Best Lil Gem on Carolina Beach

  • 5 of 5

Very easy to book, Craig responded to my inquiry right away with all the information I needed and was great and friendly during check in. The house and location is amazing! The first thing we noticed while entering the home is the beautiful flooring, decor and cleanliness. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed or forgot. The outside showers (2) were amazing (hot water) and we were so close to the beach that we spent most of our time there. There was plenty of beach toys and chairs so no need to bring or buy any. Everything is in walking distance so we didn't drive during our entire stay which was really nice. It was also really nice that the entire area is pet friendly. Our dog was just as sad as us to leave lol. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic experience

  • 5 of 5

Great location! A mere 1 minute walk to the beach, easily within walking distance to local restaurants, just down the street from Freeman Park, and only a 15 minute drive to the aquarium! The condo was clean and well-supplied with the basic necessities. Our small family of three and two full-size dogs had plenty of space. The deck was great to relax on and the outdoor shower provided a great way to clean off from the beach without tracking anything inside. The owners were more than accommodating. There's room a for a full-size truck in the driveway and a small car if you have two vehicles. We had a great time and we'll likely rent from them again in the future!

Wonderful home and great host!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved our last minuted weekend getaway with the our two dogs. This home was clean and perfect for all four of us. It was just a one-block walk to the ocean. We enjoyed relaxing on the upper deck and all the beach supplies (umbrella, chairs, etc.). Also, I loved that we could leave our car in the driveway all weekend and walk to nearby restaurants and shops. And let me tell you about Crag. What a wonderful and thoughtful host. He recommended nearby restaurants and checked in on us to ensure we had a great time in spite of the bad weather we experience at the beginning of the trip. We will be back!

Much smaller than anticipated, not very clean

  • 3 of 5

We stayed in August 2016, & the first thing we noticed upon arrival(after a long drive), was how dirty the bathroom was. There is mold on the shower curtain liner, & the rugs in the bathroom were so filthy we covered them with towels for the week. Also, if you rent here you will get an email stating you need to only bring beach towels, that isn't true. We had to go to Walmart to buy bath towels, wash cloths, a hand towel, & dishrags. Since we spent the money on them, we didn't leave them for future guests. Also, there was a lot of pet fur on the couches/chair in the living room, so therefore, we covered those with blankets as well. The dishwasher was pretty gross, so we cleaned it before using it, & the last guests had washed the dishes & put them away wet(not the fault of the owner), so they were dingy by the time we got there. So to start after a 10 hr drive, we went to the store & then cleaned unfortunately. Also, by the end of our first night, after being there about 5 hrs, my white socks were black on the bottom, so we all had to wear socks or flip flops(including in the shower) the entire stay.

The condo itself is fairly small, we were ok with 2 adults/2 kids, but anymore than that would've been impossible! The 1 bedroom with the full bed is so tiny, that is all that fits in there, plus a little night stand. No room for a suitcase, so that got stationed in the living room for the week. In the other bedroom, there was a good amount of room, considering the amount of beds(bunk beds), however, every mattress had springs that could be felt, & there were a few that were very squeaky, so needless to say, the 2 of us that were in that room tried all 4 beds before deciding that none were comfortable, but at least 2 weren't super squeaky.

These were all of the negatives, now for the positives.

This property has a nice deck with an outdoor table/chairs set, & also an outdoor couch that is nice. The adults enjoyed out evenings outside. The walk to the beach is about 3 minutes, & the fact that they provide A LOT of beach chairs, life jackets, sand toys, etc for the guests was great! They do have a cart to be used, however, on our first day the leg fell off, & we could see that the previous user must've broken it & tried to fix it themselves, so that wasn't great, but not the fault of the owner. Also, the walk to the "boardwalk" is about 10 min. If you're going here for quiet, this is the place, but their "boardwalk" is pitiful & our kids were bored.

We loved the property, It was in good condition.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the beach, the home had everything we needed. The house was clean and ready for our stay when we arrived. We really appreciated that they provided beach chairs, canopy, sand toys and life jacket if we needed it. They also had a cart to use to haul things to and from the beach. The beach was beautiful and close. The walk was short and was perfect for our son. Close to the boardwalk, enjoyed the walk too and from, not far at all. The neighbor was very helpful in letting us know what was going on in the area, like fireworks on the beach on Thursday night. Also bingo and music another night. It was a good place to stay and will definitely stay again.

Oh my what a wonderful mini vacation for us. Pet friendly, quiet location on a side street, with a large deck, plenty of beach chairs and equipment. This home is everything it says it is. Nice neighbors, quiet neighborhood, stocked kitchen, beautifully decorated. Just across the road from the beach access.Even a baby gate to put up for the dog (or child).! And within walking distance to the boardwalk. Great owner to work with!
