderful four day stay. The view of the lake is fantastic, the furnishings complement the outdoor rustic setting and the home is stocked with just about everything you could ask for to cook fantastic meals.
The owner, Erica, is a pleasant a host as you could find and provided all the information we needed to have a wonderful time!
What a most beautiful place for our family to get ready for a wedding in! The fall colors were at their peak and the lake scene was so peaceful. We had a great bonfire the night before and sauna, which made for a great night's sleep before the wedding in Amnicon Falls State Park the next day-very comfy beds by the way! We were so grateful to have 3 bathrooms for all to get ready in. We felt so comfortable in your lovely home, having morning coffee on the deck looking at the sunrise on the lake was heavenly! The wedding could not have been more perfect with the weather cooperating as it did. We will always treasure the wedding memories that were made at your lovely lake home. Our pictures are spectacular! Also, thanks again Erica for finding my hair straightener and sending it back so quickly. We so appreciated your taking time with us to show us around when we arrived and being available by phone when we had question. We truly were in a home away from home and give your VRBO the very highest recommendation!
