About J Knepper
We began hosting friends & family to the wilds of Alaska in 1988, after living here for several years and working in the commercial fishing industry. Our family runs this lodge in the summers and offer the open and available weeks for others to enjoy, donate to charities and rent out. The Lodge closes in September for the winter months and open in May. Our summer home is comfortable and allows our guests the joy of experiencing the ALASKA we love and cherish.
J Knepper purchased this Lodge in 1990
Why J Knepper chose Happy Valley
Ninilchik is centrally located on the Kenai Peninsula, (the play ground of Alaskans) between the world famous Kenai River and Homer Harbor. The perfect place to enjoy peaceful river frontage and still be within a short drive to the ocean and town. Its the perfect place to totally unwind and get a way, but have everything best about Alaska a close drive away.
What makes this Lodge unique
We chose this location in the valley for is lovely scenic views and gentle flowing river. We sleep at night with the windows cracked open to hear the babbling river and fresh Alaskan air. Warm, comfy flannel sheets and fresh hot coffee on the deck hold us captive each summer and guests are in awe of just how lovely and warm the log lodge make one feel and enjoy a true vaca. Its always a pleasure when a mama moose come stomping across the river and through our lawn with her baby and eats our alders for stunning photos. We enjoy the annual runs of King Salmon that head up our river to spawn each year and see them jumping up into the sunlight from our decks. Magical is the best way to describe our special place in Ninilchik, but wait until you read our log book full of life-changing moments that take place at this lodge.
