Sandpoint Condo Rental Photos and Description

ondo, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5 Baths: 2 full with full size Tubs

Beautiful, newer (9 years) 3 story, 1,800 ft2 condo at Schweitzer Mountain. 3+ Bedrooms (plus additional queen sofa bed in den), 2.5 baths. Additional den is great for keeping kids entertained. Comfortably sleeps 8 - 12. Large, king bed in master suite with walk-in closet, Beautiful Queen guest room, and two sets of single-over-twin bunk beds in 'bunk room'. We are original owners and provided all furnishings and amenities for ourselves and 4 children including: Granite countertops throughout, pre-wired sound system throughout condo, 3 flat screen TV's, stereo, DVD player, CD changer, CD video library, Bar, Gas fireplace, 2 car-heated garage with ski/board racks, private deck. The kitchen has gas range, quality owner-type cookware (as opposed to rental) including waffle iron, coffee maker, crock pot, blender, etc.

This has been our family ski condo and have spent the last 6 Christmases all together here. Now that all 4 our children have left home, we made the decision to let others start building their memories as we have (plus my wife wants to go somewhere warm!), so as of Nov. 8, it is still available for Christmas, New Year's and all other holidays.

About Dan Baker

Hello!

My wife and I moved our family to Hayden Lake, ID from San Diego almost 22 years. Hayden Lake is just a little over an hour South of Schweitzer Mountain and we fell in love with Schweitzer Mountain and Sandpoint. We have 4 children that are all active skiers/snowboarders and Schweitzer has always been our favorite mountain, anywhere! We wanted a true second home and this condo was perfect. We chose this condo while it was still being framed and, in terms of creating great family memories, it was the best investment we ever could have made. Since the first year we purchased it, we've spent every Thanksgiving and Christmas together with our children, and now 7 grandchildren.

We've never rented to the public before, but since our children are all out of the house now, my wife and I decided that we'd like to spend some of the winter in warmer climates. We'd love to have you start to build the memories that we have!

Dan Baker purchased this condo in 2006

Why Dan Baker chose Lake Pend Oreille

Our home is close enough to the runs that we can choose to ski all day, just take a few runs here and there, stop back in for lunch or watch a movie with the grandkids. The Village is within walking distance with the Resort, shops and restaurants. The Village has a great Activity Center for children and adults, with Hermit's Hollow Tubing, Zip Line, ski-school, free afternoon matinees during ski-season, sledding, horseback riding and more. Santa even visits our Condo on Christmas Eve on the mountain's Firetruck!

Was once, and will again be very nice, however we had issues.

  • 2 of 5

It was clear when we arrived, and owner later confirmed, that nobody had been there in a while. There was some sort of leak in the basement, possibly caused by a failed sump pump causing mold growth on the walls of the garage and a very musty smell, luckily isolated to the basement and bonus room adjacent to the garage. Garage floor and carpet in that bonus room was wet, and there was some kind of animal droppings in the corner. Owner was apologetic when we called to notify him of these issues, obviously with a short stay there is nothing that could be done in the mean time. There was also a baseball sized wasp nest in the doorway to the front deck, which we were able to take care of ourselves (glad we noticed before the kids did). The lack of window screens was really more an annoyance than anything, being that there is no AC, having the windows open is a must in the summer... But w/o screens, some bugs get in... I was surprised not that many, but especially after the wasp nest incident, we were on high alert.

On to the positive. Very comfortable accommodations, well appointed large kitchen, and plenty of space. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, pots and pans for large groups. Gorgeous area in the summertime, and very quiet.

With the above issues fixed, which I'm sure they will be, this will once again be a nice, comfortable place to stay, just not the weekend we were there.

Best vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

We had a perfect stay on the mountain in this incredibly cozy, comfortable home. It was very quick and easy to access the ski area so we had days filled with skiing, coming back to the house for lunch then back to the slopes. Evenings well spent watching Gonzaga win. This lovely home lacks for nothing and we can't wait to return.

Cozy retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a nice preChristmas stay! We enjoyed watching movies and playing games after a day on the slopes! The kitchen was well set up with all we needed to prepare home cooked meals! The only problem was the incline to get to the condo. Because of snow and ice so we went to town for chains which allowed us to get up the slope. . .sometimes! Even with chains, there was slipping on the ice. All in all this just added to the adventure and, once inside, everything was fine. I would highly recommend this property!!

Outstanding Place

  • 5 of 5

Our family along with another family stayed at this condo in August to enjoy Sandpoint and Silverwood park. In total there was 11 of us staying and it was very comfortable and very well equipped. We cooked and ate all of our meals in the condo and it was easy to do with the fully equipped kitchen. It was a great price and there was no disappointments other than with no air conditioning in the summer, and the windows didn't have screens, the lights at night attracted the bugs.

Comfortable and affordable

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 10, mostly adult children, enjoyed a 3-night stay in July at this condo while touring and exploring northern Idaho. There was plenty of space, the beds and furnishings were very comfortable, and the price was exceptional for a house rental. Since we pack most of our food, it was great to have a nice, fully equipped kitchen to cook in when we got back from sightseeing. The 10-mile drive up the mountain took an extra 30 min., and the driveway was a bit steep for our 15-passenger van, but we managed just fine and feel it was well worth it. We also enjoyed the fresh air, quiet, and deer and moose sightings. We had a very enjoyable stay!

Winter Family Fun

  • 5 of 5

This comfortable home was perfect for our family (ages 6-67) to enjoy a winter get-away. The lovely view of the slopes from the living room enticed us out for skiing, snowshoeing and cross-country. We had no problem with the short walk-ski to the Musical Chairs lift, from which it is easy to access the rest of the mountain. The three levels of the home allowed private space, and the living-dining area was just right to gather for meals and evening relaxation. We appreciated being able to have our family dog with us.
